I do mean ripped- he tried to numb the site with syringe after syringe of local anesthetic for about an hour before, but was fairly unsuccessful in making me in any way unable to feel pain. He wasted no time letting me know that the only time he'd ever done the procedure was with the good ole boys overseas, I must be tough because I had a higher pain tolerance than some of them that passed out when he did it, etc. and took about another hour trying to muscle it off before giving up most of the way through and (laughably badly) trying to bandage it. I had to go get it fixed at a podiatrist directly after, who informed me it was totally botched and he never should have attempted to do it on his own (he was absolutely confident in telling me he could do it and it was fine). Go figure. I was also prescribed birth control here for acne at some point. I Googled it and "acne" and a simple chart popped up as the first result; the birth control I was on actually made acne worse. Needless to say, it didn't work very well. Go here at your own risk.

Our children have been patients at two of the "top-rated" pediatricians as we've moved over the years--and this is the only practice where you're truly treated as a person, not just a number. If you're looking for speed and convenience, you can always go to an assembly-line pediatrician. But if you want a true care team--literally two doctors who will know your children by name, provide thoughtful and individualized treatment, and actually keep you informed--this is the place for you. When I first called, Anastasia let me know they're a smaller practice. So yes, I may wait on hold for a couple minutes while they're helping another patient--but I'll take that any day over the rushed, impersonal care we've experienced elsewhere. At the other offices, they'd order multiple bacterial infection tests based only on symptoms I described over the phone--without even seeing my children. That's not care--that's just billing insurance as quickly as possible. Sky Valley is the complete opposite. Here, they take the time to listen, assess thoughtfully, and treat your family like their own.

It takes a bit of time if it's your first appointment, so be prepared with your basic medical history and prior physicians information, and this will cut down on your Checkin time. Like most PCP's, annual well health physicals should be booked in advance (35 days was the next available when I had called), but they have accommodated my family for sick visits promptly, within same or next day. Our PCP offered great referrals for specialists in areas we needed, and this location has walk in hours almost every day. I honestly don't know what these people are complaining about below, they sound like they have issues that deal with things that have zero to do with a PCP office, but instead with insurance companies, or were calling to grill a receptionist with questions that really should be asked in a consultation with a nurse or doctor. Receptionists make appts, handle billing, check patients in and out, submit paperwork and do requests of doctors. Anything beyond that you need to actually consult a doctor/nurse for, your pharmacist, or your insurance company.
