Dr. Makris and the staff was super nice and caring - they checked in on me the next day and gave good insturction for the post procedure care. I had very little wait time and was provided a complimentary ultrasound screening to determine the best course of treatment. My recommended treatment was sclerotherapy. The nurses that treated me (Celina and Dana) were so professional and caring throughout the procedure, which was not very painful. I had 4 lasers, 3 in the right leg and 1 in my left leg. The Dr had a guy names Ken helping her out at that time during the procedure. I felt the Dr was very nice and very easy to talk to. It was only after the lasers in the Libertyville office that I found out that I had to go to Arlington Heights for the spider vein treatment. They had this girl named Elizabeth working the desk, she was so rude it was shocking. However, I made my appointments for treatment and was told Marisa was going to be doing the treatments. The first time in the office Marisa walked in laughing and saying her last patient was in her 80's and was hyperventilating. I didn't find that funny at all. The first two veins she treated she literally pinched to where I screamed at her. I think she must have some sick sense of making people have pain. More to follow on that. I figured that I was paying $400 a session I would be able to tell her where I wanted treated, nope. This girl thinks she knows everything. In fact she would purposely leave a big vein untreated say on the middle of your thigh so you would have to come back. The last treatment she left me with matted veins that looked like someone hit me with a baseball bat. I was less than please to say the lease. Especially, since there were no visible veins in that area to ever treat but she like I said knows everything. After three treatments, I made the 4th treatment around the Covid time and was surprised that a girl named Tina was going to be doing the treatment. I was so pleased I can't even begin to tell you. The first meeting she basically asked me to tell her where and what veins I wanted treated first. I couldn't believe the luck I had. Tina treated so many veins and I had a lot still after 3 treatments from Marisa. Tina had a method that she would treat the vein and then come back with a bigger gage needle and nick the vein to bleed it. One treatment I was left with a wound that I had to keep moist and bandaged so allow it to heal, it turned out fine though. I went to Tina for 3 treatments. At this time I had done 6 treatments. After seeing the Dr she told me and I will quote "Marisa knows which veins to treat". You'd better believe I was so disappointed that the wicked witch Marisa was back. So I made an appointment. I tried to talk to her specifically about the big matted vein mass that she had left on my inside of my knee. I stated that Tina really had to needle me in that area a great deal to get rid of it. Well, unbeknown to be this really brought out Marisa's psycho side. Again though Marisa wouldn't treat the veins that I wanted treated. Veins I might add that I specifically asked the Dr about too. Then when I mentioned the wound that I had Marisa gave me this look like sure, whatever. Then in that treatment she ended up giving me 2 wounds that seemed to just get deeper and deeper into the skin. The worst however was the last needle. Marisa literally stabbed me in the thigh and when I said ouch, she said "well you wanted me to needle you like Tina did" I was pissed! She took off out of the office because if anyone needed her face punched it was her, I should have probably called the police, I know what assault is especially after 7 treatments. I have waited this long to write the review because I wanted to see how another location treated the veins. Although, I did have another vein wound from another person. After 3 more treatments, they were still unable to get rid of the vein that Marisa stabbed into me. The Dr needs to really set up a camera in those treatment rooms so she can see what type of a nut job she hired. . Therefore, let Dr do your laser treatments. Run, before you ever allow Marisa to touch you. I am quite sure if she reads this review, she will remember exactly who I am and what she did. Any location and or hospital can treat the spider veins and they charge the same price so why go to a nut job.
