I've been a member at Lifetime on and off for years (had to quit due to COVID during its peak) , and joining back up with this gym compared to others has really reminded me why I keep wanting to come back. The staff here have been nothing short of professional, warm, and helpful. The gym feels clean and open and even at its busiest hours, you can almost always find machines open or room to do your own workouts without waiting for something to clear up. The cafe has delicious food and protein shakes, and plenty of offerings if you're looking for something less hefty but still guilt free for your food restrictions. I love Life Time and it's helped elevate my experience as a gym rat. ;) read more

I think my opinion on this gym depends on who you are/ what lifestyle you live. Personally, I'm on the younger side, so the cost you pay vs the amenities is not worth it for me. They offer childcare, and a lot of classes which I think draws in more families and an older crowd (nothing wrong with this). I think if you fit in that category it could be a good gym for you - your kids to socialize, you to have childcare (not sure if this is an additional expense). If you want a gym where you get all amenities and want to utilize them, this is for you. They have athletic trainers and stretch stations. If you're looking for a gym where you show up, workout and leave, I would consider a cheaper option. I will say this gym is two floors. The first being the cafe, hair salon, front desk, childcare, pickleball courts and locker rooms. The second being the classes and equipment. It is incredibly small for the amount of guests they have. There is no open floor plan- instead you are walking through equipment, machines and people working out to get to where you want to be. It is incredibly crowded. There is no turf area which was disappointing. The locker rooms are huge and spacious. I have not done a class, but have heard they're upbeat and a ton of fun. You get four guest passes per month but each guest can only come one every sixty days. Other gyms, you can bring the same guest over and over. At my age, no kids, early in my career, this is not where I want to spend my money. They are said to be opening 4 new locations in Utah, so maybe they will get other equipment and a bigger space, but as of now I will pass. read more

If you can afford it, it's not a bad gym. Their classes are fun and upbeat and they have great qualified trainers, however everyone seems to be realizing this because it's picked up quite a bit and even though the space is huge it gets very busy and it's hard to find parking. In being fair I think three stars is an accurate rating for what I've experienced and witnessed. I've been a member here for many many years. I personally think it's maybe the nicest facility of all the gyms I've personally been to and I've toured or been a member of 24 hr. Fitness, vasa, and several smaller local gyms. It's huge. It's has incredible facilities for the kids of all ages, indoor and outdoor pool, so many nice amenities for its members to pamper themselves after their workouts. Classes, pickleball, basketball, soccer, rock climbing, racquetball, huge cardio are and weights area, yoga and on and on. It's also the most expensive place in Utah I believe and continues to rise in price every year. My main issue with this facility is that it's clear it's run like a lot of large corporations where they treat both their employees and customers like expenses rather than assets. I think I've note witnessed several customers and a few staff express concerns to management regarding several different areas of issue always to be discounted and never shown any level of value. There are nice employees there but it's obvious also there isn't a lot of thought and detail put into training and helping staff know how to elevate a customers experience in how they interact with them. We've been Lifetime members at several locations. This one is just about the same as all the others, with the addition of pickleball and an amazing outdoor facilities area (turf, futbol). The only downsides are that the Alpha class does take up as many platforms as they need during class hours (which are generally during peak hours in the morning), and the steamrooms are closed with no resolution. The outdoor pool, that you have to pay extra for, is also swarmed with kids during the entire summer. Staff is all generally nice and not-intimidating. Wouldn't recommend the Lifespa as my partner had the worst haircut of his life there. Lifecafe is amazing and staff there are really nice. read more

During Covid things have changed regarding how you use this gym. Not in a bad way but just be aware if you are thinking of joining. When you enter you have to use your mask, there is a temperature check plus they scan your member id. After that you can make your way to the locker room to drop off your stuff before you head on upstairs to get your workout on. I've attended many a gym in the 20+ years I've worked out. Lifetime does a nice job of keeping sanitary wipes stocked, the bathrooms clean, the equipment dust free and running, and overall its a nice space to get your sweat on. With Covid they have also done a great job keeping everything clean and keeping folks safe during the pandemic. I'm grateful I've been able to go to Lifetime this past year. It's been a great outlet during these crazy times! Overall, I would recommend this gym! read more

