VASA is a Billing Nightmare & a Total Rip-off! I am absolutely fuming. This gym's pricing structure is nothing short of extortion. They claim there's no annual fee, but that's a blatant lie--they just rename it a "Price Lock Fee" and charge it even after you've quit. Between the fake fees, the "cancellation fee," and the "30-day notice" double-dip, you'll be paying for months after you've stepped foot out the door. It is impossible to leave without getting robbed. Do not give these people your credit card information unless you want to be harassed by charges for the rest of your life! read more

Vasa has all of the amenities I like in a gym like a pool, steam room, massage chairs, and tanning along with a plethora of equipment and free weights. Most gyms either don't have as many amenities or cost three times the amount for a basic membership. I will say, no matter what VASA I visit I think the steam room is pretty finicky and sometimes isn't working despite it not being close to closing time. The church ranch blvd seems to be the most consistently good one though. I only wish they had one a little closer to Golden. read more

This location is convenient to my home. I have yet to find a time when it does not seem packed. It seems as though VASA could use another location someplace to help spread the attendance. There are several machines down-- and have been down for quite some time. Several treadmills have signs saying they're working on them, but they've been in need of repair for a couple weeks now... Some machines are highly sought after, and it seems as though more folks could use them if others weren't sitting at the machines on their phones. I'm all for a 30- or 60-second break as needed, but some are there to do their sets and move on. Be courteous of other people waiting to use the machines by not spending ample time on your phone. There are wipe stations located around the gym, but not everyone uses them. It's quite gross. I've seen clients as well as coaches leave machines sweaty from use and not wipe them down afterwards. I try to make sure to wipe whatever equipment I use before and after because you can't guarantee others have done the right thing. There are various amenities one can use depending on their membership. I have the top tier membership but personally have never used the tanning beds, massage chairs, etc. As far as I know, the massage chairs are available for only a 10-minute period of time and must be requested at the front desk for use. There are also coolers and a very tiny section of merchandise available near the front desk should you forget your water bottle, need an energy bar or supplements, or want a new hoodie or the like. read more

