I've been going to Brooke for a few years now and she just moved to Hazel and Harley. I had my…read morefirst visit to the salon last week. The location is really great. It's a neighborhood vibe with a few restaurants, breweries, and shops nearby. Plenty of neighborhood street parking around it. The salon is cute. Spacious, lots of plants and sunlight. They carry a ton of products you can purchase. I would recommend this salon to anyone and especially Brooke. She does amazing blonding work. I'm a brunette and she was blonding me for a while. She is an expert and I trust her opinions. I got a gloss this time and my blowout looked amazing after.

If you're looking to transform your hair from water to H2O, this salon has you covered. Add wasted…read moretime, money, and sanity to the mix, and you've got the full Hazel & Harley experience, fully hosted by hairstylist Brandon. My initial hair consultation with Brandon felt warm and professional. We discussed my hair history and goals, and after sharing a reference photo, we aligned on a balayage service. I paid a cash deposit and left genuinely excited, counting down the days for a much-needed change. Unfortunately, that excitement was short-lived. On the day of the service, Brandon's demeanor was completely different. He was quiet and disengaged. Halfway through the process, I noticed things looked off, his technique didn't resemble any balayage I'd received in the past. My hair was minimally foiled or layered. I showed him the reference photo again, hoping to steer things back on track, but by the time he finished, the results were miles away from what we discussed. The service felt rushed and careless. I left the salon looking nearly identical to how I walked in, aside from a slight root color correction. When I voiced my concerns, Brandon admitted he had rushed the service due to overbooking. We discussed a follow-up appointment to get it fixed, which he framed as a "complimentary touch-up" though let's be honest, it was clearly a redo for a poorly executed job. Still, I gave him another chance, hoping he'd take the opportunity to deliver the quality he had originally promised. Spoiler alert: he didn't. Brandon kept rescheduling the follow-up, often at the last minute. I rearranged work, childcare, and personal plans to accommodate his availability, only to be canceled on without proper notice. Rightfully, I decided not to pursue another attempt. The work should've been done properly the first time, and I no longer had time to waste. Brandon agreed to issue a refund, which at that point felt like the bare minimum. But even that turned into a drawn-out hassle. Communication with him became frustrating and, frankly, bizarre. Instead of taking responsibility for a service he had already acknowledged was rushed and not up to his own standards, Brandon had the audacity to reframe the situation in his favor. He prioritized only his time and implied the issue was with my hair. He portrayed the refund as some kind of generous favor, claiming that other stylists wouldn't have even offered one. Apparently, I was expected to be grateful and wait patiently on his terms and timeline. This entire ordeal has been unnecessarily long and deeply frustrating. I've allowed more than enough time for a professional resolution. The salon has ignored the issue entirely and taken zero responsibility. How this has been handled speaks volumes about their professionalism or lack thereof, and how little they truly value the customer experience. Honestly, I still can't tell what was more overdone, Brandon's ego or audacity. Either way, both came through loud and clear... unlike the balayage!

It has been a long time since she has had a professional cut. Thank you Maya for taking such good care of her. The staff was friendly and provided us drinks and good conversation. I visited this shop around 6 or 7 times. The first few visits with one stylist abruptly ended when…read moreshe made a major mistake and I had to request a correction. When I pointed out the mistake, she said she would no longer do my hair, and referred me to another stylist. This was insulting but I nevertheless scheduled a correction appointment with the 2nd stylist who explained the error made by the first stylist, why my hair looked like it did, and how she could fix it. Even though Stylist 1 made the mistake which was clearly conveyed by Stylist 2, I decided to let the 1st stylist off the hook and paid for a consult rather than having a correction on her proverbial 'record'. There was nothing the 2nd stylist could do to fix it at that moment anyway and I didn't want any awkward encounters with the other stylist going forward. I just wanted her to fix my hair and then maintain it. After 3 visits with Stylist 2, my hair was 'fixed' and we were humming along. There were a few more mistakes made but nothing major and I never said anything about them. Stylist 2 indicated it would be getting easier since she'd mapped out exactly where to apply the color going forward. When I attempted to schedule my 7th visit, the salon said they were going to have to increase my fees to a full custom color rather than the partial foil I'd received in the prior 6-7 visits. I had been getting a reverse highlight applying color to small sections (low-lights, basically) which was considered (by Hendrix) to be a partial foil from Day 1. I argued that neither the process nor the time involved had changed and I saw no reason to increase my already top tier fee. I was also frustrated at being rescheduled 3 times and it was seeming as though they would rather lose a client than continue to do my hair. I'm really disappointed because my hair was getting really good and I was excited for the next visit but they rescheduled two appointments and then with the third call to AGAIN reschedule and push my appt further out, sprang the price increase on me...and that was the last straw. Their response when I indicated I would not be rescheduling their latest cancelation was "we understand your decision". You understand my decision? You didn't even make any effort to help me understand yours. And I just want to note that I didn't mention the names of the two stylists because I'm not vindictive and I don't believe in public shaming of anyone regardless of the circumstances but suffice it to say I definitely did not feel valued as a customer. If that changes, I'll let ya know.
