One hopes they never need to visit an Emergency Vet, but if you have to, I highly recommend VEG or Vetrinary emergency group. The staff were friendly and super empathetic. They fully explained the process for evaluating our Frenchie Lady. One thing that set them above is not separating us. Our Lady doesn't do well away from us and they made sure she was comfortable and safe. Dr. Malik Chennault and staff were thorough compassionate and exactly what we needed today. It's likely a long rode ahead for us, but we are so grateful to receive care and bring lady home a little more comfortable and with a diagnosis. Thank you VEG groups and staff keep providing amazing emergency care! David & David Moose and Lady. Also, considering the work up required I found the pricing reasonable.

The triage ER that was so busy but there were only a handful of animals and at least 20 Dr's with their Starbucks. Waste of time

Waited 4 hours! Clearly you can see it was a huge waste of time. Very unprofessional and unorganized. Especially the young Dr Brooke Migdal. Looked like a dear in headlights trying to be busy.

I'm still a happy dog even when I'm injured!

Our 2-year-old Lab started limping after a rough playdate, and our vet recommended VEG for immediate care. Even though the ER was packed, we were seen within 30 minutes -- a huge relief. Dr. Centola was kind and gentle with our dog. Based on his physical exam of the hip and leg, he suspected a possible CCL tear. He provided pain relief, explained the options clearly, and referred us to an orthopedic surgeon if needed. He took the time to answer all my questions and lay out a treatment plan. If you have a large dog dealing with an injury, I highly recommend seeing Dr. Centola and his team. They truly care and take the time to explain everything.

I wouldn't give this place even 1 star if I didn't have to in order to continue with my review. I am 75 years old, in those 75 years I have had the pleasure of owning MANY dogs. Never have I experienced a day like this one with any of my animals. My mobile groomer that I have used for over 10 years was that my rental condo ( our house. In Pacific Palisades had burned down, so I wasn't near my usual veterinarian) She was trimming the hair around the mouth of my 14 pound Yorkie Shih Tzu mix, and nipped the inside of her mouth. It was a small cut, but as cuts in the mouth will do it was bleeding a lot. I had remembered saying different veterinarians on Wilshire Boulevard near our rental condo so I asked our groomer to drive me up Wilshire Boulevard in Santa Monica California. On the corner, I saw a large red building with the letters VEG EMERGENCY HOSPITAL. By that time, Lily's mouth had stopped bleeding, as we went in the building she got scared. Her heart started beating, and her mouth began to bleed again. The receptionist showed us to the back to a room of the enormous space it occupies. A woman came in, who was not a veterinarian and asked me if I wanted bloodwork. I didn't realize that was something that would be needed for a cut in the mouth was not sure why she was suggesting it, but I assumed it was something that was needed so I said OK we were kept in that room without seeing the doctor we eventually saw for almost 5 hours. I was sick with a cold and could hardly sit up holding Lily. My groomer and I took turns holding her after being kept in that room for all of that time. We were finally taken out to the middle of the room where there was a metal table where a woman put Lily on it. She panicked, her heart beating so hard made her mouth start bleeding again. A doctor came over, began to give her oxygen or something, and then changed his mind. Look to see if it needed stitches and saw it did not. We went up to the desk, I handed her my credit card and we left. Later to see that I had been charged the exorbitant amount of $939.21. She was prescribed three prescriptions. The total over $200 that she never even needed. I called the vet several times asking to speak to the manager, Lauren Linville, but she was always either in a meeting not there or busy. It took me weeks to finally see her, I had to go in there and sit and wait for 45 minutes while she was " in a meeting" once again. I explained the situation to her. I even brought the prescriptions back to return to get a refund ( which I did not get ) and show her Lily never even needed any medication. They should have seen what the injury was kept an eye on her while we were there with her and we should've been out of there in 45 minutes tops and the charge should've been $230 for the Emergency visit. She said she would get back to me in four days, as she was going out of town. I spoke with her this morning. She said she had gone over the bill and was not going to deduct any charges. I'm planning on reporting this business to the Better Business Bureau. I would avoid this place like the plague. Lilly was so terrified from the experience that she hid under the bed for three days only to come out to eat a little and relieve herself. I just spoke to Laura Linville. She said she had gone over videos and the bill and was not going to deduct one cent. This is outrageous.

I'm grateful VEG operates 24/7--it's reassuring to know help is available for pets at any hour. Parking was free and convenient, and the hospital is in a nice area. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. However, I'm unsure about the quality of care. Our dog was scratching excessively, and I suggested it might be an allergic reaction. The initial visit cost $225, and they recommended shaving the area ($136) and giving an injection to stop the itching ($230). I questioned the injection because I didn't want to just mask symptoms. Shortly after we declined, our dog developed bumps and hives, confirming an allergic reaction, which was then treated appropriately. While I appreciate the availability and kindness, I wish the diagnosis had been clearer from the start and that treatment options were explained more thoroughly. Only after I asked questions about the services recommended, we found out what each of the treatments were and most of them were not needed at all, not in the diagnosis stage or on the treatment after.

