I had an appointment in Miramar so what a great excuse to try a new place.....right?!?! I am so happy this is the spot we chose. Let's start with the cute store front. Super cute spot and CLEAN! Pretty small.....no seating but the food is front and center. We were greeted by Aisha the owner of this cute little gem. She had so much passion when she spoke about her food.....I LOVE THAT! Super sweet and personable. We felt welcome upon entering. The food was incredible....exceeded all of my expectations. We ordered 2 of almost everything. Spanakopita, Buffalo Empanadas, Potato Samosas, Guava Cheese Pastry, Meat Filled Pastry, Cream Horns, "Ham and Cheese" Pastry, Cookies, and more empanadas. She includes heating instructions for her product....LOVE THAT! She cooks small batches to keep her product fresh throughout the day.......PASSION! Everything was incredible! Aisha is American born with Indian and Middle Eastern roots and it is front and center in her food. So much flavor! The Spanakopita was a "lemony spinachy" piece of heaven! The Cream Horn was..... Years ago in a vegan meet up I met a guy named Anubis who mentioned he had a stand in the Yellow Green Market where he and his partner sells vegan desserts... Little that I knew, Vegan Delights was that stand... little that I knew, Anubis and Isis will still have something in common, but this time thanks to my sweet tooth... I come to the market and my first stop is at this place... Sometimes my friend Anubis is there so I can say hello; most of the times, his sister is the one taking care of the business... I always try something new.. my favorites items are... cheese and strawberries Danish, cream horns and chikken empanada. The baklava is also delicious, as well as the 'pastelitos'. Great find in the Hollywood Yellow Green Farmers Market! My friend Ariel P. is a vegan and helping me explore a new side of healthy eating. We wandered the YG Market and stumbled across Vegan Delights. At first just attracted by the colorful treats and amazed to see they were vegan, however the main attracting VEGAN MACAROONS! Oh my goodness !!!! Loved loved loved this bakery on Miramar!!!! The chocolate orange, pomegranate, horns, turnovers were so delicious!!! Loved the owner. We flew to Fort Lauderdale for a mini vacation and then 2 weeks later flew back down on the way to fort Myers and went again. By the time we got to fort Myers everything we planned on taking to our family, we ate on the way!!! The flavors were so delicious and to think it was vegan!!!! The tastes are complex and thoroughly enjoyable in every way. The pastry is perfect and the fillings show a great understanding on the part of the chefs of mouth feel and the perfect combination of savory and sweet in the savory pastries. We tried the empanadas this week. The sauces provided with the empanadas were the perfect complement.
