I enjoy vasa and really like the aq6a zumba instructor Jessica at the Riverton location. But I wish I could give 0 stars for the poop at vasa I swear it's closed more than it's open and that gets extremely frustrating with how pricey the membership is .I mainly use this gym for the water aerobics class. Man OH MAN! Vasa has a circuit training program that reminds me of another circuit training program... I got my heart rate up to 190 bpm and I burned 670 calories in 45 minutes! They have 4 stations, TRX, treadmills, dumbbells amd wind bikes??? Ian was our trainer tonight. You can schedule from your Vasa app. This is my nee jam. For longer than 3 years I saw charges on my credit card from vasa, but kept thinking it was my college kids (4) who were on and off at Vasa. Finally, I had all my kids kicked off my credit card and there was still a charge. We figured out it was in my husbands' name (long story ) since he didn't know he had it he had never gone. Turns out we had an email from Vasa in the spring of 2020 saying, "we stopped your account (quarantine time) we won't start up your account until you come back in and start it." Despite what this emial said Vasa started charging again for over 3 years before we figured it out. It was a hassle to stop and they wouldn't refund out money or anything. They are trash. I sent the email of proof and they just didn't care. They get away with unlawful action because all the little people (me) don't have time to fight for nearly 2k $$$. My husband would have been happy with a credit in the form of a membership. Instead, I will put this review everywhere possible. read more

I'm so tired of these guys having frequent issues with the hot water. This has been an ongoing issue with very poor communication. It's always at the most random times and there's no construction happening in the bathroom. Starting to wonder if it's a strategy to keep attendance lower. no kettle bells over 50 pounds are allowed to be used by regular members. All of the kettle bells over 50 pounds are in the area where you need to be assisted by a personal trainer. In my opinion anybody who can lift the kettle bell over 50 pounds shouldn't have to use the assistance of a personal trainer to be able to do it. When I asked if I could access them and put them back they told me no. This is the first location that I have been to where they literally hold pieces of equipment hostage to make you train with a personal Trainer. Only one squat rack, and sauna only goes up to 160. There is a redundancy of equipment that doesn't get used and everyone seems to be waiting for the same stuff. read more

After paying to cancel my membership in March of 2022, i am still being charged for a membership. i have personally gone into the gym and talked with "managers" 3 times and Vasa continues to help themselves to my account. When i call Paramount acceptance i am put on hold until i give up. (I believe this is on purpose). Today i am going to my bank to report fraudulent activity. This place is... unpleasant. I love the gym and I was looking forward to a new one with classes and room to grow and improve my workouts. This place is not the place to get that. It's a CROWDED meat market. The machines are always taken and the free weights are as well. Don't give them your money especially if you plan on going after or before work. Staff was nice. The machines are always taken by young people who are just doing videos and selfies, they are not even working out on the machines. It is annoying. The bathroom and locker room has been taken over by girls doing videos and when you tell the front desk they act like this is the first time they are hearing it when I have complained numerous times about it. Half their equipment is broken on a regular basis so I have to wait for treadmills, stair climbers, any cable machine etc. I submitted a complaint to the place their employees told me to and instead of only 1/3 of the equipment being busted at all times now 3 weeks later 1/2 of their stuff is broken and the things I reported are still all broken aside from the racquetball court which I don't know how you break a racquetball court but vasa managed to do it. Just canceled my membership and it cost me a few months of fees to do that. Find a gym that doesn't squeeze you for every penny and only deliver 50% of what they promised. read more

the front desk whipped through a quick sign up for one person and addition companions . understood it to be 1 membership and 17 more for add on which should have been around 27.00 a month . then a one time 50.00 fee they call " rate lock in " . what came out of my account was 49.00 and 100.00 rate lock in. went in to the front desk to get help and " call CS " which we all know for Vasa means a " black hole " . 6 hours later I get a call back . no help but down graded to a 9.99 membership for one and asked for a refund for the " rate lock " on the canceled and they said NO! bait and switch tactics read more