I want to thank the amazing people at veg for turning one of the most stressful experiences into something comforting and reassuring. From the moment I walked in, I could feel the difference. The facility itself is stunning--bright, clean, and designed with an open floor plan that immediately puts you at ease. There's no sense of being shut off or left in the dark; instead, you're part of the process every step of the way. You can actually see what's happening, which builds so much trust right off the bat. What really blew me away was the team. The doctors and staff are incredibly kind, compassionate, and truly passionate about what they do. They took the time to explain every single step--what they were going to do, why they were doing it, and what I could expect next. And the best part? They do it all right in front of you. There's no whisking your pet away behind closed doors or leaving you wondering what's going on. It's transparent, honest, and so calming. I've never been to a vet before where I actually left feeling better than when I walked in. Usually, these visits are filled with anxiety and uncertainty, but not here. The staff made me feel like everything was going to be okay, and that kind of peace of mind is priceless when your pet is in distress. If you're ever in need of emergency vet services--or honestly, any veterinary care--look no further than veg. I can't thank them enough for the care they gave to both me and my pet. This is the kind of place that makes all the difference.

Best vet related experience ever. From the moment we stepped in till we left, we felt taken care of and supported. The entire staff is incredibly caring and kind. Our little dog felt comfortable and was helped immediately. We loved that we could be with her the whole time. Beautiful, clean space with a wonderful diverse team! Keep it up, VEG! We will recommend this place left and right.

I will not lie, the surgery was expensive. But! we had two more Christmas holidays with our Bonnie and we just cut back on our expenses. We were fortunate to be able to do this. If you want excellent quality of care, this is The Best of The Best. /////////That being said, this year (2026) the cost of everything is going up. What I would suggest is that you shop around and think about what emergency care you would need/want should your fur baby get really sick. And figure out your budget. This is an excellent hospital but there are also some excellent vets out there who can take good care of your pet for less money. You have to decide if you're going to go with the Cadillac or maybe stick with the Ford F150. /////The great thing about this hospital is that they have the most advanced techniques, very professional staff and they are a teaching hospital as well, with students from Cal Poly Pomona. You will get very thorough care. But don't go expecting things to be cheap. Going to veterinary school costs as much as going to medical school. Some of these reviews show an astonishing lack of understanding just how expensive it is to do all these tests, etc when basically it's the same equipment you would use on a human. Also, know that you can have all the money in the world but just as with people, when your animal's time has come, it has come. Be realistic and respectful of the doctors and staff at the hospital. If you are a pain in the...neck-sorry, but no matter how sweet your little dog/cat is, no one will want to deal with you. That's just the world of reality.

I had to call Pet Poison Line so they could tell the vets how to treat her-that's fine-and they wanted to do a full workup on her since she is 12. I said that's fine, that's what insurance is for. It was about 11pm when I was sent home to rest while they took care of her. At about two, they called me to tell me that she survived the nightshade poisoning, but they had found a thicker spot in her intestines in the x-ray, and they wanted to do follow-up images in the morning, so I got another estimate for them to keep her til the next day and run another round of x-rays and do an ultrasound. My kitty Vinny had routine dental cleaning at our regular vet that didn't go well. Removing his badly damaged upper canine teeth left him in major pain and distress. We were referred to Dr. Hobson at MASH. From the very first phone call, the entire team was incredibly kind and helpful. They got us in for a consultation within just a few days. Everyone -- from the office staff to the techs -- was compassionate and reassuring during a very stressful time. They took Vinny in back so Dr. Hobson could thoroughly examine him and review the records my regular vet had already sent over. When Dr. Hobson came into the exam room, he was patient, caring, and took the time to explain everything clearly. Vinny was in very bad shape and couldn't wait for the next available surgery slot the following week. Dr. Hobson consulted with his dental team, and they all graciously agreed to stay late that night to perform the emergency surgery Vinny needed. I left Vinny in their capable hands for the next 10 hours. The vet tech team kept me updated the entire time with texts and pics -- a huge shout-out to Arlene for her wonderful support! I picked Vinny up at 8pm (after hours). He underwent extensive corrective surgery, and it was a huge success! Dr. Hobson even personally followed up the next day to check on Vinny's progress. That level of dedication and exceptional care is rare these days. Several weeks later, Vinny has made a full recovery and is back to his happy self. The drive to MASH isn't the most convenient and the area isn't the best, but it is 100% worth it for the quality of care our pets receive. I cannot thank Dr. Hobson and his outstanding team enough -- especially Arlene, Jonathan, and Tika -- for going so far above and beyond for my boy Vinny. If your pet needs advanced dental care, look no further. This team is truly exceptional!

