My puppy stayed 2 nights and every day the attending doctor would call me to give an update. The staff also sent pictures and a quick text to say how she was doing. They also provided financial updates as well which was great. If it wasn't for them by puppy would not be alive. Thank you Dr Clemmons and staff - from Ember

We cannot say enough wonderful things about Rockledge Specialty & Emergency Hospital and the care…read morethey have given our baby cat, Eddie!!! His journey has NOT been simple, and they have supported us medically and emotionally every step of the way. Eddie came in very sick, and instead of guessing or rushing, the team took a very thoughtful and thorough approach. He had so many things done, including staying overnight multiple times, an echocardiogram, ultrasounds, blood work, PCV checks, and multiple rounds of testing to try to understand what was happening. It was all soooo confusing as to what was wrong with him, but the team never gave up. They carefully ruled things out, explained results clearly, and never made us feel rushed or like our questions were a burden. Eventually, the doctors shared that Eddie might be facing FIP or lymphoma which was so scary to hear - but they walked us through what that meant, what treatment options existed, and what to expect. They were honest, compassionate, and hopeful in all the right ways. We had the FIP medication overnighted and started it immediately, and have seen amazing results! This would not have been possible without Dr. Smith's intellect and dedication. Along the way, the staff constantly reminded us how much they loved Eddie and how sweet he is, which meant so much especially on the hard days. He has always been treated like a loved patient, not just "another cat." We were especially touched when Dr. Smith came in during his Thanksgiving break to care for Eddie when he needed treatment. That kind of commitment is rare, and we will never forget it!! Today, Eddie is gaining weight, healing, and slowly getting stronger, and we truly believe we wouldn't be here without the careful, dedicated care from this hospital. We are deeply grateful for the doctors, technicians, and staff at this hospital. If you are looking for a veterinary team that combines outstanding medical knowledge with genuine compassion and heart, this is the place to go!!! Thank you to everyone who works there! Love EDDIE, Mom Frankie, & Dad Joe

Dr. Eginton is a talented surgeon and a very kind person. She set clear expectations pre-surgery about the risks/recovery period & was quick to respond when I had post-op questions/concerns. She went over all the discharge instructions line by line and even took the time (after a long day) to walk Lucy out & provide guidance how to safely lift her into my SUV. Lucy's incision has since healed (she initially wore a cone and then surgical recovery suit 14 days), her skin color has normalized, and appetite returned. She's a happy girl! Thank you Dr. Eginton and Animal Specialty & Emergency Center of Brevard Team!

I have visited only twice, first due to my elderly small dog suffering a neurological issue,…read moreseizure and paralysis and the second due to my mom's dog in an extremely ill situation. In both cases, we (coincidentally) received care from Dr. Hammett, who was an incredibly kind, compassionate, and thorough doctor. I cannot thank Dr. Hammett enough for his gentle care. In both cases, humane euthanasia were the ultimate decisions and Dr. Hammett was so supportive. I can't thank him and this group enough for their incredible diagnostics, care, and gentle and respectful communication. I live out of state, so finding a practice so compassionate in an emergency situation was unexpected, but truly made all of the difference.

Our sweet Charlie ended up at the emergency vet with a bladder obstruction that required surgery…read more What started as straining to pee turned into a whirlwind of ER visits, anesthesia, and a major procedure to remove stones from his bladder. I don't usually share personal stuff like this, but I'm making this post for one reason only. If you ever have an emergency with your pet, go to VEG ER for Pets. When we were trying to find a vet to perform the surgery, our VEG doctor sat there and personally called vet after vet to get someone to fit us in. And when we finally found the right place, she stayed on the phone with the surgeon and fully briefed him on Charlie's condition so there was not a single gap in his care. They kept us informed, comforted, and confident that our boy was in the best hands. He made it through surgery like a champ and finally came home but after we got him settled, his temperature dropped and we had to rush him back to VEG. They immediately took him in, warmed him, ran an ultrasound to make sure nothing was wrong, monitored him until he was stable... and didn't charge us a dime. Because of how long this whole process was, and having to go back again, we saw three different doctors at VEG, and every single one of them treated Charlie (and us) with the exact same level of urgency, compassion, and kindness. That consistency in care meant everything to us. Charlie is home now, snuggled in blankets, eating, and slowly getting stronger! If you ever face an emergency with your fur baby, VEG is the place to go. We are beyond grateful and will recommend them to anyone and everyone.

Unfortunately I have to go here many times! Just 3 days ago,…read moremy little dog got bit by a Pygmy Rattlesnake! They are always so polite and work as hard as they can to help every animal that comes in. Service is based on severity of an animals condition, same as a human hospital. Some people get so mad because they have to wait, sometimes for hours. But take a minute to think about it. If you have a pet that was hit by a car and needed immediate medical attention, would YOU want to wait until it was your turn! While watching them help another animal that maybe had a broken leg. I GET IT, as an avid pet owner who loves her dogs, no one wants them to be in pain! I have gone there with a life emergency and was seen right away with surgery required. Other times I have had to wait for hours. I am good with it either way! Folks complain about the cost, yep, it's expensive but again, how much does it cost to go to the emergency room for humans? Plus, most of the people that work here also work at regular vet locations. Do I recommend them? You bet I do!!
