Now when it came to cost, I know these things can be costly. The Dr assistant did want me to pay between 3,500-4,500 for my fur baby to stay there for two nights to check her levels. When I informed the Dr assistant I did not have that sort of money. The Dr assistant demeanor seemed to have changed, but she followed up with me after and asked how Prada was holding up. The doctor on the other hand was very nice and accommodating. Luckily my fur baby Prada is very much alive. If my fur baby has another medical emergency I would come back here. Especially since this is the only emergency vet open 24/7.

Since they couldn't determine the cause of his illness, they recommended I take him to an urgent care facility. The only reason they referred me was because they did not have the equipment to perform X-rays or an ultrasound. They had already done everything they could at their clinic and wanted my dog to receive the advanced imaging he needed. When I arrived around 12:00 PM, the receptionist told me the wait would be about two hours. I completely understood because it's an urgent care, and I appreciated that they took my dog into the treatment area. I assumed he would at least receive IV fluids to keep him hydrated while we waited, especially because I specifically told the receptionist he wasn't eating, was weak, and needed an IV. I was willing to pay for whatever treatment he needed. As the hours passed, I repeatedly asked for updates. Around 3:00 PM, then again at 5:00 PM, I was told my dog was doing fine and that I would be seen soon. Finally, at about 7:00 PM, we were taken into an exam room. The veterinarian came in and immediately asked what was wrong with my dog. I was surprised because it seemed she hadn't been briefed on why we were there. I had to explain everything from the beginning while feeling overwhelmed after waiting seven hours. When I asked if my dog had been receiving IV fluids during that time, I was shocked to learn that he had not received any IV treatment at all. That was extremely upsetting because I believed he was at least being kept hydrated while waiting. After briefly reviewing the bloodwork from my regular veterinarian, the doctor told me my dog "might have leukemia (CANCER)" before performing any imaging, such as X-rays or an ultrasound. Hearing that was heartbreaking. She then recommended additional testing, including more bloodwork, X-rays, an ultrasound, and other diagnostics, with an estimated cost of around $12,000 just to determine what was wrong. I understand that diagnostics are important and that emergency veterinary medicine is expensive. However, after the lack of communication, the seven-hour wait without IV fluids, and hearing such a serious possibility mentioned before additional testing was done, I no longer felt confident continuing care there. I decided to take my dog home. Over the next two days, I focused on keeping him hydrated, monitored him closely, gently massaged his abdomen, and followed supportive care at home. Thankfully, he eventually passed a large mango pit in his stool. Once it came out, he quickly improved and made a full recovery. He did not have cancer. What scares me the most is thinking about how many pet owners may feel pressured into making heartbreaking decisions because of an initial possible diagnosis or because they simply can't afford the recommended costs. I kept thinking that could have been me. If I had accepted that my dog might have cancer without seeking another opinion or waiting for additional answers, I might have made a decision I would have regretted forever. Thankfully, in my dog's case, that wasn't what was wrong. Looking back, I understand that an X-ray may have helped identify the obstruction, and that is exactly why my regular veterinarian referred me there--they did not have the equipment to perform those tests. However, my experience left me feeling that communication was poor, my concerns were not taken seriously, and my dog waited far too long without the supportive care I believed he would receive. This was my personal experience, and unfortunately, I cannot recommend this facility based on how my dog and I were treated. I truly hope no other family has to go through what we experienced.

I was very concerned about this because the reason I pay $40 for a nail trim is so that they can be done right and no one mentioned to me that anything had happened. I called to ask if they had noticed if something had happened to my dog and was told yes that they'd cut it. It had bled. They stopped the bleeding and it should be OK which NOBODY told me when I checked out. When I told them that they should've said something and I'd like a discount for my service today (which was total over $500 by the way) they told me no. I will not be back to this place because honestly if you can't trust someone to do a nail trim or at least let you know when something went wrong. I would not trust them with bigger things.