Vasa CONTINE's TO STEAL MY MONEY! I called corporate Vasa to try and get reimbursed for PT sessions that I did not receive per their lack of ability to provide the sessions. Was denied but told they would immediately cancel PT for me and payments on the account for the PT. Which was $180 every 2 weeks. I had made several complaints, written emails, made phone calls and so over the next few days was receiving phone calls. The next person I talked to told me that my PT had not been cancelled but they would take care of that right away for me. Next, was chatting through email about the issue and was told the same thing for the 3rd time that my PT had not been cancelled but that they would take care of that right away. To wake up a few days ago with another $180 charge on my account. I call corporate, I email with corporate. To be told that they could not reimburse me right away but that they would have to mail me a check. I called my bank and put a stop payment order against Vasa. I asked if I did that if they would be able to refund me the money they owe me electronically, just like they took out the money. My bank said that the stop order was so they weren't able to take more money out of my account but that they would still be able to refund me the money. I got back and forth with corporate over this issue and they continue to sweat their only option is to mail me a check that I might receive in the next 30 days. At this point I AM FUCKING OVER VASA AND THEIR CROOKED WAYS. I call the police station to see if this is something I can file a report for. Turns out what they did to me is exactly like when someone gets caught stealing and offers to pay for what they stole. GUESS WHAT? IT IS STILL FUCKING STEALING!!! THEY DID NOT HAVE PERMISSION TO TAKE OUT MORE MONEY FROM MY ACCOUNT, IN FACT I HAVE EMAIL DOCUMENTATION OF WHEN THE CANCELLATION WAS APPROVED SO I WAS ABSOLUTELY ALLOWED TO FILE A REPORT. She makes the whole gym reek of bad vibes and makes me not want to stay on my workout grind. I have a very early schedule and that's why I chose this gym. I have to be to work at 6 am, so the 4 am opening made perfect since. Work out for an hour and ten mins, shower and get ready for 20 mins and make the half hour drive to arrive to work on time.... Great in theory. The gym employees (except Liszt, Lizzy is on time) are late the majority of the time, leaving 10-12 cars in the parking lot to just sit and wait. This is Sunday - Saturday. Regardless if they open at 4am, 5am or 6am they are late. Some days that can't access the key box to open the doors either, more waiting. My hour and ten min work outs turn into a rushed 50-55 min work out. Far from my routine. Also, when you are the first one into the gym, you expect it to be clean. There is toilet paper all over the bathroom, Piss in the toilets and the sinks are dirty. Which makes me think, do they ever clean this place? I can't even imagine what's growing on the floors if they can't even clean the visible areas that are common sense. Weights are never properly racked and I know some of this is on the gym goers. However, if this place were properly staffed like Lifetime or 24, someone would walk around and help with this matter. It only starts with one person to make a change. Shoot, the night staff who closes could arrange them in less then 15 minutes if they wanted too. Coming into a well organized gym allows it to stay organized. Inconsistent Amenities & Poor Facilities Management at Church Ranch VASA The amenities at the Church Ranch location have been extremely inconsistent. The sauna and steam room, which are advertised as being available "until close," are frequently shut off hours before the gym closes. The Sauna On weekdays, the gym closes at midnight, yet the sauna is consistently turned off around 8 or 9 PM. This means that by 9:30, the temperature has already dropped below 140°F, and by 11 PM, it's barely above 100°F--far from the expected 180-190°F. This is NOT an issue at other VASA locations, which tells us it's a facilities management problem specific to Church Ranch, not a corporate policy. If this is a cost-saving measure, it should be clearly stated on the website and in contracts. Right now, members are paying for a service that isn't being delivered. Many people work late on weekdays and don't arrive until 10 PM, only to find the sauna already cold. People chose VASA because the hours work with their schedule, come to find out this location is not disclosing its true amenities hours. Neglect & Poor Repairs A few months ago, the sauna was shut down for nearly a month for "repairs". We were told they were fixing the door handle that had fallen off (likely because eveyone has to pull the door shut because it doesn't shut correctly). So in a month they installed a tiny metal bathroom stall handle that broke within two days. The original thick wooden handle was still on the floor inside the sauna, but it took weeks AFTER they reopened the sauna for them to actually put the proper handle back on. If they were able to fix the handle overnight why was the sauna closed for weeks. The only noticeable change was a single plank of wood being replaced. The rest of the rotting, blackened wood was glued together and left as is, instead of fixing the actual issues. The sauna is now closed again for "repairs to the wood" which could've been avoided had they done that when they had it closed for a month. Proactive, preventative maintenance measures like routine amenities checks should be in place, so they don't let things don't get bad enough and a board snaps in half while someone's standing on it (which happened). If VASA is concerned about energy costs, the real issue is the broken door and seal, which leaks heat and forces the sauna to work harder to stay hot. Fixing this would save more energy than shutting the sauna off early. The Steam Room The steam room is completely unreliable. Some nights it's fully functional, other nights it's bone dry. Staff are just as confused as members. There have been times when I've driven 30 minutes to my gym specifically for the sauna, found it closed for repairs or off, and thought, "At least I can use the steam room"--only to find it off as well. No note, nothing they're fixing, just off at like 7pm. Whereas the previous week they were on at 7pm. Front desk staff have even told me "It should be on, it was working earlier today, I think it's on a timer". Lack of Accountability The front desk staff aren't at fault, as they don't have the authority to turn the amenities back on or make repairs. However, they also have no real answers, which shows a lack of communication between management and employees. If they can't control the amenities, then facilities management needs to be more responsive or on-site more often. Or consider the possibility of training staff on-site to be able to turn the amities back on, when they're randomly off at 7pm. If the sauna is supposed to stay on until close, then it should. If there's a policy change, members should be notified. And if the steam room is truly "on a timer," then why is it so inconsistent? This is not an issue at other VASA locations, which proves it's a management problem unique to Church Ranch. Until something changes, I can't justify more than a 1-star review. Members deserve transparency, consistency, and functioning amenities--not broken doors, glued-on wood, and excuses. read more

