The team is always responsive to our requests and needs and always, always puts well well being of kids first. Teachers are valued, respected, and a collaborative part of the leadership team. And, it shows. They're comfortable bring up ideas or concerns, and are greeted with responsiveness. This is the cleanest childcare facility I've ever seen in my life. This is also the only place that I trust my child to go during the pandemic. they already cleaned and sanitized more than any place I've ever seen. Now that's even amplified. Not only does the whole staff love my little boy, and he loves them... Not only have they helped him grow socially and emotionally... Not only does he love going to school everyday... Not only is it's a collaborative team where teachers are actually valued, respected, and listened to... But. I will never forget the night my mother-in-law passed suddenly. Because of the team's responsiveness, I never worried about if I would be able to get ahold of him during a constantly changing situation. It's not only that. I actually felt comfort knowing that I could reach out to them at any point, get a response, and that response would be to fully support my child and my family in any way possible. We have had children enrolled in Cornerstone (CCA) for the last 18 years. Until about ten years ago, the school was under the headship of Crossroads Community Church. The school had a healthy "family" feel whether talking with teachers, walking into the office, or strolling through campus. Biblical principles were integrated into the curriculum, and overall, students were respectful and well-behaved both in and out of the classroom. When CCA and Crossroads Community Church opted to part ways, we became acutely aware of a shift in culture as the school walked through ongoing changes in location, staff, and leadership. In our personal experience, the "family feel" and overall healthy culture has steadily degraded over the last several years. Our children have described a decline in the amount of Biblical integration occurring in the classroom and the amount of disrespectful and inappropriate behaviors that they have been exposed to on a daily basis in the classroom caused them to feel very uncomfortable and unsafe. Over the last school year, it became evident that specific threats to student safety, destruction of school property, and severe bullying amongst students seem to be handled internally without the involvement of law enforcement or communication with teachers or parents. In discussions about this, we were advised that threats of violence are pretty commonplace nowadays in the public school arena. My question is - should we not expect more when choosing to have our children educated in a Christ-centered environment? I appreciate the vision of current leadership at CCA. I think that their hearts for children and their desire to serve the Lord are genuine. However, from our family's personal experience, their vision and hope for what CCA should be is not what is being experienced where the "boots hit the ground" in the classroom.

Everyday it was like I was walking him to prison (and he had been in daycares his whole little life, so it was not just separation anxiety). I observed, spied, discussed with his teacher and administrator with no results. Finally I took a chance and moved him to CMS. His first day showed a change in our lives immediately - he was happy and eager to see his new friends (and he did not want to go back)! This year is his "leadership year" as a kindergartener, and I could not be more thankful with how self-confident and joyful he has grown. Okay so I'm an old student at camas schools. I whent from 1st grade all the way to 8th grade. This…read moreschool district only cares for their grades. They do not care about the students well fair, or mental health. They hire inappropriate substitute teachers and everyday teachers. When I say inappropriate I mean lowkey either pedophilia or the teacher doesnt do there job. When My peers or myself would report the teacher or sub it would be taken with a grain of salt and would be ignored. There was a substantial teacher that I had twice, and each time would go up to the boys in my class and start massaging there shoulders and start saying "how's your work going baby?" And would continue to say thing about how they wanted to convince some students in my class into there home. And this substitute is still working there. Another example of a teacher being out of line was a math teacher named br. Burton, who works at skyrdige middle school. He would sit there for the entire class period, and tell everyone about his life. He never taught us the curriculum and would get mad when we would have a class adverage of an F. Again, my peers and me have reported the teachers that have been out of line and it has been ignored. At one point, one of my friends was being bullied and they reported it over and over and it was ignore and that friend almost committed suicide because they where being ignored. It took the person almost committing suicide for the school to do anything about the bullying.

The dean and principal, especially Mr. Antony, seem more focused on strict and unnecessary policies--like the harsh phone rules--rather than actually improving the school environment. Their lack of leadership and failure to take student safety and well-being seriously make it clear that Mountain View is not being run the way a school should be.

Even with the multiple times we have moved away only to return, my son has always attended Evergreen district... I think we always figured he would end up here. He has wonderful friends and the teachers are excellent! Sure, no school is perfect but this school has some amazing teachers who inspire the students to open their minds. My son changed his career goals because of one of those teachers and now he is in Running start in full pursuit of his goals.
