Another nurse kept coming in and out just trying to talk money and financial plans and credit cards I could open up to help pay for the treatment. She was extremely insensitive to the fact that I just wanted to see my sick cat. I finally got to see him and discussed with Dr. Long that she hopes to see improvements the next day. The next day comes and Dr. Long goes on a spiel on how she thinks he's improved and is walking around in his cage and drinking water. I was so excited and ready to pay for another treatment right there. Luckily, My mom told me to see him before I pay for anything else. When they took me back to see him, he could barely open his eyes and hold his head up or even stand. I really would've appreciated HONESTY from the staff on his stability and chances of actually getting better. Again, THE NURSE LISA, was very kind, let me have time with my cat in a private room and was very honest with us about his recovery. Our girl was there for 3 nights and 4 days. The staff was amazing! They called us regularly to keep us updated, and even put a tablet in front of her kennel because we told them she likes to watch TV! They brought us blankets so we could lay with our girl and get her to rest and eat. We were able to spend hours at a time with our girl anytime we wanted. There are at least 3 doctors I saw, and so many vet techs who seem to love what they do. I really appreciate all that was done for my cat. I attached my bill as well to my review. Although kind of expensive, it is worth it to have my cat be alive and well. They did give me a discount, again, they were very kind. Base visit is $180 and anything additional will be added in a quote they will show you before more care is applied to your pet. They see cats and dogs, as well as other animals and exotic animals such as birds/rabbits/bearded dragons/etc. I would definitely come back here if my cats were in distress.

My experience - extremely long wait. The pricing is insane but they are your babies so you basically just take a deep breath and sign away. My animal wound up needing emergency surgery after sitting there for about 6 hours. I was told the estimated price and the deposit needed. I did ask if they had a payment plan which the tech said "no it must be paid up front" which later one I realized that you can do care credit so I didn't appreciate that that wasn't recommended as an option for me. So I gave them $5,500 as a deposit and was ready to visit with my baby before leaving. As I was visiting they approached me and told me they didn't have what they needed for my cats surgery so basically I had to bring her up to UF animal hospital 2 hours away. They did refund about $3,900 back onto my credit card for the surgery deposit. I started my journey with my cat at 10am and didn't get to the UF hospital until 6:30pm. It was an extremely long day I'm proud of my girl for getting through it. All in all I would obviously go back to this hospital for an emergency just know the wait will be long, the price will be high, AND you can definitely apply for care credit and use it the same day. I was immediately approved at the other hospital and used it that night to pay for the surgery.

I'm a worried mess and calling to check on her is a challenge, I was on hold for over 20 minutes before I could talk to a live human. The building itself is very clean and cold! Bring a sweater if you are going to be here for a while. Every room I saw had a wash station and the staff was very accommodating by providing absorbent pads for my bleeding pup. At this time we are still waiting to see how she will do. She lost a lot of blood supposedly due to pancreatitis. Emergency care is extremely expensive so I advise getting pet insurance before your pet gets sick or injured. They do take Care Credit to help pay for costly treatments.

She returned to address my complaint directly and told me, essentially, that this was "just her personality." In an already stressful emergency, that made the situation significantly worse. The veterinarian handled my concerns appropriately and apologized, which I appreciated. But emergency veterinary care requires more than competent medical treatment. People are often walking through the door scared, upset, and worried that they may lose a member of their family. Basic compassion matters. I'm thankful Beau is safe, but I left deeply disappointed in how I was treated. If you have another emergency veterinary option nearby, I would seriously consider it to avoid having a similar experience.