Since October, I have been struggling to stay sane having to deal with my awful nextdoor neighbors. Because of all the unnecessary drama they have brought into my life, I seek the opportunity to liberate all of my frustrations with them through the gym. VASA 72nd and Federal - the locker rooms are the dirtiest I have ever witnessed. There have been a dozen lockers broken for at least a year- it would take less than an hour to fix them all. Two of the 5 showers have broken shut offs, and one is backed up. The equipment is ok, the gym area is mostly clean. read more

Clean, nice staff, and basketball courts are actually well kept and swept for exceptional grip with new or used basketball shoes.

Update: I went in today and they now have upgraded ascent massage chairs with the compression on the arms, instead of the water massagers. A nice upgrade. I heard the federal location is also upgrading. I will say it is not as good as the massage chairs that they have at another nearby location with foot compression and more presets. Maybe this is the lesser tier version. But still an upgrade. Make sure that after you start the massage and it adjusts to your shoulder height to go into adjustments and mark the massage as strong. The default seems to be soft which doesn't do much. read more

I've been a member for several years at the Vasa on Church Ranch Westminster Colorado. It's gotten a new manager named Steve S who has along with the staff have truly improved the place. The machines are repaired promptly, the cleanness is greatly improved, rarely are there problems with lack of soap paper towels etc., and best of all the climate control in the pool and locker rooms is finally warm enough. Was excited to join this gym on a group membership with my household. The billing has been a nightmare and the company handling it has been extremely unhelpful. The package we were sold was supposed to be around $150, but there have been deducting almost $300 a month. They separated our accounts and then didn't pull payments from the payment method provided - then added late fees to each individual account and cannot explain to me why the monthly cost is $270...when I called to straighten it out I couldn't get help, they helped me close the account then proceeded to add $25 cancellation fees to everyone's accounts. It's been a mess - going back to Chuze even though it's a longer drive. They have straightforward billing that isn't crazy high. read more

My boyfriend had a membership in which he froze his payments due to COVID. Once VASA opened up again, they began to charge their users after 90 days of freezing their accounts. He has not gone to the damn gym in five months and now he owes $200 and his account has been sent to collections. RIDICULOUS. No one has even tried to contact him regarding his payments not going through. Every person he has tried to talk to over the phone is useless and ends up transferring him 100 times. I like it. I've been a member at several different clubs my entire life from LA fitness, simply fit ( now out of business) planet fitness etc. and then some. this club offers the best deal for amenities based on what you get. same price as black card for the 2nd tier membership va PF. a few things. it's not perfect. men's room only has 3 stalls and 2-3 urinals. they are always taken so there is one only one more unisex bathroom and that is around the corner and it's always taken. not everyone wipes their machines down. there's also a lot of hogging of equipment, ego lifting and f boys standing around. you get the legacy ridge HS kids coming here and a lot are bougie and pretentious. girls are rude to other girls here too. I'll say the locker rooms though and club itself are always clean. very few if any broken machines. front desk office staff are kind and courteous. lots of classes and options and child care as well. try to beat the afternoon rush. hours are great they open at 4 am almost daily. and stay open late. make sure you lock your stuff up. recovery rooms available read more

