The food is spicy but also sweet and super flavorful. The masala fries were very good and I don't know if I'll ever feel the same about just ketchup and fries again. The vegetable momos were very good but eclipsed by all the other delicious food. The vegan kalga gyro (they say Jy-ro) came wrapped up with fries, onion, cucumber, melted daiya, and at least two delicious sauces. Quite a hidden gem. They are only open Monday to Friday but they do have a huge assortment of vegan and vegetarian Chinese Food. What I like is that they tell you what is vegan and what is vegetarian. 90% of the store is vegan, but anything that contains milk or dairy is pointed out on the sign. They have a huge assortment of Asian vegan and vegetarian food. I purchased a couple of frozen entrees (black pepper "beef" with rice and "chicken" tikka masala). The entrees are around $7 to $8. They are frozen and all you have to do is pop them in the microwave for 4 minutes. Very tasty. In addition, I also purchased packages of vegan shiu mai, vegan BBQ pork buns and vegan curry buns. Shiu mai was $14 for 35 small dumplings, and the buns were around $4 for 6 or so. While slightly pricier than real meat, it definitely looked and tasted like the real thing. Unfortunately, if you're vegan or vegetarian and want mock meats, it is more expensive than real meat, ironically. However, the majority of the food here is hand made, and also cheaper. Verdict: if you're looking for Chinese vegan/vegetarian food, something different than the typical stuff you get at Canadian supermarkets, then I'd definitely recommend you check it out. However, just a word of warning, some of the stuff is higher in sodium, so this should be more of a treat than an everyday thing (unless you don't care about your salt intake, then go for it).
