My family, before transferring the pup to us, had brought their dog in to try NWVH as the pup has severe allergies and they wanted a second opinion. Atopica, which is a very common allergy medication was what the dog had been using.... The Vet, knowing the dog needs this every day, issued a "repeat" prescription knowing the dog had been taking this, it had been working. Then, both the original owner of the dog and myself called to inform NWVH that I would be taking over the ownership of the dog, we first asked to have all ownership transferred into my name and address.... Which was completed.....I then asked to have the prescription in my name sent to my pet pharmacy so I could arrange for pick up as the dog needed it right away..... the prescription was sent in the original owners name which created a whole bunch of confusion... When I called back and asked for them to send the prescription again, even though they had agreed to send it originally.... Now told me that they would need to see the dog again because it has changed ownership. So, even though the dog was the same dog, the service was paid for and the prescription was issued (just under the wrong owners name so we were unable to pick it up and they were out of the country) and the dog was transferred into another immediate family members name, instead of simply changing the name and resending it, they 100% had to see the dog again, which meant another vet visit with costs involved... makes no sense at all.... It was at this point that I decided enough was enough and asked that all papers please be transferred to another clinic. It was then that we realized as soon as this clinic could potentially be losing as client.... They no longer cared about the dogs best interest... but the fact they weren't going to be making any money on this pup any further... It took 3 calls and the threat to leave a review for them to decide they would give me a "one time" prescription for the dog and that was all they would do.... And said "we are only issuing you a 1 time prescription because you will no longer be a client".... Even though my family had paid full price to obtain the prescription the dog needs in a daily basis. Not only was this just a true lack of professionalism, but demonstrated that this isn't about the customers needs, it's truly about their own.... This combined with the attitude on the phone from their representatives when all I was looking for was answers and a solution... was horrible.... With the amount of money we invest into our animals, this certainly made me feel like I had to do it their way (by keeping the animal with them) or they had no interest at all.... There are many excellent Clinics out there and if distance isn't a factor... go to Caledon Mountain Veterinary Hospital... been using them for years and they will do anything to go out of their way for the customer... North Woodbridge Animal Hospital was an experience I'll never have again... I'll also be filing a complaint with The College Of Veterinarians Of Ontario.

Post for awareness…read more If you care about the well being of pets, do not take them to this "animal hospital". Our dog Milo who has been in good health for the last 7 years is now deceased. After a common / simple procedure, Dr.Shankar Kothawar wrongfully prescribed Milo medications causing, heavy breathing and bloody stools. After trying to figure out what is going on with Milo and 3+ visits to this "animal hospital" we had enough of Dr.Shankar Kothawar and decided to take Milo to Dr. Dean animal hospital. Milo immediately went on oxygen followed by a blood test and x-ray; the wrongfully prescribed medications caused a hole in his stomach followed by internal bleeding. Dr. Dean animal hospital tried multiple times to get clinical notes, but Dr.Shankar Kothawar would not cooperate knowing Milo was in critical condition. After being persistent we were finally assured by the receptionist that they would send the clinical notes with in the next 10 minutes. To our surprise we did not receive the clinical notes in 10 minutes... We received them about 2 days after Milo passed away. This vet killed me and my girlfriends dog…read more The dog had epilepsy, but was on medication for it and was very stable. Monitoring her diet and exercise while taking the meds was a successful combination. Seizures were a rare occurrence, and if they did happen they were short and not repetitive. They also only happened at night when everyone was sleeping. My girlfriend moved houses and wanted to have a vet close to her new place. We found this vet, and decided to get the same exact medication for our dog. When picking up the medication for the first time from this vet, the pills were visibly different. After asking about it, we were assured that it was only a different casing, but the medicine was the same. Literally the first day of giving our dog the meds from the new vet, she had a seizure during her walk in the afternoon. A couple of hours upon returning to the house, she had another seizure. Already two very strange occurrences for our dog. Later that night, she had yet another seizure. After this one, we decided to give her an emergency medication that was given to us by the old vet. There has never been a seizure after taking the medication in the past. But this night was different. Through the night, our dog continually had seizures. We decided to immediately take her to the vet first thing in the morning. The place was supposed to open at 9:00am as it says everywhere. We showed up, but the doors were closed. We called, and were told we needed to wait until 10:30am. That was even with the critical situation already explained. They still arrived after 10:30, and by that point our dog had passed away in the car. This vet not only refused any blame or criticism for the issue being immediately after taking the pills from him or for being over 1.5 hours late. They also had the audacity to immediately start bringing up what funeral services we should buy. The bottle of pills that were only missing two from one day of taking them was refused for a refund. That is despite the old vet previously allowing a refund. All in all, this place is unprofessional, disrespectful, ignorant, and cost the life of me and my girlfriend's dog. I don't want you to make the same mistake we did. Please take care of your pets, they are family. Don't trust this vet, they do not have the health and safety of your pet in mind. All they care about is the money you give them.