BUYER BEWARE - THEY TAKE ADVANTAGE OF MILITARY VETERANS!!! I'm a 100% disabled Marine Corps veteran who was lured into joining Vasa Fitness because of their special veteran discount that also put me on a no-contract agreement (i.e. Month-to-month, cancel any time, etc.). I went to the Vasa in Littleton, CO for a few months and really liked it but, after I moved, I started going to the location in Westminster, CO. I was SHOCKED at how filthy and disorganized the place always was - weights all over the ground, bars missing and in random places all over the gym, and weight plates stacked completely at random on every tree (I would have to take off EVERY weight to get to the 45lb plate I needed because there were 5s, 10s, 25s, and 35s all on the exact same "limb"!) and the employees always just hung out chatting behind the front desk instead of going around and organizing things. I talked to their manager about it (a blonde woman, I don't recall her name) two separate times and she just gave me some excuse about being busy - this was obviously not true because the Vasa in Littleton was always much busier and NEVER looked this bad (and, as I said, it was obvious that her employees were just hanging out doing nothing, unlike the employees in Littleton). The third time I had to talk to her, I admit that I lost my temper (stressful situations trigger my PTSD - unfortunate but true) and I stormed out of the gym, vowing to never go back to that branch. The manager responded by BARRING me and my wife (who is under my account) from every Vasa Fitness. I was unable to enter ANY Vasa Fitness but I was not notified about it or given any means to address the situation. In response to this, I told the manager at the Thornton location that I wanted an immediate cancellation and refund for both my and my wife's memberships. The manager REFUSED to end my membership and told me that I had to call a special corporate number because "We can't end military memberships in the club." I called the number he provided and requested a cancellation/refund and the customer service rep REFUSED to do so, too - she gave me another number to call because "She can't cancel discounted military memberships." I called THAT number and the same thing happened! Another refusal and another number to call - The final number just went to a dead-end - a pre-recorded message that told me to call the FIRST NUMBER again - I wasn't even able to leave a voicemail. I was completely unable to end my membership even though I was SUPPOSEDLY on a "month-to-month" agreement! On Sept 5, 2019, I disputed the credit card charges through my bank because the company had refused to render services but continued charging my card anyway. The dispute was investigated and found in MY FAVOR on Oct 6, 2019 and $16.99 was returned to my card. At that time, my bank advised me to cancel the credit card to protect myself from future fraudulent charges from Vasa. Even after I told them I wanted to cancel my and my wife's accounts, won the dispute and canceled my card, Vasa CONTINUED TRYING TO CHARGE THE CANCELED CARD FOR BOTH ACCOUNTS EVERY MONTH. Last week, my wife received an email (they never emailed ME - the primary account holder) from Vasa Corporate that claims we owe them over $200 (they won't tell me the exact amount) in membership fees and penalty fees EVEN THOUGH WE ALREADY TOLD THEM WE WANTED TO CANCEL SEVERAL TIMES. They are now threatening to turn my "debt" over to collections for further derogatory action and a hit on my credit report. I reported this company to the Better Business Bureau and am currently awaiting action. This company is a SCAM that goes after the people who have worked hardest to support and defend this country. DO NOT BUY INTO THEIR LIES!!! I have never had so much trouble with a gym in my entire life and their "month-to-month" agreement means nothing - you are completely unable to cancel if you ever have problems with this gym. Location has staff that is careless towards guest. Customer service is crap. Things are always broken. Not a day goes by that either a toilet is broken or a sink usually both. Today all urinals are out of service and a sink. Clearly not spending the time to actually fix problems. Bathrooms are disgusting. When your staff spends most their time sitting around you'd think these things were getting done. Usually a broken machine or ripped seats. This location is always packed. Good members that are nice. I tried many gyms in the metro area over the years and they never felt like the right fit. I hated the pushy sales, dirty gyms, and the feeling I was just a number to them. Vasa is like a gym home. It's a place that makes me feel celebrated. I look forward to going because of the people and atmosphere. The group fitness classes are extraordinary and I don't say that lightly. The staff is welcoming, helpful, and has a sense of humor. I also enjoy the trainers a lot. I also love the heart rate monitor screens. The icing on the cake is the free hydro massage chairs. I will do any workout to be rewarded with that. Thank goodness I found Vasa. I'm a better healthier person because of that place and the people in it. read more

