    My cat

My cat was giving symptoms of a sickness so I took him here at around 2am. The front desk woman was so kind I wish I got her name. They immediately took my baby back to get vitals and the doctor was a very sweet girl as well! I asked for fluids, an anti- inflammatory injection, and some antibiotics. I decided not to do any testing because they are about 200-300$ The exam fee is 180$ and I ended up having to spend about 350$ for the entire visit. Very worth it and reasonable to me because now my baby is home and feeling better! Thank you!

Our 16 year old puppy left us in the middle of a 3 day weekend and VCA was recommended to us. When we brought her there, the woman who dealt with us showed so much care and compassion, we knew we were at the right place. A few days later, we received a very nice sympathy card that had her paw print on it. When we picked up her ashes, she was in a wooden urn with her name engraved on it that was in a blue velvet bag. VCA made a difficult time a little easier for us and it is much appreciated.

Dr Pepping is incredible. She truly answered her calling to be a veterinarian. Her compassion and kindness is like nothing I've ever seen before. Add in an awesome office staff and you have the perfect clinic! Thank you so much for saving Lucy!

Thank so much for giving Big Frank a chance after his fight with a Coyote... Lame Thanksgiving but I was thankful to have had the chance to save him. They answered the phone right away, got him in as soon as I got there, they gave him ped med, xrays, IV, so we knew the truth that there was no saving him. We were able to be there as we put him to sleep. They were so great. Best wishes. Ignore the crazy karen reviews on here... with no life threatening emergencies you should wait.

Unfortunately just days after writing my previous review I was back here again. Thankfully the staff were just as awesome. I noticed my Tigger's behavior change and booked him an appointment with my regular vet but in the next 20hrs waiting for the appointment he seemed to get worse. Instead of being his Cheeky little self following me around the house he became quiet and wasn't as active. Then I tried to feed him and instead of eating started vomiting profusely. Immediately we were on the phone to tell VCA we're on our way. They Immediately took him in to do tests which showed Diabetic ketoacidosis and we had to leave him for a couple of days for testing and monitoring while they get his Glucose levels back to a reasonablelevel.. I cannot praise the staff here enough for calling us every 12hrs on shift change to let us know how he was doing and assuring us that he had improved. They even set us up with an examination room on the second evening just so that we could spend some time with him and seeing the huge change in his behavior from the day before put my mind at ease. Furever thankful to the team here... see what I did there?

My dog ate a wasp that had been sprayed with bug spray and was immediately taken in for help. The vet was so calm and assured us our fur baby would be okay. He's less than 4 pounds and they treated him so well and helped him make a full recovery. The pricing was reasonable on such an emergency where they took him in upon arrival and walked us through every step of the way. Thank you VCA for saving our baby!

He's an indoor and outdoor cat however since raccoons have been around my area, I've started bringing my cat indoors at night. He managed to get out and ended up being in a fight with a stray cat. Once he was inside, my family and I noticed feces on him so my son washed him. Perhaps a drop of water got into his nasal cavity and he started having trouble breathing while gagging and retching. We thought he had something obstructing his throat. When we arrived to VCA, there were NO customers in the lobby which was a relief. The receptionist moved quickly, took our cat to the back and we were brought to a exam room to wait. Soon, we were told another pet was being seen before ours because the other pet needed care immediately. That's odd as a cat in breathing distress seems to be very urgent but apparently not at VCA hospital. The receptionist kept us abreast of what was happening until she came to tell us that she was closing our exam door because an aggressive dog was coming to the hospital. I appreciated that attention but once the door was closed, it seemed like we were forgotten. After a hour and twenty five minutes, I left the exam room to inquire from the receptionist desk at which point Dr. Haley Collins FINALLY came to our exam room. Her tone was crude and unfriendly. She was curt, unapologetic and relatively rude. She wasn't forthright with information to the point that I needed to ask questions about the costs. I asked her if she could detect if there was something in my cats throat to which she replied that my cat hissed at her. Hmm, that's what cats do. After she left my exam room, I overheard her exchange with the next customers (Caucasians) in the next room and she was very different with them as her attitude was pleasant, bubbly and energetic. She was gracious and friendly unlike what she presented us. I decided not to get the care from VCA hospital and paid the exam fee which Dr Collins didn't do. I basically paid for Dr Collins to be rude to me. It always preplexes and baffles me when other marginalized people like Asians are prejudice, intolerant, and rude to other marginalized people. I have been to VCA once before and I've never experienced this conduct from a vet. It was extremely disappointing and drastically contrary to what I experienced at SAGE hospital in Concord. Thank goodness for Yelp as people need to know how disrespected customers feel at some businesses with rude and prejudice "professionals". I paid a bit more at SAGE hospital in Concord and it was much farther from my house BUT the care I received was exceptional. VCA hospital took my exam fee $180.10 and did absolutely NOTHING. It just burns my soul knowing that businesses can charge you for no care. I wish I could give -

