If I could give more than 5 stars I would. My dog got into the trash can Thursday but was acting normal. Ate dinner and breakfast the next day. Saturday we woke up to her throwing up but still no concern since she ate breakfast. Saturday night she didn't finish dinner, which is unusual for her and throughout the night she was acting unusual. At 3am I started googling emergency vets and decided on VEG. After a while of watching my dog to make sure I wasn't overreacting, I headed out for VEG. I arrived at 645 am and was quickly checked in. For a Sunday, they were very busy. After I while, the vet came over with a gentleman who takes all her notes. I loved this. I felt like it gave the vet the time to listen to what you told them and for the other person to take accurate notes on what is being told. I was concerned my dog have a bowel obstruction after getting into the trash and the vet said she shared the same concern. After xrays, an ultrasound, and a full blood panel, it was determined she was showing signs over pancreatitis. The vet said she highly recommended hospitalizing her for the next 24 to 48 hours to get her pain managed and get the pancreas to calm down. I was so upset but the vet was extremely professional and patient while I had a mini breakdown. They sent pictures to me while my dog was in the hospital getting taken care of and they reiterate multiple times you can visit your pet anytime you want or call for an update on their health at anytime. They took excellent care of her and provided detailed updates when I called them or they called me. They even followed up with me via text a few days later to check in on her status and address any concerns I might have had after releasing her. The staff were all incredibly friendly, extremely understanding that people love their pets, and quick to provide updates as they receive them. I couldn't recommend this place enough if you have a pet emergency.

These vets and support staff were exceptional! I highly recommend them without qualification! They were pleasant and helpful on the phone at midnight. We arrived about 20 minutes later and our rescued hound (who is heartworm positive ) was seen and triaged immediately. Everyone was helpful, informative, friendly and professionally. They treated our Koda as if he was their dog. They were patient, thorough, they took their time and I was completely impressed with the level of care and attention we received. We had not been treated that way at a previous visit with another of our dogs at Triangle in Holly Springs a few months ago. The vet there was so obviously trying to 'pick up' our lovely 23 yr old daughter. Anyway, we know our dog has a heart murmur and veterinary Emergency was very attentive when they heard it. We were presented with a treatment plan, we selected what we felt were the most emergent issues (heart sounds, temperature and oxygen levels). The cost was $216 which is insanely reasonable for emergency pet care. We were comfortable that Koda was probably experiencing separation anxiety as we have only had him a couple of weeks and our alpha male ( my husband) is on travel. This morning, before I even had the opportunity to phone Koda's regular vet, they called me with all the information about Koda's visit. I highly recommend this establishment. Their staff is caring, professional and thorough. The facility is conveniently located with ample parking, and it is pleasant and well appointed. I give them five stars!!!

Most of the area is open with exam tables, but there are some private rooms too.

It all started at 2:00 a.m. Saturday on July 11th with a conversation with Sebastian. I then arrived at their location at 7:30 a.m. on July 11th. My Rottweiler had decided to swallow a rock and could not pass it through her small intestines and colon. The admissions staff was wonderful and very attentive. Once Thea Belle was triaged Dr. Catherine Coulter assessed her and told me all the steps she was going to take to help alleviate the issue before making surgery the last option. She was able to do what the previous emergency location was not able to do and that was to manipulate The Rock through her intestines and colon and pass it out her body. Words cannot even convey the emotions and feelings that went through my heart and mind when she handed the rock over to me. She and her staff went above and beyond to make sure that Thea Bella received the best care in their hands. If I ever need an emergency hospital again praying that I don't, animal emergency hospital will be the one I make the drive to.

Still, at 2 in the morning, a really awesome doctor talked me through why I shouldn't worry, got to know my guy, and since there was nothing wrong with him, I didn't get charged anything. The fact that I was not nickel-and-dimed for a problem that didn't exist earned this place my trust. Last night, one of the worst things happened. My dog of 15 years went from being her sparkle-eyed, tippy-tappy, singing and dancing self in the span of 24 hours and by midnight, she was puking blood and couldn't get her tongue back in her mouth. I came straight over. There's always this shame with vets. I've had experiences where I can see the looks, the grumbles, the judgements. When you're poor, you let appointments slide, you want to do better for your animals, but you can't always. My husband and I have been battling foreclosure for the last year or so, and we let some things that didn't seem pressing slide. The woman at the front desk didn't shame me when I said I wasn't up to date on Molly's vaccines or bloodwork. She didn't shame me when I talked about her bad teeth. She saw the scared human in me and offered grace. I didn't get her name or the nurse tech's name, but the doctor introduced herself as Angel. Different pronunciation, I'm probably spelling it wrong actually. But it fits. She was exactly what I imagine an angel to be. She was direct. She told me my options. She explained that my dog was essentially a 90 year old in dog years. I couldn't afford the treatment to even try to get my girl back. End stage kidney disease. My husband wasn't with me, so I had to face this decision alone. Angel sat with me, held my hands, offered what comfort she could, asked about how I was feeling. I've been through a euthanasia before with another dog. I was not allowed to hold my other dog. I was panicked and I knew my distress was scaring her, but I couldn't hold it in. I watched as her pupils dilated and her heart stopped and her body went limp. I read once that your sense of hearing is the last thing you lose in death, and for years I have carried the guilt of knowing that as her soul slipped away, the last thing she heard was her mama crying "no, oh my god, please no." But Wake Veterinary Medical Center gave me the chance and the ability to be strong for my baby. I was settled in a quiet room with my baby in my arms. I held her as she went. I held her after she was gone, until her body cooled, whispering how much I loved her. They didn't take away the pain of grief for me, but they eased the trauma of it. Molly's final moments were calm. She was held and safe and warm. That's more than my others got. I know I told the nurse tech that I knew it wasn't her job to manage *my* emotions, but she stayed and listened anyway. She held my baby like it was her baby. That's not common, from what I've seen. Something awful was not compounded on by judgmental stares and rolled eyes. I didn't get the chance to stop and thank them. I was numb by the time I left, just focused on not crashing my car on the way home. But I really, really wanted the people of this place to know how much everything they did meant to me. All three of the women I interacted with, thank you. You gave me something in my worst moments so I was able to be strong for my brave girl. Words aren't enough here. Just, thank you.

