Visited on a whim and it was by far the best burger ive had in a while. We got the big boy burger combo with jalepeno bread and some add ons. For the price of about $20 for 2 burgers fries and a drink you cant beat it. The lady at the register helped us out a lot considering its our first time. But we will definitely come again. read more

Unfortunately I was quite disappointed. My coworkers had really pumped up this little hole in the wall but it was not what I expected. I ordered a BLT with Cajun fries. One side of the toast was semi-toasted while the other side was so soggy it flopped between my fingers. The Cajun fries were battered and fried and there wasn't much Cajun seasoning to them. There was so much grease that after the sandwich I couldn't eat the fries; it was just too much. I will say that the fries were fairly crisp and the ingredients inside the BLT were very fresh. Don't let the funky historic outside dissuade you - inside is all new, made to look rustic. We happened to meet an owner, David, and learned: all ingredients are fresh. They do not have a freezer on the premises. Fresh ingredients delivered daily - and you can taste it! The inside has 8 or 9 spacious comfortable booths and a few tables. The vanilla soft serve cone was also perfect. You can drive through or order inside at the counter. We've been driving cross country and try to avoid chains. Finding Vanna's was a treat! read more

When I'm in Louisiana - it's hard not to get the local cuisine. However, Monroe isn't known for it's Cajun food. So I looked for something good, and not expensive and saw the reviews on Vannah's. I decided to try it, and it was fantastic. Chicken fingers are homemade. For $10 I got texas toast, homestyle fries and 4 ginormous chicken "fingers" - but it's basically chicken breast pounded thinner than usual and breaded with a side of homestyle gravy - not the normal packaged Dairy Queen or Sonic gravy. It was so good. I also had a chocolate shake. Shake made with homemade ice cream..... They took my name when I ordered - and they cam out to check on me and asked me "How is everything Jeff?" - I hope places like this make it. They deserve it. If you need a burger, sandwich, shake - give Vannah's a try. You shouldn't be disappointed. read more

We were pleasantly surprised by this diner! It's not all that impressive upon first glance, but the service and food are definitely worthy of praise! Between us, we had the fried pickles, a chili dog, onion rings, chicken strips, gravy, a cheeseburger and fries (so basically all the major food groups) and not one person at our table left unhappy. And with all that said, it's important to note that the food is not what led me to leave this review. What prompted me to take the time to write this was our experience with the staff. While there we interacted with the cashier, cook, and owner and all were incredibly kind and helpful. I've not felt that well taken care of at a restaurant in a long time. They were fast, attentive, and eager to serve. And the cherry on top-- as we pulled out of the parking lot and looked back through the window, wouldn't you know, there was owner waving goodbye to us.
