And this mom could relax a bit knowing Caroline (the dog) was safe with her Bestie Madison! Madison is truly a rare gem! Love her in every way and such a great asset to both the Hospital and Play Camp. Her leadership at the Play Camp shines through to all her team there too. They are amazing! Always friendly! Thank God these emergency clinics are open 24/7 because they were able to see her and admit her into their hospital. When I called the emergency number I was answered right away by a very kind person who listened and responded to my frantic questions. The staff was very calm and reassuring knowing that this is my baby. Once we got there the long wait began. I was there for about 4 hours, including an hour in the waiting room, before I was sent home without my pet. The male doctor who came to talk to me promised to send pictures of my puppy receiving treatment throughout the night and next day to reassure me but never did it. I'm a worried mess and calling to check on her is a challenge, I was on hold for over 20 minutes before I could talk to a live human. The building itself is very clean and cold! Bring a sweater if you are going to be here for a while. Every room I saw had a wash station and the staff was very accommodating by providing absorbent pads for my bleeding pup. At this time we are still waiting to see how she will do. She lost a lot of blood supposedly due to pancreatitis. Emergency care is extremely expensive so I advise getting pet insurance before your pet gets sick or injured. They do take Care Credit to help pay for costly treatments.

The medical care itself was good. Unfortunately, the customer experience was not. I brought Beau in after witnessing him swallow hair ties, and I was terrified he might have an intestinal obstruction or need surgery. While I was sitting in the room crying and waiting for answers, a staff member came in to discuss pricing in a way that felt extremely cold and transactional, with almost no acknowledgment of what was happening or the fact that I was visibly distressed. I later specifically asked the front desk that this staff member not be sent back into the room. That request was ignored. She returned to address my complaint directly and told me, essentially, that this was "just her personality." In an already stressful emergency, that made the situation significantly worse. The veterinarian handled my concerns appropriately and apologized, which I appreciated. But emergency veterinary care requires more than competent medical treatment. People are often walking through the door scared, upset, and worried that they may lose a member of their family. Basic compassion matters. I'm thankful Beau is safe, but I left deeply disappointed in how I was treated. If you have another emergency veterinary option nearby, I would seriously consider it to avoid having a similar experience.

Casper, my cat, had a bad experience about 5 years ago, and ever since then, he's a menace at the vet and has always had to be put under full anesthesia. He had a really stressful experience with anesthesia at the last vet he went to, so I was pretty intense with them about him having a better experience here. They were so kind and so understanding and helpful, and they never treated me like I was being too much or inconveniencing them, which I appreciated so much. No vet since the one 5 years ago has been able to touch him without full anesthesia. I'm not sure what it was about this place, but he wasn't losing his mind, he wasn't hissing, he wasn't trying to attack, and he wanted out of his carrier. I was super nervous to let him out, but I did because he seemed to be doing okay. He explored and was OKAY! It was amazing. Then our vet tech Emily was absolutely incredible and was so kind and sweet to my baby- he can be a little rude and high strung so I really appreciated that she went the extra mile to make him feel comfortable. We didn't do a full exam, but he was letting us touch him and weigh him and everything, and then they put him under to biopsy a lump. I took one of my pugs for his first appointment recently and had a great experience. The staff and…read morethe vet were very friendly and gentle with our senior pug. He usually hates going to the vet and gets anxious and trembles. The other vets used to take him to the back and give him his shots. At first he was a little anxious but they were so kind and gentle with him that he started to feel relaxed and comfortable. They also asked if we'd be ok giving him his shots in the room with us present and we were definitely fine with that. We look forward to going back and taking our little girl pug next. We use their doggie day care 1-3x week and have also used for minor grooming like baths and nail trims. We also get our pet food from them along with a number of toys and treats. She doesn't carry anything she wouldn't give to her own pups, and many toys have tested in DDC. My dog loves it so much that he sits by the garage door every morning hoping its a DDC day!