Thinking something was wrong we brought him here. The vet recommended we do a $7k MRI, when we suggested other things like pumping the stomach or some other course of action- they said it wasn't advised. After we DEMANDED to get our kitty back, they undid the signing of our papers to euthanize the little kitty and they gave us a little lecture about how the cat had been given an IV of tap water by us and it was bad because my mom had put water in his bag or something (happened before I got there, but what competent office just leaves a cat unattended in a way my mom could do something like that) and apparently that means it might have "parasites"- then gave us an antibiotic. They told us how to administer the antibiotic, and we asked if they'd given him some or could show us, they basically parried our soft request and insinuated we could do it ourselves. They then said it was "against their medical opinion" to take him home and made us wait to get him back for about 15 minutes with us terrified he was seizing or freaking out cold in a white medical room alone. They delivered him back- and he just looked very weak and tired- but he was breathing fine. Since I got there a little after they brought him there, I was surprised that they would suggest "putting our cat to sleep"... instead of just suggesting he get some sleep. We brought him home, gave him kitty milk, and little by little, he showed more signs of alertness. At first he was opening his eyes. Then his breathing regulated. Soon, he was sitting up when we gave him kitty milk. About four hours after we brought him home, he was able to stand on his own. Next, he was walking to his own litterbox. After a little catnap, by 8pm he's walking around, purring, and jumping up onto the couch (as well as doing a little bit of bread kneading). I would probably go with someone a little less quick to assume things are fatal immediately so you don't lose a member of your family because of their "medical opinion". Ps right now he's licking his fur grooming himself as if it was a regular weekend. This happened earlier today.

We had just moved to this area a few days prior, so we called the closest emergency vet we could find. The staff on the phone were able to calmly handle the situation (and calm us down), tell us exactly what to do, and we were waiting for us the second we arrived at the hospital. Once at the hospital, they took our fur baby back, and stabilized her and her vitals. Dr. Shuttleworth came out to tell us she was stable, no more seizures, and presented us with all of our options moving forward. He was calm and reassuring. The staff was ALL friendly, and knowledgeable, and most importantly, not pushy (allowed us time to figure out what the right path was for our family). They were up front about ALL options, pricing, and suggestions. I really appreciated the staff being supportive, and giving us direction. I felt they were concerned, receptive to all of our questions and fears, and really made our situation better (less scary for us). Also to note- I was not available the day after (while our fur baby was at the hospital having procedures done) and I was able to call once off work to get the full report of all the testing, firsthand from the neurologist (Dr. Warren). I appreciated him taking the time to explain tests & labs to both my partner and me (was not annoyed at all that he had to repeat all the information twice during the day) Moving forward, we will have follow- up appointments with Dr. Warren, at the same location. I appreciate that they have several specialists here, if you need one after your initial ER visit. Yes, it is expensive, just as any animal hospital is. I don't think their prices are much different from other emergency vets we've been to (for previous, non-related issues). Loved this ER vet and would recommend to others in the area. We were so scared when our dog,…read moreSparta, had a syncopal episode after a coughing fit in September 2025, and the veterinary staff were incredibly kind and thorough in running tests, talking us through treatment options, and providing medication for us to use until we were able to get in to see our usual vet. Six months later, we ended up at BluePearl at 2:00am because our dog kept coughing and couldn't settle. We were absolutely unprepared to find out how sick he was and to lose him hours later. Dr. Schuber, Sarah, Matt, John, and the rest of the staff at Blue mPearl were and are heroes. They fought for Sparta in ways that we couldn't and cared for him, as well as for us, in an impossible time. Dr. Schuber walked us through every part of the diagnosis, the treatment, and the aftercare, and she balanced honest, transparent communication with immense empathy and compassion. She and the other staff gave us stools to sit with our boy while he underwent treatment, gave us cups of water to encourage us to maintain some semblance of self-care, and kept us informed at every step. When it came time to say goodbye, Dr. Schuber put down a blanket on the floor so we could hold him, and she sat with us the whole time. They gave us privacy to grieve in another room for as long as we needed. We were never rushed, never financially taken advantage of, never deprived of a moment we could've safely spent with our boy; we and Sparta were treated with the utmost care and respect at every turn. Afterwards, we were gently walked through the paperwork and told the clay and ink pawprints and noseprints, as well as the fur clippings, would be ready same-day. They told us we could pick them up any time, so I did that the following day, and they gave us three beautiful ink pawprints and thorough instructions on how to bake the clay imprints. A few hours after I drafted this review, Dr. Schuber called us to give us the preliminary findings from the necroscopy. It's been two and a half days, and we weren't expecting to have any answers this soon. She cared so deeply about finding out what happened and wanted to share everything with us as soon as possible so we could know that there's nothing that we could've done to change the outcome. With that information, we also know without a doubt that she did the best she possibly could with his care, and we will forever be grateful for that. This has been one of the most difficult situations for us to endure, and I know the BluePearl staff feel that too. I know Dr. Schuber and the staff didn't lose him in the same way that we did, but I could see them grieving all the same.
