    Oaxaca

I've passed by this Kupfert and Kim so many times and there is always a line-up. In my attempt to eat better, I decided to give K&K a try. Kupfert and Kim claims to be meatless and wheatless restaurant, so far so good. But does that mean healthy? Well, no. Based on other Yelp reviews, I decided to order the Oaxaca. The food was overflowing and I could not close the top of the box. A pretty good deal for $13. I bit into the tortilla chip and immediately noticed how salty it is. I bit into the kale and beets and all I could think about was the salt content in the sauce. Underneath the kale is corn and black beans, which I thoroughly enjoyed. Underneath that is a bed of brown rice. I thought there was just too much rice (i.e. carbs). I can see why people love this dish -- it's very salty. However, I wouldn't call it healthy. If I were to order this again, I would skip the tortilla chips, place sauce on the side, and ask for more black beans and less rice.

Love this noble eatery. Great options, great ingredients; no bs. Highly recommend. Good quality.

Everything is great at Kupfert & Kim - wonderful, healthy, delicious food for your soul. This is food that nutritious your body. The staff are kind and helpful! The menu consists of a larger selection than the 1st Canadian Place. Admittedly, it is slightly more costly than other offerings in the PATH. It is, however well worth the extra cost, especially for your health. There are also great muffins, cookies and sweets options to keep your belly happy and energy high! Kupfert & Kim helps you go-on-and-on like the energizer bunny!

Fresh, quick, healthy. I got the first Canadian place and it was pretty good! I'm not vegetarian or vegan but am interested in vegan cuisine. Finding this place was pretty eye opening as there were things I haven't tried before. Tofu slices with nuts inside that was formed to look like a nougat, I've never tasted anything that before. I wasn't a fan of the tofu but it wasn't bad and I'd eat it again. I brought my box to waterfront and ate it there and it felt amazing. My food was effortlessly beautiful and it tasted good too.

Kupfert & Kim is a pretty great place for vegan food! A friend of mine picked up dinner for us on her way over to my house. I had never tried Kupfert & Kim before, so I tried the Great Canadian bowl. It was really good! It had a nice balance of fresh, sweet, and salty flavours. The pomegranate seeds were a nice textural addition. My only complaint was that the tempeh was very salty. My friend agreed with my critique as well. The menu is pretty wide so you can try many different things without getting bored. I'm really curious about the burger of day options, so that is likely my next thing to check out.

I can't speak to the specifics of my meal's healthiness or health factors (I'm more of a Popeye's kind of girl), but wow - if this is what healthy food tastes like, I would voluntarily eat it everyday. I visited on a Tuesday at exactly 12:00 PM and the lunch rush hadn't really begun yet, thankfully. After seeing the pictures, I ordered the Oaxaca (which I was told is apparently pronounced OH-HA-CAH - I butchered it the first time). I don't know how on earth they made the salad taste this delicious, but it was. Best "healthy" lunch I've ordered in the Financial District, filled with brown rice, black beans, kale, stringed beets, corn, tortilla chips and a mixture of pico de gallo, guacamole and cashew cream slathered all over these veggies. The sauce made the salad, and the combination of favours absolutely blew me away. My total was $10.40 plus tax, which was $11.75. Can't wait to come back and try the other options!

One of my favourite healthy spots in the Path. I love their Asian inspired box - the almond lime one. The prices are relatively reasonable for the path (around $10) and they usually have enough supply for dinner around 6:30pm as well. Even the hot sauce is vegan and green (it kind of looks like a green smoothie.

This little gem is hidden in the PATH under the First Canadian Place. It's wheatless and meatless! I ordered the First Canadian Place bowl, and it was absolutely delicious. There was quinoa, carrots, kale, tempeh, sweet potato and beat slaw dressed in a chia maple dressing. It also came with cabbage, but I opted out. You get SO much in the box, for such a little price! There was 3 people in line ahead of me, and they were still SO quick to get my food to me! I think I waited for 12 seconds before my meal was ready. Fast, cheap and delicious. Not to mention: HEALTHY!