So I made an appointment first thing Monday morning at 4:30 pm. By 10am she was walking around better not to much limping and by 3 she was putting most of her weight on the leg. I took her in anyway, also because I wanted them to check out her teeth as well due to a very bad smell in her mouth so I wanted the Vet to check out her mouth, gums and teeth. I let the Vet know that I was not as concerned about the leg because she was almost walking normal again with a slight limp, but very concerned about the bad rotten Oder coming from her mouth. The Vet assessed her leg and said she wanted to get x-rays to see if it was broken, sprain or tear. I asked the Vet what the treatment is for each one of these and she said the same, A Splint, so I said than let's just put a splint on her for now and see how she does. And the Vet said we should do the x-rays to to make sure and again I said well if it's the same treatment and she is walking and putting pressure on it now I am comfortable with just putting a splint and Vet said well she is probably walking on it because she is hear. I told her no she has been walking on it all day with improvement as the day went by. Again the Vet explained her reasoning and I said would it be ok to just put the splint for now please. she reiterated what she had said before and I said give me a moment so I can call my husband. I couldn't get a hold of my husband so I felt pressured and just said go ahead and do it. I waiting about 20 min and they had the results. Vet came in to the room and explained there was not break and conclusion being a soft tissue injury and she said she will prescribe muscle relaxer/pain meds and that's it. I asked her about the check up in her mouth and she said, oh let me go check that. She totally forgot to check this especially when I told them this was very concerning to me. She came back and said she needs a good teeth cleaning. I asked that can't be all that is creating this horrible smell in her mouth it has to be an infection or something, gum disease. and then she said yes I think she has a rotten tooth and yes she has sign of gum disease. I had to pull all this out of her with questions and she was ready to release my dog and let me go home after her diagnosis of a soft tissue injury. I walked up to the receptionist to pay and kindly let her know my frustration and disappointment and she was so kind and professional and said I can give you a senior discount how old are you, I have her my age and she gave me a 10% discount. Came out to $499.00. I get home and read the X-Ray report and there is additional findings: Chronic Intervertebral disc disease of the thoracic spine that she never explained. Needless to say, I will not be taking my two toy poodles to them again.

They "only" charged $3400 for the cleanings, and failed to ask us if we are OK for them to remove all teeth from what used to be one of our dog's cute overbite. We also had to pay another $1500 for a follow-up emergency visit because they injured the other dog (and failed to tell us about it). Doctor must have a twisted sense of reality, because they told me the dogs did "fantastic" when I was called after the procedure. Dog 1: Permanent Disfigurement without Consent They extracted all six lower incisors from one of my dogs without a single phone call to discuss the necessity or get my consent. They effectively destroyed his signature look and "overbite" forever. We dropped off our cute dog and picked up a "small beast" with only two visible lower canines, all because they couldn't be bothered to pick up the phone. And I will be requesting the x-rays and get a second opinion in the necessity of the extractions, because the other incident described below shattered my confidence in their competence. Dog 2: Injury and Cover-Up While my other dog was under anesthesia, the staff managed to lacerate both of his ears while trimming his face. Let that sink in: they cut a dog that was chemically immobilized and not moving. Even worse, the doctor called me afterward and emphatically stated both dogs did "fantastic," choosing to deliberately hide the injuries. They didn't mention a word of it during the face-to-face pickup, either. Dog 2: Late night emergency follow-up visit We only discovered the injured ears after getting home. When we called, they downplayed the cuts as "no big deal" and admitted they had used skin glue to fix one cut. They didn't even provide an e-collar. A few hours later, my dog was bleeding profusely--blood was literally pooling on the floor. We had to rush him to an emergency vet where we discovered the cuts were so deep they required actual sutures. Because of this clinic's "minor" mistake, my small dog had to be put under anesthesia twice in less than 12 hours. And we had to foot a $1500 emergency bill, after an incident that traumatized our family.
