Stopped here for lunch, on our way to Mississippi. Stepping in, it's a small space, gives off small country diner feel, very welcoming. Large menu on the wall greets you.. staff were friendly and helpful. They take orders as you enter, give you a receipt and you're free to sit where you like. We ordered a large grilled shrimp salad and a Coney dog. Both came fairly quickly. Our orders were the large number on the top of our receipt, therefore so not throw away your receipt. My warm salad was actually really good. I was expecting cool grilled shrimp but it seems they grill when ordered. Very generous with shrimp. I was disappointed with my meal at Magic Grill. I ordered the Roast Beef Po-Boy and they were very "stingy" with the roast beef portion. With so little roast beef, it felt more like primarily eating bread with gravy and fries. I will say that the gravy was tasty and I did enjoy the fries. read more

I'd recommend having all the fixings - then - adding on their magic gravy. The lightly toasted French bread could not have been tastier. Maybe the best I've ever had. Light and airy. You only need a half sandwich. Their fries were homemade and flavorful. Again, I recommend gravy on the fries.. their green beans also very good. Service was warm and hospitable. We came here on a Saturday night right before closing time and service was friendly & courteous. My friend & I split the ribeye poboy w/ curly french fries & gravy. The ribeye was sandwiched in between toasted french bread, mayo, lettuce & tomatoes. The ribeye tasted a bit oversalted but OMG....I was in ribeye & gravy heaven!!! The gravy just made everything taste a million times better. I could probably die happy swimming in a vat of that "magical" gravy! And I was wondering why the french bread tasted so good--it was buttered up, making the poboy even more unhealthy but gosh darn it, who cares about calories when it's fingerlicking good! You know that the messier a poboy is, the better it will taste! My other friends had the burger and hamburger steak dinner & they seemed happy with their meal selections. we went here on a friends recommendation. i was expecting good things, since i have been wanting to try this place. sister ordered a fish sandwich, and was asked what side would she like with it. she was given the option of fries, tots, onion rings, ect. what a surpise when she was charged almost $9 for the 7 onion rings she received. so the fish sandwich and onion rings were over $20. wow. i ordered the small grilled shrimp salad, listed for $10.49. Cashier asked if i wanted the bacon, hb egg ect. on salad. i said sure, not knowing, (of course) it was extra. i would have been fine with that, but when the salad came, the shrimp were still raw, and i couldn't eat them. i asked the waitperson/food runner about the onion ring situation, thinking that if i had ordered a $9 side of onion rings i might get a side basket of them, instead of the 7 rings next to the sandwich, but she claimed that she didn't know, as she only works there. Gee, i thought that since you work there, you might know. wrong again. needless to say, i don't think that we will be back. read more

What A great lunch. On our drive across country we decided to look for somewhere different to eat rather than your regular chain restaurant right off the highway. Magic Grill had great reviews so we figured we give it a try even though it was further off the highway then we really wanted to drive. We definitely made the right decision what a delicious lunch. The ribeye poboy was outstanding and the gravy is just to die for. Hubby had the shrimp poboy that was delicious as well but I liked mine better. The owner Mike was working the front and even offered and brought us out some mashed potatoes and green beans on the house for our little baby girl. As we were leaving he also grabbed my husband on the way out the door and gave us a cup of ice cream, mmmmm. What outstanding service and excellent food. Great simple restaurant! I had a cheeseburger and onion rings. Hamburger was the perfect size for lunch. The onion rings were homemade...cut thick so the sweet onion stayed crunchy and the batter was light. My husband had the roast beef po boy and seasoned fries. He really enjoyed the half po boy and some of the best seasoned fries he has ever had. The fries were good in the gravy also! Highly recommend if you are in the Monroe area! read more