I've been visiting on a visitors pass with a friend this week. We're trying to decide if I join her at Eos or if I she joins me at Vasa. Today made my decision. I'm staying at Vasa. Today at Eos the music overhead was so loud, I couldn't hear what was playing in my air pods. I try to multi task and listen to broadcasts I need to listen to for work while I work out and I couldn't hear them at all over the Eos music. My Apple Watch was also warning me that the music was too loud to be safe. It's a nice gym, but Vasa is a bit more quiet. read more

Used to absolutely love LifeTime Gym. Me and my family originally joined them because it was the Only Gym in the SLC valley that had an All Night Gym and Pool. We joined for the Pool. To have a Gym that catered to our late hours and had a Pool for exercise, and showers, etc... It was so perfect. It was 5 Stars back in 2016 when we joined. Was for many yrs until 2020 after the Pandemic. Then staff changed, CEO's changed hrs to 11PM, and Rules and MORE Ridiculous Rules were constantly being added each week/month. To the point they've had a LOT of ppl withdraw their memberships. Including our family. We were getting treated so poorly in the last few months by staff, and Managers. Even having Email arguments with the current lady Manager, Bridgette McIver. She's incredibly rude, snotty, and determined to play by the CEO's wishes then to cater to Customers who had been there for many years. What a disgrace this place has become. I bet anything, the CEO's never see these reviews. But thank god the Public will. read more

This used to be a great gym and well worth the price, but it has gotten worse year by year ever since Bridgette became manager of this location. Our guest passes are useless and ridiculously limited, which means we can't enjoy the facilities with our friends. Prices have continued to climb while the facilities have gotten worse and less accessible. We'll be pausing our membership until Bridgette no longer manages this location. read more

I've been going to this Life Time location since it opened (like 15 years ago). For over a decade, this was a 5-star facility in every way. Unfortunately, over the last five or so years, it's gone increasingly downhill. I'd say it's now probably a 3-star facility (for the price you pay) with 2-star management (local/corporate). While they do a good job of maintaining facilities and equipment, they continue to make decisions that frustrate myself and many other members I talk to. Here are some examples: * Price--Membership rates have nearly DOUBLED since I joined, and yet, the club somehow seems to only be getting worse and more crowded. * Hours--While rates have increased, the club is not even open 24/7 anymore. * Floor Plan--Weightlifting equipment has been squished into a tight area to make room for an "open floor" and crossfit-style equipment that is used significantly less than the weight training equipment. * Equipment--Some of the most popular equipment (such as one of the cable cross machines and a shoulder press machine) was removed and never replaced. * Basketball--This used to be THE place for basketball. At one point, current and former NBA players could occasionally be seen here. Not anymore. This is no longer a place for people who want to play basketball. They used to have 4 courts, and 3 of them have now been replaced with pickleball courts. The single remaining court is always packed, and is sometimes closed so that the kids program can use it (even though they already have an entire dedicated kids area, unused studios, racquetball courts that are used infrequently, and an entire outdoor area). Additionally, this causes the floor to get dusty and slippery. * Pool--The outdoor pool is only open for 3-months out of the year (Memorial Day to Labor Day), even though the weather is probably warm enough for it to be open longer. Additionally, I believe members may now have to pay extra just to use the outdoor pool. * Hot Tubs--The hot tubs used to be so much better. It's common for one of them to be closed (and the open one to be packed), some of the jets to be off, or for the water level to be super low (especially in the outdoor hot tub). The indoor ones also used to have waterfalls which were really nice to sit under. * Wi-Fi--The Wi-Fi is hardly usable during peak hours (and it doesn't help that it's kind of a cellular dead-zone too). I'm not sure how many of these changes were the decision of local management versus corporate, but either way, they are not good decisions. Most (if not all) of the members I talk to seem to agree, so it makes me wonder what they are even basing the decisions off of (I don't think they are surveying local members). Management seems increasingly out-of-touch with members here. In the past, I knew most of the management here, because they were always walking around the club, talking to members, kept their office doors open, etc. It seemed like they listened to members and genuinely wanted to provide a premier experience. That doesn't seem to be the case anymore. To be honest, most of these issues would probably be alleviated by having additional Life Time locations in the area. The Salt Lake metro area is long overdue for additional Life Time locations, and it seems like they have tried to make this club work for hundreds of people rather than building more facilities with more amenities. This seems to have backfired, because in trying to appeal to everyone, this gym is no longer really ideal for anyone. I love this club and am a loyal fan of the Life Time brand as a whole. However, ever since Life Time went public as a company, everything seems to be about cutting costs and padding their profits, no longer about the customers who are actually paying the bills. Not once have I ever questioned my membership, until this year. The unfortunate reality is that it's still the best option in the area--and you'd expect to pay more because of that--but it's definitely lacking the value that it used to have. read more