We were scared and wanted help as quickly as possible. Instead, we felt like we walked into a business that saw our fear as an opportunity. Before discussing a reasonable treatment plan, we were charged over $1,300 for diagnostics (X-rays, ultrasound, bloodwork, etc.). After all of that, we were told he needed to be hospitalized for 24-48 hours at an estimated cost of $4,800-$6,100. We were devastated. Fortunately, we called a friend who works at Orange County Animal Hospital and immediately transferred our dog there. The difference was unbelievable. Their staff was compassionate, moved much faster, and took a thoughtful, measured approach that balanced what our dog actually needed with the financial reality every pet owner faces. Our dog was successfully treated overnight, and the total bill was about $1,400. We were also told the same diagnostic workup would have cost around $500 there instead of the $1,300 we had already paid. That experience made it impossible not to wonder whether ACCESS's recommendations were driven by what was best for our dog--or by what would generate the biggest bill. As a pet owner, you are at your most vulnerable during an emergency. You'll do almost anything to save your animal. In my opinion, ACCESS takes advantage of that desperation with staggering prices and an aggressive approach to treatment that can leave families feeling like they have no choice but to spend thousands of dollars on the spot. To make matters worse, with the exception of a couple of employees, we found the staff to be cold and unfriendly. The veterinarian we dealt with showed very little empathy during one of the most stressful nights we've ever had with our dog. I understand that emergency veterinary medicine is expensive. I expected to pay a premium. What I did not expect was to feel pressured into a treatment plan costing over $6,000, only to discover another emergency hospital treated the exact same condition successfully for a fraction of the cost. If you love your pet--and of course you do--please know that you have options. Call another emergency hospital. Get a second opinion if your pet is stable enough to do so. It could save you thousands of dollars without compromising your pet's care. I will never return to ACCESS Animal Hospital, and I cannot recommend it to anyone. Based on my experience, I would only go here if there were truly no other emergency veterinary hospitals available.

I was recommended here from a friend who has come here for years with their cats, who got great…read moreinexpensive treatments. I adopted a kitten last month and she was very playful and fell a lot, so I got immediate concern when she started limping just a week after adopting her I waited a day to see if it healed but she got worse. I called here to see if I can come in the day she was showing signs of immense pain. Eboni at the front desk for limb/bone helped me through the process of getting a doctor appointment over the phone for the next morning... But I was so concerned that I came in that night with my kitten to get a visual, too concerned to see if she would last the night as she wasn't eating. Eboni was still there and assisted me and let me know that it would be more costly if I do come in that moment instead of the appointment, as it was then claimed an emergency instead of a doctor checkup. She gave me assurance that my kitten would last til then, and that one symptom was queue to come back in that night. The next morning my cat was more attentive but both her front legs she was limping on stopped working! We got to the appointment at 8AM and there was only a couple patients being assisted (more on this later). The checkup took about 30 minutes but they came to me and gave me my options as well as costs it could potentially be; the deeper xray diagnostic would be more expensive but I went with antibiotics. They doctor+vet techs let me take my time by myself weighing my options and weren't pushy. They even asks multiple times [pro and con] if I had vet insurance, I did not at the time cuz again, I just got the kitten, which felt a little guilty. We got home and took the antibiotics, and lo&behold she got immediately better that night!! I was so relieved. Anyway, 1star off for a couple things: when I got out to check out and pay I had to wait almost another 30 minutes because a lot more people+pets came in that needed assistance. I would say they need more staff or 1-2 more doctors on duty if possible. My experience was at daylight hours so I had a better upfront experience. Second is that the facility although welcoming and super clean(!), was NOT user-friendly in location. It's next to the busy intersection and parking is on the roof so it's very hidden (my friend warned me to park up there. If I didn't know that I wouldn't have known the patient parking was up there instead of the side). Parking is super tight in the middle of the day. My 8am app was empty, but when I got out at 9 it was packed again! Not great for SUVs (which commonly transport large dogs!) Thirdly, and also NOT THEIR FAULT, but their elevator from the roof parking was out of service. I didn't need it per se but speaking of large dogs, I saw a few large dogs come in having gone down the stairs with already present health problems, and were hyperventilating, so that may pile on more health problems. I overheard the front staff bickering about an update on the elevator maintenance and they also complained to each other how inconvenient and possibly dangerous it was to not have the elevator working for multiple days. Again, some things are out of their hands but overall I had a good first impression. May come here again.