Having to say goodbye to my beloved Ozzy after 14 wonderful years together was heartbreaking, but the veterinarian and every member of the staff were so kind, compassionate, and understanding. They treated my sweet boy with the dignity, respect, and love he deserved, making an incredibly painful experience just a little easier to bear. I will always be grateful for the care they showed Ozzy and for the kindness they extended to our family. When the time comes to say goodbye to a cherished pet, I cannot recommend them highly enough. They truly helped us through one of the hardest moments of our lives.

I talked to my husband and last week, we called them again, they updated the price to $29/vaccine + deworming drug. The price increased rapidly. The first time visiting with free checkup up to 2 kittens. But 2nd time visit will require the checkup fee for 10% off. We had 5 o'clock appointment, and there was no client there when we walked in. We filled out the form for our kittens. We were asked to wait at Room 2. The staff came in for weighted our kittens and asked normal questions about our kittens, which were sorta details. Then the doctor showed up. He was pretty nice and patient to check our kittens, after that, he vaccinated them. However, he didn't find out our little girl has hernia before. We mentioned that he said it is pretty small now, not too obvious. And the boy also has a little bit, which both are not a problem now, we can watch first. He also explained nicely about the external deworming and internal deworming drugs, which he would recommend to take the external one would be more valuable when we concerned about the price. They also did the nails cut for free. I would recommend this new vet clinic, if anyone lives around the area.

Dr. Jessica and her team take the time to explain to me what is going on and the different options we have for my baby. I'm very happy I took my baby, Toby here. I have been enjoying following them on Instagram for a very long time. They treat your fur babies as if they are one of their own and that is so important to me. You can see all the love they have to give through their pictures and videos. Toby has been doing much better because of their guidance and support and the whole team there is so amazing! My dog had a pink eye with some discharge and I went to the the vet to be able to get the medicine, but than the vet started to offer other things: - Two exames for the eyes, one costing 300 and the other one, 60 for each eye. - Tablets for ticks. I said no, I have it already. - Diet plan. I wanted only the drops for his eyes, that was it! When I went to pay for the consultation and get the medicine, they had included also an "oil" for his eyes and some wet pads for pets - these two things are more expensive than the simple eye drops my dog needed. I just paid 250+ dollars to get out of there, and I just wanted a 14 dollars eye drops. Well, I felt very disappointed and I already miss Doc Dean, she never offered me any unnecessary service or treatment. I hope she is enjoying her retirement. I am considering looking for a new vet for my dog as it looks like the vet is so eager to make lots of money on added and unnecessary services and products not required or requested.

The female doctor on duty admitted they had the capability to perform the emergency surgery, but refused to do so because she "just graduated, and an emergency clinic could do the same surgery". Despite refusing treatment, we were still charged $90 just to be told to go somewhere else. There was absolutely NO urgency or compassion shown. The front desk staff was completely unhelpful--she handed us a phone number for an emergency clinic without an address or any further guidance, simply saying, "call there." After INSISTING on a list of 24-hour emergency clinics, we were given locations that were NOT 24-hour facilities. We visited four of them between 5-6 PM, and ALL were closed. Because of this complete LACK OF CARE, misinformation, and incompetence, our beloved family pet did NOT make it. Time wasted finding an open emergency clinic cost our cat their life. Please, do not trust this place with your pet's life. We will NEVER be returning.