This location is charging over $450.00 in unauthorized fees from my fiancee, which their general manager, Davis Young *specifically* told her would be waived. If you're considering signing up at Vasa, use *extreme* caution. Details are below, and similar reviews will be left with the BBB, Vasa Corporate and Google. My fiancee visited the gym interested in signing up for basic access. She was given a tour of the gym by Davis, during which he spend a lot of time talking about the perks. He then mentioned personal training classes, which he mentioned that they were $45 a session. We're saving for a wedding and can't afford that kind of specialized training, so my fiancee told him that she might consider it after the wedding. His response was that she should sign up for personal training now, then followed up with "the first month will be on me." He then said she could cancel the personal training membership immediately after signing up. She was interested in trying the training and said okay. She was then brought to their membership sign on station and Davis continued to talk all about the perks of the location and their member amenities. He suddenly turned a computer around and asked her to sign a contract. She wasn't told what was in the contract, or given time to read it over. She wasn't told of all the charges (basic membership, plus $450 in training). Davis told her to sign, and she trusted him and did. We've since cancelled the membership, having gone to the location three times and used two personal training sessions. Because Davis had told her to call and cancel the training membership after signing, she did. She paid for the two training sessions that she was specifically told were free ($90) and paid a cancellation fee. A day later, she received the below email (image attached) saying that she owed for 4 more weeks of unused personal training time. I called the location and spoke specifically with Davis. He stated that "she did sign the contract" and though he put a freeze on her account, there was nothing that he could do as a general manager to reimburse the $360 of unused, unwanted personal training. When I asked if she had been given time to read the contract before signing, and made aware exactly what she was paying, he only said "she signed the contract." Be *very* wary if you're considering signing up at this location - my fiancee's coworker had the exact same thing done to her at this gym. Davis Young has thus far refused to help with what are very questionable membership and business practices. This post will be updated if VASA Fitness can provide a resolution. read more

Just a head's up VASA Fitness is a scam!! They sign you up and then don't tell you things after the fact.... My Wife and I walked into the VASA Fitness (Riverton, UT) last week to get signed up and so we could go and work out together when she got off work. We were told that we could sign up for the $50 a month plan, get a month free and then download grade to the $21.00 a month plan with no added charges. What I found out after the fact was that the guy (Matt) didn't tell us about the $9.99 a month plan which I'm guessing he did on purpose and so he had a bigger commission from the sale. I walked into the Draper location a couple nights ago and talked to one of their sales peoples and explained I saw on their website the $9.99 price and she said she couldn't help me and so I talked to one of their managers there who said that there was a $25.00 cancellation fee to downgrade. (Again nothing that we knew about when we signed up!!!) I called over to Riverton the next day and talked to their manager Jamie who told me that the downgrade fee was free but they were going to hit us for $50.00 per person ($100.00) for a rate guarantee fee which again was never told to us when we signed up by this "Matt" guy. After 3 hours of waiting for Jamie to talk to someone at the Corporate office Jamie was finally able to cancelle our account. I called their Corporate office this morning to talk to one of their managers about what happened with my interactions with Matt (the guy who signed us up), Jamie (Manager at Riverton) and the Manager and the Sales person at Draper. The girl put me on hold for a good 10 minutes only to find out that their supervisor looked my account and refused to talk to me. When I asked to talk to the manager who could resolve my issues and hear me out what happened I was denied. Yep! Vasa Fitness Corporate Office management won't talk to their customers because they are scared too, or they are told not to. Great company huh? I won't ever do business with VASA fitness and I'm letting all my friends and family know what kind of sleezebag operation these people are running. It's not right that they see you as a dollar sign when you walk into the front door and then they sign you up only to find out you signed up for stuff you had no idea you were going to be paying for. read more

The employees could be more professional. They are always goofing off and don't care about helping the customers. Often, off the clock employees will be working out in the gym and then go behind the desk distracting the working employees. Trying to get their attention is difficult because they are not paying attention to their job. When you do ask for help or have a question they are reluctant and then go back to chatting. None of them are ever cleaning. They are only on their phones, doing dance moves or goofing off with each other. It would be a lot more pleasant to work out there if the employees were more professional. read more