It can be difficult to make health food taste good, but the line outside Kupfert & Kim during lunch hours is testament to just how good their food is. During my one month in Toronto, I tried everything on the menu and the workers probably know me by name. The green smoothie is one of the best veggie smoothies I've had, with a kick of ginger with the pear, banana, and kale. It definitely tastes nutritious and is not for palates accustomed to sugary Jamba Juice smoothies. They offer a variety of bowls, each with an amazing dressing that pairs perfectly with the ingredients in the box. One of my favorites is the Oaxaca, which is essentially a kale and quinoa salad topped with Mexican toppings like corn, pico de gallo, black beans, and avocado. They include a cashew cream that's drizzled on top, and the nutty flavor is perfect with the spices of the bowl. I also love the Kim, which is a Korean-style bowl with bok choy and marinated tofu. With so many different kinds of vegetables and flavors, it's extremely hearty and leaves me full for hours. With fresh and seasonal ingredients mixed up in novel ways, Kupfert & Kim is definitely one of my favorite lunch spots and will continue to be long after I'm back in San Francisco!

Burger of the day - $11.75. Yummy!

It said established in 1919, so we thought it's a good sign it's been in business over a century; although not this location specifically. Their history in the 20th century was that they started in Berlin, Germany in 1919, but they were a Jewish family who ended up immgrating to Israel in 1933, opening their store there, and expanded locations throughout Israel. Their history in Toronto & North America (including some in the US) is much more recent since opening in 2017. Unfortunately, my closest is New York City; none in Maryland or DC area. This location is in busy downtown Toronto. We sat outside on their big patio area as the weather was warm and could enjoy the view of the buildings, people, cars, etc. Server was friendly answering our questions. I ended up getting an egg benedict with salmon in a croissant. It was creative and delicious take on egg benedict. The only issue was it was messy to eat in the croissant, but I didn't care as it was so delicious. My girlfriend got a Belgian waffle with blueberries, whipped cream, etc. It was unique and very good & sweet too as I tried a bite. Overall, this was a 5-star experience with great food, service, & atmosphere.

Service: It was not great. We sat for a while and no one took attention (we were outside and they were busy but no excuse for them -- they should do better). We had folks come in and out and were somewhat nonchalant and not attentive. Food: This was the great part of the experience. - Berries and Granola with Greek Yogurt: My brother in law got this an he devoured it and said it was great. - Farmers Breakfast: My wife got this and she LOVED it. She went back to get their Halwah Latte (which she said was just OK) - Egg white Omlette Skillet: I customized my food and it was good -- for reference I've had better only because the cheese was feta and it was unclear that this was the only option as I don't love feta. Also I'm pretty sure while I asked for egg whites there was normal egg (i.e., eggs). If you order egg white make sure the server hears you. They screwed this up for me. This is why I'm giving it three stars -- I could have made a stink but didn't think it was necessary to do so. All in all -- I'd recommend this spot to folks but don't go there thinking the service will be great.

We ordered medium spicy for the papaya salad and it only had a slight kick. I wished the salad portion was more as it was gone pretty quickly. It comes with shrimp chips, pork rinds, and 2 small bundles of rice noodles. The dried shrimp in the salad was very chewy though, which made it a bit less enjoyable. I ended up picking them all out. We ordered spicy for the pad gra prow but it wasn't spicy at all. I think you can ask for the Thai chilis/ Thai chili fish sauce thing on the side but we decided we were fine with no spicy. Unfortunately the crispy pork was not crispy at all and was also very chewy. Overall it was still delicious! The Khao soi mightve honestly been the least favorite, but it was still good. It is on the sweeter side. The egg noodles were cooked al dente and had a nice chew. Sometimes when I get Khao soi it ends up being too heavy or creamy, but the curry for this one was thinner and easy to eat. The shrimp was the best part - super fresh and bouncy. In the end I thought the portions and quality were good. The service was also super nice, and it was impressive to see our waitress cover so many tables. The restrooms were also clean.

The cocktail program is creative, with a thoughtful lineup of drinks, beers, and wines. We tried two cocktails--both delicious, though quite small for the price. A bit of a Toronto theme, it seems. We chose the six-course vegan prix fixe. Each plate was a true piece of art, crafted with precision and intention. You get to experience a range of flavors and techniques, though the dishes lean more toward tasting portions than filling plates. We left a bit hungry, and the pricing felt high for the amount of food. The best way to think of it is as investing in edible art--beautiful, expressive, and memorable, though not necessarily hearty.
