I DO NOT recommend Rush Copley and warn others NOT to trust that they will take care of you because they will not.

Hospital staff were emotionally abusive to the patient IN THE PRESENCE OF THE FAMILY. I shudder to think how our loved one was treated when the family was not around. I believe that this standard of "care" would not be allowed under the Geneva Convention for prisoners of war! After transferring to a different hospital, much more compassionate care was immediately evident. Moreover, the doctors at this second hospital had far more theories of the case and considered at lot more potential treatments than Rush Copley physicians. Ultimately, the physicians at the second hospital figured out the medical issue very quickly, while Rush Copley never did in a lot more time. I am no medical expert, but I think all of this might mean that the Rush Copley Hospital was medically incompetent, if not negligent. Don't let your loved one--or even your worst enemy--check into the Rush Copley hospital! Go to Delnor or Good Samaritan hospitals instead. Both are highly rated and have been great experiences for our family over the years.

My wife was brought to St Joseph by ambulance when she was unable to breathe at 3 am. Like so many…read moreothers we had only seen negative reviews of this hospital and were a little worried. The staff was fantastic. The ER nurses and doctors were so helpful and knowledgeable walking us thru everything they were doing and addressing all of our concerns. They were able to get her into a position that allowed her to breathe easier. They then got in touch with an ENT doctor who was able to scope her throat bedside right in the ER to see what the obstruction was. He told us that based on a quick visual it looked like a large polyp and was able to remove it that afternoon. Obviously it will need to be sent to a lab for a biopsy but his confidence and bedside manner really calmed our fears. The surgical team walked us through what was going to happen and after the anesthesia team put her to sleep, it took the doctor about 10 minutes to remove the obstruction. About 2 hours later we were back at home.

They took it upon themselves to cancel that order from the drug company because they could order it themselves and get the medication themselves next week. I need it this week, but I also would need to get a round of steroids if I wait another week. They want me to also drive more than 40 miles next week, because the infusion clinic I normally go to is closed, to get the medication which would mean I would need to take a day off of work Thanksgiving week when we are not able to take days off and with no notice. I will not be using this infusion center again. Nice rooms and chairs does not fix this type of situation that effects my health.