This location is getting ridiculous. For the last several months 2 of the 5 womens toilets are broken. As of 5 days ago, down to 2 working & as of today 1 toilet is working. This is the same situation for stair climbers, 3 of the 6 have been broken for months & another is barely hanging on. At least 8 treadmills are broken and have been for at least 6+ months. Vasa isnt doing anything about it fixing their equipment or toilets. Health hazard? read more

Riverton, UT: Oh Vasa, if only I could give you higher ratings. The good: the facilities are fantastic - most if not all of the machines are nice and new. They have a small swimming pool, basketball court, and racquetball courts. Overall the amenities get a high score. The bad: boy oh boy does it get super crowded here. Avoid peak exercise times or you'll get to wait for every one of the machines. The ugly: I'm pretty sure they pick employees based on lack of customer service skills, cluelessness, and overall disregard of gym patrons. If you ever dare to ask the front desk a question, you'll likely to be met with either a blank stare or a rather flippant attitude. If you want to ask for help on a machine, you will literally have to wait several minutes because the front desk will point you to a trainer who will then point you back to the front desk. And if you ever hope for any sort of consistency in their protocols, you're better off trying to win the Powerball in a neighboring state. If you ever bring a guest, the rules will change every single time: sometimes they'll require an ID, on other occasions they won't, and once in a while, they'll decide to keep your ID at the front desk - something I've literally only seen when test driving cars. You see, Vasa doesn't give a crap about the liability of keeping important information in full view of everyone. Finally, be prepared for the short term memory of the employees. The same person who checks you in will again ask for your ID right after you check in. Bottom line: I'll keep frequenting this gym because it's cheap and does the job but I'd appreciate if Vasa got its crap together and offered better service. read more

I'm writing this review because I went on a trip to California and trained at several of the gyms there and was quiet displeased. I longed to return home and train at Vasa. I've been training here for 2 years and it has changed my life for the better and I cannot overstate how important physical fitness is in my life. I am fortunate enough to have a schedule that allows me to train before people swarm this place after work. Even when it is busy, I am still able to get an excellent workout. They have abundance of equipment at many of their locations and they have plenty of fantastic amenities (pool,sauna,steam,tanning) that make my gym-going experience phenomenal. For 20$ a month, I am happy to say i am a member of Vasa Fitness. read more

I suppose you get what you pay for at $9 a month it's hard to expect much. But I'd rather pay more and get to belong to a gym that cares at least a little about the condition of the gym. The employees all seem to congregate at the front desk and I applaud the efforts of those that greet you when you check in however there is a whole gym that is being neglected. I don't see this so much as a employee problem but its obviously a management problem.. the kids at the front have no direction or are only told to say hello and that's it apparently. I go to the newer location in Riverton not because it's the closest to me as I live in Draper but because it was new and I hoped it would be in better condition and taken better care of than the other locations I have attended such as the Draper, Provo on 9th, Van Winkle, South Jordan and Day Break locations. But to my dismay after just 8 months of going to this location its disheartening to see how fast this once new gym has and is deteriorating. For example: The machines that were once in nice rows with racks to store weights are now in complete disarray. A quick look at the benches and smith machine racks that you have to practically step over the decline benches to get around and you will see what I mean. I have actually stayed late on a weekend night to straighten these benches and machines before and never once has an employee offered to help they just chat away at the front like they are on permanent recess. Weights are here and there and no-one not even the trainers seem to care to re rack the weights. Now I can understand a new member who it is there first time at a gym not knowing to re-Rack their weights but that is something the sales staff could teach a new member when the sign up. Or have a staff member patrolling the gym asking members to re -rack there weights.. After all every other gym I've been to does exactly that and after a few times members get the message and do it on their own creating a nice efficient gym for the members. Especially helping the women that have to unload 8 or 900 lbs off of a leg press machine. The floors area all very dusty if you drop a towel (something everyone should carry to wipe off a machine but at this gym it is not required) when you pick it up it will be grey from the filth. Go in to the restrooms and locker rooms and the same lack of attention is even more obvious. The cheaply done floors have fake wood laminate that is peeling up. The cause of this is from soaking wet members coming from the pool without drying off. Now this sees like common sense but the facts show it isn't and a sign is needed as is a few reminders from employees to these ignorant members. The lockers have doors falling off the hinges.. I've reattached at least 20 of them over the last 8 months many lockers don't have latches for a lock or if they do it only has 1 screw holding it on and slides back into the locker. Call the cabinet installer back and have him finish the job! On the all the urinals there were once advertisements. Those have been pulled off and horrible patches in the wall were attempted 3-4 months ago but never painted over (this would take approx 15-20 min for anyone to repair) I sent in a review once at the request of an email from this gym and received a response that did not address anything I said in fact it mentioned something I didn't. It said we are sorry there was n one at the front to check you in the employees may have been busy helping members in the gym.. I had to laugh at the complete disregard and concern for a gym that the owners had spend hundreds of thousands of dollars to build and have entrusted it to what appears to be employees that not only don't care but maybe are enjoying watching it all fall apart. On a positive note the sales manager Art is professional and was a great help. He went above and beyond to renew my membership and also when i expressed some concerns he took it personally and i saw quick changes. Only to see things go back to normal now tat i don't see him tat this location anymore In short you get what you pay for,, but once my contract is up I'll be switching to a gym that mat cost more but cares about its members and the quality of the gym itself. read more