Great gym, except for the pools. They do not cater to younger kids who are chasing dreams and trying to accomplish goals. The continuously harass my kids about lap swimming. Both my kids started competitive swimming when they were six years old. They are excellent at swimming. Could out swim 98% of the adults in the lap pool. In a society where kids are not pushed any more, Lifetime Fitness can and should be better. read more

It has absolutely everything that I need in a gym as well as an indoor and outdoor pool and spa and it just feels like home. every time I come here if I'm in a bad mood I always leave in a good mood. I like the cycling class, barbell class, yoga and the glute class. All of the teachers/instructors are awesome. I'm really having a hard time with how dirty this facility is. You never see any of the staff cleaning any of the machines or equipment. I just moved from Vegas and paid $10 a month at the planet fitness. That gym was spotless minus having a pool and classes. I am unsure about the men's restroom. But the women's restroom downstairs is filthy. It always has a pee smell in the restroom. There are four stalls compared to the thousands of stinky bodies that come through there every day. Toilet paper on the floor. Maybe have some seat covers for the toilets. And someone cleaning hourly. And I don't know if you know this. The stalls have gaps. The lady next to me can see me peeing. Also, I love the food in the café. However, I think your employees need to go through food handlers training again. I watched one of the employees who was wearing gloves touching food, grab his friends water bottle to fill it up, after he just picked up his kid at the daycare, with his gloves still on. Filled up the water bottle and handed it back. Then I watched him put his hand in the food yikes. Cleaning the gym more, and having clean hand etiquette training is a must. read more

Facilities/equipment is dated for a "luxury" gym. Really no reason to pay the high monthly ask with newer/cheaper facilities in SLC county that offer objectively better equipment (e.g., EŌS-Taylorsville). This location capitalizes off of the Lifetime name/brand but is the lowest quality in terms of LFT tier offerings (gold, platinum, diamond, etc.). Convenient location if you live in South Jordan, childcare offering is a plus, and two full-size basketball courts are nice. Workplace culture (second hand personal trainer experience) is extremely toxic and borders on a cult...can confirm that roughly 90% of the personal training staff makes poverty wages ($10.15 per/hour or less) and are grossly over staffed. read more

This place is AWESOME. I have never enjoyed going to the gym ever in my life. But with Life Time Fitness, I find myself longing for work to be over just so that I can go enjoy the gym. I'm a huge fan of the sauna/steam room/hot tubs and often spend a good amount of time in them after my workouts. Both the men's and women's locker rooms have a sauna/steam room, plus there's a sauna out by the pool near the two large hot tubs. I tend to be on the germaphobic side and this is hands-down the cleanest gym I've ever been to. There's no stale, stinky gym-air either. Plus, all kids' stuff is awesome, my son is going to love going to Life Time. There's almost too much to list like the racquetball courts, climbing walls, spa, etc. All the staff we've interacted with have been super professional and helpful. When we went to Life Time Fitness for a tour Rich Aldrich was super awesome and answered all our questions while giving us a tour of this massive facility and continued to answer questions I had when I called or emailed him. Definitely my favorite gym ever. If you're looking to get into shape, this is a great place to do it. read more

Lifetime is a great club. Swim lanes are always open, pool temp is perfect for a lap swim workout. The hot tub is amazing, always clean. Front desk kids are always with a hello and smile. Spoke with the club manager regarding the pool temp a few months ago. She listened to my suggestion and looked into the problem. The Pool temp was fixed the following week. Kids club closes at 2 fri sat and Sunday. The time we'd need it they close. The staff is rude the gym is slammed and the trainers are super pushy and then try to force you off equipment. Here's my top ten things I like about this gym: 10) Parking. It's plentiful and well-lit. 9) Music. It's upbeat and fun without being obnoxious. 8) Hot tubs. One for adults only and one for 12+. 7) Steam room. Clean and easily accessible through the locker rooms. 6) Mobile app. I can scan using my phone (it only logs about 75% of visits though) 5) Availability of equipment. I rarely have to wait. 4) Classes. Zumba and High Fitness are my favorites. 3) The people. Most everyone is friendly-even to those of us that don't look like fitness models. 2) Location & hours. Such a great facility but they have ruined our families experience with cutting the basketball court in half and now EVERY Saturday the ENTIRE court is reserved for little kids until 8pm. It's ridiculous and so frustrating when our family pays just like everyone else but the ONE thing they love to do, they can't access. Please fix this Lifetime, at least leave half the court open for others when these events are scheduled or cut to two Saturdays a month, not every single one. read more

