Hey Yelp friends. I recently visited because I was taking a praxis for my teaching license. The staff here are so kind and funny. I felt so at ease waiting to be checked in for my exam. I have only had positive experiences. I highly recommend this location. The building is easy to find. The parking lot is accessed right off Flamingo when you are heading west. There are restrooms that are spacious and clean. The walls heading upstairs are adorned with beautiful blown glass. I have not been able to take pics because I am not allowed my phone when I take my exam. When you do come for an exam they ask that you only bring your DL. And keys. They will secure them for you. Do not wear any extra jewelry, you can have a plastic water bottle with no label. They will use a metal detector and they will check your glasses to make sure they are not AI. They will provide paper, pencils, and ear plugs. I personally find the earplugs helpful. The testing room has an attendant to check you in. She will take your id and sign in sheet. She will take your picture and have you read a card at a whisper (due to others testing). She will walk you to your desk and computer and sign you in to get you started. Vegas PBS Educational Technology Campus - Earth Month!! - Television Stations Near Me - Las Vegas, Nevada

Came here to register my daughter for 1st grade. It was a little confusing when walking in because there are two receptionist, but after reading the signs taped to the plexiglass, the furthest lady was for PBS Television and the lady on the right was for registration for Nevada Learning Academy. Once I got to the right room I had to fill out more paper work on the computer than went to another room and a lady finished up the registration. I felt like it was way to many steps to just register my child and took way longer than I intended to be there. I got it done though and it's one less thing on my list to do. read more

Vegas PBS Educational Technology Campus - Television Stations Near Me - Las Vegas, Nevada

I had the chance to have lunch and take a tour of the Vegas PBS Educational Technology Campus yesterday and the pace is amazing. This is the most green PBS building in the US--LEED Gold. The technology involved in the building is fascinating. A concrete parking lot instead of blacktop to reflect the sun and keep the area cooler. Medium sized mesh metal screens about 2 feet away from the window glass. This allows lots of light to come through, but keeps the rays from heating the glass and making cooling of the building harder. Louvers on the windows to reflect sun away from the building--at an angle specifically placed for this latitude--again allowing light through but helping keep the building cooler. The building is divided into two sections. One side is the Clark County School District's Educational Media Services (EMS), Vegas Virtual Online Education and Clark County School District's Virtual High School. The other half of the building is for the Vegas PBS studios and their support for various community programs. There's also a section on the PBS side that has a computer center that has all the blueprints for every public school in Clark County so emergency personnel could access that information in a crisis. It's a fascinating set up. The building was designed to withstand a magnitude 6 or 7 earthquake that comes along every 10,000 years or so in Las Vegas. The studio side is built in four distinct parts and the stairs all have reinforced cables attached in several directions. All this is one reason why it took 10 years to plan, design, and raise the money to build and complete the facility. It is fascinating! Finally, we got into the studios. It's one large area with several sets for different programs that originate from Vegas PBS. We then went into the control room where all of this comes together and saw the adjacent sound room. Whenever I watch programs on PBS, I'll remember the tour and it will bring back memories of where the program originates. Pretty disappointed that the lady who was administrating the certified typing test explains that you get 2 attempts and high suggests you take both tries because they only use your highest score. But she fails to tell you that both tries stay on your "record" their for verification purposes. I don't think it's necessary to keep both tries if your writing on the certificate the highest score. Also, I think it's extremely misleading to encourage people to use both attempts but not tell them that everything they do stays on their file there. Overall place was nice and I can't comment on the other services. Typing test was fine and computer lab was clean and cool for summer. But the lady administrating the test should be more clear to people and fully explain what 2 attempts actually mean. read more

Very cool building! Came here for two days of professional development with CCSD. The focus was on tech, which was fitting for the location seeing as how it also houses the virtual high school. Unfortuantely, throughout our visit we had several tech issues: wifi was spotty, laptops we were provided had major login issues, and devices generally experienced a lot of delays. This was especially frustrating as the training is to prepare us for going one-to-one with devices with our students- this was a good exposure to the many issues that can derail tech-based teaching. That being said, staff here were exceptionally helpful and friendly, attentive to the difficulties and attempting to repair or alleviate them as needed. Building itself is LEED gold certified, which is impressive. Information is posted in halls to read up on it, but the building itself is attractive and functional: exterior is nice, many windows, reserved parking for hybrid vehicles, and greenery and plant landscaping between buildings and in nooks/courtyard spaces. Bathrooms feature low-flow toilets with the green flush handles to specify liquid or solid waste. Was surprised that the bathrooms had papertowels rather than relying on Dyson blade dryers, or some similar product. Overall pleasant experience. Interested in touring the PBS section of the building on a future visit. More LEED building info from posters in the hallway: -building designed so 75% of people inside are able to have a view/natural light -parking lot, roof, and exterior done in white/off white colors to lessen "heat island effect" -Uses dolphin water filtration system (whatever this means) -water can be harvested from the roof?! read more

This is such a sad review because I wanted to give them a chance but time after time, so disappointing. Summer is supposed to be an Office Supervisor? There is no urgency at this place and no one follows up on phone calls. This place gives a beloved channel a sad name read more

Scheduled a typing test the previous day for this location. Due to Covid many new policies have been put into place. Only allowing 9 people in the testing room, masks required etc... only complaint I have is the email they sent clearly states to text the number to check in when you arrive, do not come to the front door. I arrived 30 minutes before also like the emails asks and literally sat in my car for 30 minutes with no response from the text line. I called the main building and was told to "just walk in." So with that being said communication could be better within the building and it's employees. Overall 4 stars! read more