They were extremely busy but never showed me anything but kindness!! Even when picking up her ashes, she staff knew what was in that blue bag and everyone was just so kind!!! I even received a condolence card directly to my home from the full staff!!! I mean who does that??? Who cares for ur pet as much as you do!!! THEM!!! They do and they will during a wellness check or end of life treatment. When i'm ready for my next pet, they will for sure be my primary vet!!! Their hrs are soooo convenient too! Everyone i know i tell them to take their pets to KTown!!! Thank you staff for all you do!!!

She interrupted me rudely and said, "I'm not the one you spoke to," when all I was trying to do was get copies of my dog's records. I spent almost $1,700 here for my dog's pneumonia treatment, and unfortunately it did not help at all. They kept my dog for 5 hours, and after everything, I still had to bring her to a different hospital so she could get proper care. There was also a problem with my dog's prescription. They prescribed a medication that wasn't even available until Monday. I was honestly willing to let that pass because I understand things happen, but the rude attitude from the receptionist was too much. I understand vet hospitals can get busy, but clients who are worried about their pets deserve compassion, professionalism, and proper communication -- especially after spending that much money. Very disappointed with both the service and the overall experience.

Dr Ravi did the surgery and we appreciated the follow-up. Dr Lee and Dr Kerr also provided great support. Because Byron has IBD his symptoms could have been dismissed as part of his condition. We were lucky that when Dr Lee suggested an xray, we took her advice. Everyone at Long Beach Animal Emergency was amazing.

From the moment I arrived, my dog was taken to the back without anyone asking me to explain what was wrong or allowing me to be part of the initial assessment. My dog remained in the back for about an hour and a half before anyone spoke with me. I was eventually brought into an exam room--without my dog-and presented with a treatment plan and an estimate. As a pet owner, I expected to be involved much sooner and to have someone take the time to listen before making recommendations. I spent nearly five hours at the clinic, yet very little of that time involved communication or updates. Most of it was simply waiting, wondering what was happening with my dog. The payment policy was equally frustrating. You're given a low-end and high-end estimate, but you're required to pay the highest amount up front before any treatment is provided. When the original services aren't all used, it feels like other charges are added to bring the total closer to what you've already paid. Whether that's the intent or not, it leaves the impression that the estimate is structured to ensure customers pay the highest amount possible. The one bright spot was one veterinary technician who was kind, gentle, and genuinely caring with the animals. She showed the empathy and compassion that I wish had been reflected throughout the entire clinic. I also noticed that many negative reviews receive the same generic response asking customers to call the office. Respectfully, this experience wasn't the result of a simple misunderstanding-it reflected the overall way the clinic operates. I won't be returning unless I have absolutely no other choice. Veterinary care should combine medical expertise with compassion, communication, and respect for both pets and their owners. Unfortunately, that was not my experience here.

My dog was well taken care of and she eventually made a full recovery. What I really appreciated the most here was the genuine care Dr.Qiu and Halyna showed for my dog during her treatment. My dog spent 2 nights overnight as well under ACCESS's care and they saw to it that my dog was constantly being monitored for any life threatening developments Don't quite know how the other facets at ACCESS are but my experience has thus far been good!

The nurses, technicians, and other veterinarians we interacted with were kind, caring, and professional. They treated both my cat and my family with empathy, and I am grateful for that. Unfortunately, my experience with Dr. Howard was extremely disappointing. I found her to be rude, impatient, and dismissive. Every question felt like an inconvenience, and instead of feeling supported, I felt rushed and judged during an already heartbreaking situation. I understand that veterinarians have demanding jobs and see difficult cases every day. But for pet owners, these are not just cases, they are family members. A little kindness and empathy can make a huge difference when someone is facing the possible loss of a beloved pet. Afterward, we sought a second opinion from another veterinarian. After reviewing my cat's case, that veterinarian raised concerns about some of Dr. Howard's medical decisions and approach to treatment. Hearing that only reinforced the doubts I already had about the care we received. I would not recommend Dr. Howard to pet owners who are looking for a veterinarian who communicates with empathy and patience.

My regular vet was booked and as the animals needed immediate care, I was referred to this facility. I have been very pleased with everything here both times. I highly recommend for your urgent care needs. The place is very clean. The front desk staff, technician and veterinarian are all very kind, calm and attentive. The cost for urgent care services both times was reasonable and lower than what I expected. They itemized costs, educated me on the medication options, answered my questions and respected my choices. They did not try to up-sell me on additional services, etc. They will send a report to your main veterinarian regarding the visit & treatment, etc., and suggest you follow-up with your main vet, as well. This is walk-in only (website is incorrect) and both times we were seen right away. There is a small, easy access parking lot behind the building - the office entrance is in parking area. Their hours are Noon-10pm, Monday-Friday - per website.

Thank you to each and every one of you that took care of my boy. I would 100% recommend this office for your veterinary needs and have found the only place I will be bringing our fur babies back to!!!