One star because of a super rude front desk girl. I just got yelled at for staying in the locker room 10 minutes after closing time. On top of yelling at me and huffing and puffing, the girl (white brunette with shoulder long hair in a pony tail and glasses) turned the lights off in the locker room, which made it so hard to get dressed and leave. I've been a Vasa member for 4 years, but I think I'll start avoiding Riverton gym from now on, possibly look for another gym that is open 24 hours or at least longer than 4, 4 pm is ridiculous closing time. read more

Gym is great. Employees are great. Lap pool is not. Pool is on a sensor to auto-fill when water evaporates. However, the water coming in is ice cold, making it difficult to acclamate to the water temperature. In the winter, especially, it makes for a shivering swim. All of the Vasas have this same system, according to their pool maintenance person and gym managers. read more

My new favorite thing: TEAM training! I tell everyone I know to try one out. I've always been pretty active, but I work harder in a group setting (think crossfit or orange theory). It's a small group, the fit trainer is there with a prepared work out, everyone motivates each other to keep going, and I always end up sore the next day I count that as a win! I've been going to Milo's class on Wednesday's and I refuse to miss it - he is great at motivating, coaching, and keeping the energy up! I highly recommend it! read more

I signed up with VASA Riverton in June 2019, and included a trainer. On August 5, I contacted VASA and told them I wanted to end my personal training sessions and stop the automatic deductions as they owed me 8 sessions that I'd paid for AND had not received. I was told that they would cancel all future deductions starting that day. Today VASA charged me another $140.00 for more training sessions (they still owe me 8). When I contacted VASA, Ashely told me to call corporate and they would refund my money. When I asked for her to clarify, she again stated that corporate would refund my money. When I tried to clarify further (due to my previous conversation on 8/5, and asked for the manager, Ashley said nothing in response and hung up on me. I called back 5 times and let the phone ring but no one would pick up. VASA now owes me 12 sessions of personal training. VASA has not only violated their services contract with me by not providing me services already paid for, they have lied about ending my training services, and continue to take my money without providing services as promised. And to add insult to injury, my trainer didn't even show up for my last session with him, and didn't even contact me...he just didn't show up! if I just didn't show up, I'd get charged! VASA is fraudulent in their representation of services. They take money and don't provide services as promised in their contract. Shams and scams! read more

Each year Vasa fitness charges their members a $50 maintenance fee but for some reason they can't find the money to pay someone to go into the locker rooms and clean the mold growing on just about everything. The showers all have black mold around the doors and cracks. The sinks look the same way. Even some of the lockers are disgusting. This location needs to figure their out. read more