When I got there, vet techs were waiting for me. Some of them took her back, and one took my story on what happened, and her symptoms. I had to call Pet Poison Line so they could tell the vets how to treat her-that's fine-and they wanted to do a full workup on her since she is 12. I said that's fine, that's what insurance is for. It was about 11pm when I was sent home to rest while they took care of her. At about two, they called me to tell me that she survived the nightshade poisoning, but they had found a thicker spot in her intestines in the x-ray, and they wanted to do follow-up images in the morning, so I got another estimate for them to keep her til the next day and run another round of x-rays and do an ultrasound. She stayed and I went back to sleep. In the morning, a very kind vet whose name I don't remember called me and went over what is happening and why that spot could be there. She gave me advice on how to proceed after today. She asked what food my cat eats so they could give it to her there too. I was kept in the loop the whole time from when I got there to when I picked her up at 4:30pm. It set me back about $3500. Thank God for pet insurance. But considering all they did and the overnight stay, not terrible. My cat's idiocy may have saved her bacon if we caught something early, but so did True Care's thoroughness.

Calls are rarely returned, communication is almost nonexistent, and getting something as simple as a prescription refill has turned into a nightmare. My dog depends on his medication to eat properly, yet I was told I now need to pay for another doctor's appointment just because the previous veterinarian left over a year ago -- something they never bothered to properly communicate to pet owners. How is that acceptable? To make matters worse, they don't even have appointments available until mid-July. So what exactly are patients supposed to do in the meantime? Wait until their pets are seriously suffering just to be seen and get medication they already rely on? There seems to be a complete lack of urgency, compassion, and accountability. Pet owners trust clinics with the wellbeing of their animals, and this experience has been beyond frustrating and honestly heartbreaking

They were able to prep an oxygen chamber so that by the time we got there, my bird was able to be put in oxygen right away. Like any ER, they will triage your pet and take critical cases first. Unlike a normal ER, you stay with your pet the entire time. This could be uncomfortable for people that are squeamish when seeing blood, or if there's a dying patient that comes in while you're sitting in the lobby, because you are front row to every case that walks in. I do think this concept is good for owners that are curious about the behind the scenes, and for those who want to stay with their pet during their time of need. While not as expensive as some, it is still an emergency hospital so the cost is going to be more than a general practice. As of 2026, the exam fee was $195. Also, bring your phone! All payments are done through links sent via text, so make sure you're prepared. My pet had to be hospitalized and everyone was very kind during her stay. Another great thing about this place is that if your pet needs to be hospitalized, you can stay with them the entire time. The staff even goes around with snacks! Overall, I would highly recommend this particular VEG because the staff was very kind and knowledgeable during my time of need.

As I briefly waited to pick them up a couple pets that needed emergency care came in..The staff was very attentive, and compassionate as they were to me. We were lucky to find this spot. I've had to take my pets to other emergency and the staff were…read morealways horrible. The staff here are friendly and honest (at least from our second visit). We came twice within a span of two months. The first time, they informed us that our 13 year-old dog has heart condition. They told us she isn't in pain and that medication would help. They warned us that she's in the later stages of her heart condition. They were able to give her an IV with medication and oxygen to help her. We asked if it was her time, but they said not yet. The staff during this visit weren't the friendliest. We took her to her primary vet the next day and got medication prescribed. We were told again that she's okay and it's not her time yet, but to watch for the warning signs and to prepare ourselves. Unfortunately, a month after the first visit, she had a really bad episode in which we knew it was her time. We brought her back and luckily the staff during this second visit were more warm and comforting. They confirmed that it would be best to let her go and so we let her cross the rainbow bridge. They were very understanding in providing us all the time we needed with her. They definitely made this process more comforting. One thing I'd say is that we were sad that they mixed up her blanket and so they had hers in the back in the wash. We asked for it back and they gave it to us wet. I was sad her scent was washed away. Overall, they provided a good visit for us. They have an online waitlist system so you can join earlier. They have some complimentary snacks and water. Also a name tag making.