Church Ranch VASA in Westminster is a nice facility. Management and running the place is questionable. The spin room for months now has been running 75 to 76 degrees. People in charge will tell you it's being fixed and is a top priority. This is not the case. The floor is also lifting in the spin room. The decision was to replace the entire floor at the facility EXCEPT the spin room. After bringing it to the attention of Management and was promised someone would address it and get back with me. Crickets......not one person has responded. It's sad because it's close to home. read more

Phew, the Hatorade is so real in these reviews. Truthfully, I don't understand why. This gym has pretty much everything you'd need from a swimming pool, jacuzzi, sauna, hydro massage beds, group classes (yoga, barre, spinning, etc.), free weights, and so much more! The gym offers so many features yet is very affordable. The staff and gym-goers are friendly, the facilities are clean, and it's spacious. I got a free week trial during their March Madness Class Pass. I had access to all of the features including TEAM classes, group classes, etc. After my week trial, I signed up - they had me hooked! My membership is $20/mo, I got the free week trial, my first month free, $0 sign-up fee, and no contract. The only other additional charge is that annual fee (I think it's $50), which comes out of your account 60 days after signing up. I have access to everything except the TEAM training. Talk about a great deal! Gabby, one of the membership services staff, is extremely knowledgeable and was helpful every step of the way. She's also professional, friendly, and follows up consistently to ensure you feel welcomed into the VASA fitness community. I referred my sister to speak to her after such a positive experience. The only reason I knocked my rating down from a 5 star review is because of a conversation I had with another staff member, Ariel. He gave me bad information about the March Madness Class Pass when I called. Thankfully Gabby called me back to answer my questions with the correct information and I started my free week trial that same day. I've been a member with Vasa for about a year now. The reason for this 1 star review is because imagine going to a gym and paying for all the services you pay for and getting harassed every time you go in. The first incident I had with them is my mask falling down beneath my nose. Long story short, they got on me about it and threatened to suspend my membership if it happened again. The second incident was them coming up to me while I was recording myself for a fitness assessment. Their approach was that they have talked to me multiple times and I cannot train people (I'm a certified personal trainer). Long story short, it was a back and forth argument about me training people when there was literally nobody on the video even though they assumed I was on a zoom chat. I'm like, nobody is on here. I'm recording myself and no, you have not talked to me multiple times. You've talked to me once and the first incident was about a mask. Now all of a sudden it's about me training people? They proceeded to say they have been watching me on the camera and what I'm assuming is that they were upset that a day or so before I was on the computer working out to another trainer leading a virtual class. This same day, after my workout was finished, the manager chased after me after I was already out the door with a paper highlighting that I can't be recording video (even though people do it all the time on their social media's). Today, minding my own business. I'm just foam rolling, the district manager comes up to me. You know they're constantly watching me on camera which is kinda creepy. Do you wanna be watched for everything you do whilst working out? Anyway, she comes up to me to say they have given me multiple chances and she's revoking my membership for 60 days. I then tell her all that's happened and that I am not training people cuz now their story is switched to me "training people" when I use my guest privileges. I'm not training my wife in the gym. We are working out together. So let's get this straight. I pay for guest privileges to bring guests right? Well, according to them or this rule only applies to me or a select few, you can't work out with people if you give them any spot, cue, or whatever. People go into gyms all the time and someone usually leads the workout, but if we're all working out together then what's the big deal? You probably didn't read all this, but I'm really frustrated with this company and when she told me she could eternally revoke my membership I said be my guest. I'm a trainer, I don't need your gym. I just go there for the convenience and equipment. Don't waste your money here. I feel bad for all the people I referred here. Best gym I have ever been a member of! They treat you great and I love the team training and personal training and the price is really reasonable. The option to do cardio in a movie theater is so unique and I end up in there quite often when there is no class I want to join. The KidCare is amazing!