The convenience is hard to beat, but the overall cleanliness and service has gone downhill in the past year. About half of the new equipment is sub par to some of the older equipment that has been moved out and I'm one that welcomes change. In the past year I have gone from feeling like a member to feeling like a number. This place could be a lifetime platinum facility, but it's far from a gold nowadays. I used to work there. I got abused by the management and the gym is super average if not below average if you're looking at the equipment based on how much money you pay for the membership. Now, if you decide to get the membership, don't get fooled by any extra services - personal trainers there are trying to get as much money out of you for little service. Most trainers there are hired based on how much sales they can get off people, and have very little to do with their actual qualifications or the ability to train/write a training program. They want to charge you up to 110 dollars for 1 hour of training, you are better off going to vasa or eos fitness and getting a much better service from people that will probably care way more about your health than the "trainers" at lifetime!!!! Also, WiFi barely works, gym is mostly dirty and the attitude that you get from most people there is unbearable. read more

Somewhat reluctantly I'm a member of Lifetime Fitness - they are just very close to where I live and have a higher cleanliness standard than say, Vasa. Pros: Lots of classes, pools, sauna, clean locker rooms, lots of extras like basketball courts, swimming pools, cafe, salon. Lots of workout equipment. Usually friendly front-desk staff. Cons: So many members that equipment is often in use during peak times, they didn't respond to feedback I submitted, and one of their trainers chewed me out for showing my nephews how to squat. Oh man, where do I start with this place... I should have done my research before even walking foot into this facility. Now I know why they have horrible reviews on google (3.4) and their consumer affairs is a 1.5... STAY THE HELL AWAY from this place. What a freaking joke and scam this place is. My wife and I's good friend convinced us to join because of the upscale and the opportunity for the kids to have a great place to hang with her kids and do the summer camp. While sitting in with their sales rep, I was completely up front with her about me and what I do for a living (Nutritionist)... WHY you might ask? Because I don't have anything to hide and I am not joining a $180 a month gym to "train people." Probably the stupidest thing I have heard yet being in the wonderful industry. I DON'T Train anyone in person because that is not what I do for a living, thank you for your ridiculous prejudgment... But it gets better! My wife and I were working out with her friend and I was approached by the said: Sales rep (Who funny enough, is now upper management) Saying I am training people in their gym and have been witnessed by the trainers. I said, that just isn't true whatsoever and she said: "Well you're giving them way too much information and helping them out and it is against our policy." My response was: "So helping my wife out with her form is against your policy?" I am sorry, what? I am completely mind boggled. She handed me a piece of paper and when I clarified this conversion, she became complete unglued with her ridiculous attitude, like she was better than me, not to mention her professionalism (upper management, Ha) went out the window. A member that I didn't know asked me if she really just acted like that and treated me like a pos and wanted to know what it was about. And I said up, she did. Because your establishment treats their guest with such disrespect I didn't want to ever step foot in a place like this again, nor did I want to give them my hard earned money. So, I called their corporate office, and they have pretty much told me to go f&ck off and I wouldn't be getting my money back which I asked for... A FULL REFUND: My prorated first monthly, my second month and my entire down payment of $210. They were able to give me my $75 back, but not my down payment of $210, so the battle begins. STAY AS FAR AWAY FROM THIS PLACE AS YOU CAN. Go to the Tree House gym or XF or hell, I bet you get better customer service at Vasa than this place. Because you guys are the rudest, most pre-judgmental gym (Can't teach my wife something new in the gym) you have lost out on $2,160 a year gym membership for my family, your summer camp for my boys $5,600 for two months, and the massages my wife had scheduled after her first one. And I will pass along the message to everyone I know or come across, to say away from this place. 4/10 update: I reached out to corporate yesterday... Bev told me her boss was Bridget Smith which I reached out to leaving a voicemail. She did not return my call. Used to love walking in and getting greeted with a smile, unfortunately the new girl that works most nights is giving you dirty looks the second you walk in, and than rudely tells you the gym is closing soon even if it's an hour and a half till closing. Love the facilities but the rude employee that scans you in is really just a mood damper to deal with every night, between that and the membership fee it's to the point me we are considering a new facility. read more
