I reached out to Vasquez Upholstery to reupholster my leather bed headboard. At first, I thought about replacing my whole bedroom set, but realized reupholstering might be a better option. After contacting a few local family-run businesses, I chose Vasquez because they were friendly, responsive, had fair prices, and offered pickup and delivery. Daisy came to my home with samples and helped me pick the right material. She got quotes for the leather and gave me a clear price for the labor. They came out, uninstalled the headboard, and took it with them. They also gave me a timeline for when it would be ready, and they stuck to it. When they delivered it back, they reinstalled it for me too. The headboard looks beautiful -- the leather smells amazing and the work is really well done. They even offered to make me some extra cushions from the leftover material, which was such a thoughtful touch. Excellent Highly Recommend! Note: This is the review for Juniper Street location in Santa Ana. We have a Relax the Back recliner that is about 40 years old and in use everyday. The leather was well worn with a few torn spots. The padding was completely compressed and disintegrating. We thought it was beyond hope and considering disposing it. We contacted Vazquez Upholstery on Juniper Street and spoke with Daysi and Ramon. They came out to see the recliner and give their opinion. We liked their recommendation, and the estimate was more than reasonable so we agreed. The finished recliner was returned on Saturday. We were shocked as the recliner looked brand new! New high quality leather, new cushioning, new neck pillow! Everything they said could be done was spectacularly done! Like brand new! Probably has at least another 40 years of use and might out live us. We are so happy that we excitedly had them take our 2 mid-century (1900's) small armchairs. Daysi, she also designs, assisted in our selecting the new fabric. So off the chairs went for Ramon and Daysi to work their magic again ! We are excitedly awaiting their return. We were absolutely caught off guard by the price after Daisy delivered our cushions that needed to be upholstered! We had to pay twice as much as what we were quoted when she was here to see our couch that needed upholstered! No written estimate as to how much it would cost, we only got a verbal estimate, and trusted her with her words! When she delivered the cushions , she told us about the cost and both my husband and I were totally shocked as to how much more we had to pay versus her verbal quotes! The cushions look ok, but the way they conduct their business by not disclosing the exact costs is to be concerned with! We will never trust Vazquez Upholstery and will no longer do business with them in the future! Their conduct was not ethical no matter how well their upholstery work is! read more

If I could give a zero star review, this would be one! Unfortunately, I had high hopes to have Vazquez Upholstery re-upholster my bar stools and two large dining room chairs but it turned into a terrible experience. Daysi was initially pleasant to work with. She provided me with a labor estimate by phone along with a three-week lead time. Daysi then came by our office to show my husband, and I sample of materials they offered. Once fabric was chosen, Daysi said she would price out the material and get back to me with a quote. Once I approved the total quote (including material cost), then they would move forward with the upholstery. My husband loaded the two dining chairs and bar stool cushions into her vehicle 10/7/24. 10/17/24... I still have not received a quote from Daysi, so I sent her a follow up to check in. She said that she would have a quote to me by 10/18/24 and they would be starting on our next week. (10/21/24) 10/18/24 We received an official estimate from Daysi. We were happy with the bar stool upholstery fabric and labor cost but decided to pass on the two dining chairs because the cost was too high for our project. We could replace the chairs for less than the cost of re-upholstery. We thanked Daysi for the quote and let her know to move forward with the (4) bar stools, but we decided to pass on the two dining chairs. 10/21/24 I emailed and texted Daysi to confirm that she received my decision on moving forward with the bar stools and passing on the dining chairs. I ended up calling Daysi to confirm because I didn't get an answer via email or text. 10/28/24 I followed up with Daysi to see what the progress was on our bar stools and to see when they would be completed so we could pick everything up. Daysi let me know that they would be completed on Thursday 10/31/24 at 11am, and I could pick them up from their shop. At this time Daysi let me know that they removed the fabric from the dining chairs we decided to NOT have re-upholstered and that the fabric was cut in some areas. I confirmed that we did not approve her quote, and we were NOT going to move forward with re-upholstering those chairs. The chairs should have never been uncovered and they need to be returned in the same condition she received them. Daysi then let me know that she would need to speak with her dad about it because she is going to charge me for labor to uncover the chairs. I let her know that I didn't feel that was acceptable, because I requested her NOT to move forward with the dining chairs and I didn't approve her quote. 10/31/24 We reached out to Daysi again to confirm our order would be ready for pickup at 11am. She asked me to pickup at 4:30pm instead, so they could have everything ready. I let her know that we would pickup the following day 11/1/24 to avoid the Halloween traffic and they would have additional time. 11/1/24 Daysi re-scheduled pickup 15 min before we were supposed to arrive and said she would deliver the product later in the day because no one was at the shop for our pickup and she realized that the Velcro was sewn on incorrectly on one cushion. 4:55pm I reached out to Daysi because she never got back to me about a delivery time. She let me know that she wouldn't be able to deliver until 6:30-7pm. I let her know I would confirm that worked for us and get back to her. I got back to her within the hour, but she had already left the office. She then sent me a lengthy text about how quality work takes time, that their lead time is 2-2.5 weeks, and that they have many jobs lined up, so she hopes this give me a better understanding. I responded letting her know that I understood that quality work takes time and if she could just confirm if my order is ready for pickup or if they are still working on it? 11/2/24 Confirmed our order was completed and Daysi delivered them to our office. After re-assembling our bar stools, we noticed that two of the cushions looked good and the other two were rippled and the fabric did not look good. The straps that secure with Velcro around the frame were inconsistent lengths and sewn in different locations on each cushion. We reached back out to Daysi and sent photos to share our concerns. She asked us to deliver the cushions to the shop with a bar stool frame for fitting and corrections. My mother-in-law offered to drop off the materials to have everything re-worked. 11/12/24 11AM I mistakenly sent her to the address listed on our invoice from Vazquez Upholstery, but it was their home address. My mother-in-law delivered our order to their shop address and told Daysi she should be careful having her home address on her invoices. 2:47PM Daysi said our cushions had been fixed and were ready for pickup. I let her know that we could pickup tomorrow 11/13/24, but she said she would prefer to get them to us asap so she would drop them off. 3:45PM Daysi delivered the UNFIXED items and said we can steam the chairs if I want the rippling to go away. read more

Thrilled with the craftsmanship of Sev and his team! After having our kid, the proud new grandparents gifted us a child-sized chair that "grand dude" had built for his son. After years of hard wear, the upholstery was in really bad shape. Our barely toddling kid managed to strip the fabric off the back and started eating the stuffing within the first few days with her gift. So we took it into Vazquez, deliberated over what seemed like more than 100 different leather finish swatches, and a little over 2 weeks later walked out with a gorgeously upgraded kid chair with a much more durable covering ready to go for another generation of use. This is a small workshop, so it may not be 100% open during its posted hours depending on breaks-- build in a little extra time to navigate pick up logistics if you don 't opt for delivery. My first project with Vazquez family was in 2019 when they re-upholstered my new dining room chairs with upgraded fabric. The chairs were done perfectly with great attention to details and in a timely manner. Their work simply blew me away and since then, they are the only ones I have asked to work on my furniture needs and will continue to do so. Other work they have done for me: Reinforced legs and padding of three other chairs, replaced the slings of my Tropitone patio chairs to make them even better than the original ones, and lastly they rebuilt the frame of my 25 year old leather CA King bed and changed the padding that perfectly matches the original one.
