Remember folks, that in any dispute there will be parties who do not like any if not all of the outcomes. It does not mean this law firm deserves a 1 star review. Dealing with family estates, aging parents and children who perhaps feel like they have not been treated fairly are bound to have negative emotions, and the path of least resistance is to write a bad review here. Do not use this lawyer please, if any issue comes up he will not back you up and conspires to let other attorneys take advantage of you. He refused to help and defend my mother of 80 years old with cancer from another attorney who did elder abuse with my mom after paying Velasco to do her trust and he did not protect her interest or even refer her to another lawyer to help her. He will not protect or litigate on your behalf, he is just a lawyer who uses templates and changes the dates and clients names. It's very sad. I thought he had a heart. read more

Much like other reviewers here I was not able to get a return phone call. I phoned three times over the course of a week. Each time I was promised a return call to set up an appointment. That never happened. On the third call I was told they were not interested in the case. Not sure what their decision was based on as they had very little specific information. It's fair if they're too busy, but that should have been stated during the first phone call. Instead I wasted an entire week waiting for a response on a case where time is of the essence. The law group is handling my families trust. They said it would take 6 months and it's been almost 1 year. They do not return phone calls or emails. All of the staff has promised to finishing documents and procedure during a certain amount of time and have not done so. Last week, I felt harassed by rooky Peter Sahin's unsolicited rude unprofessional used cars salesman interruption while I was taking care of a court matter. Encroaching into my personal space, he peered over my shoulder to look at my document and turned crimson red when I addressed him. He later requested my presence outside the courtroom but belittled me by saying "We need the document and that it was his job to educate his client about the timeline and procedure for the request." He overpowered me and interrupted me upon reference to his "difficult to deal with client and telling me he has another court hearing." I declined providing my contact information but he insisted on my contact number which his vengeful and resentful stingy client has. A veteran attorney knows not rub someone the wrong way and knows a verbal notice will not suffice in court. Note probate court starts at 8:30 a.m. not 9 a.m. Make an advanced appointment next time and a review of probate codes and case law would not subject you to be an errand person but an expert. Don't bother people to tend to your important selfish matter. Probate/estate work does not require a law degree but requires patience, honesty, and attention to detail. This attorney and his stork client are two peas of a pod - full of hot air and lacking manners. It is disheartening to see that after a loved one dies what one will resort to get his/her hands on money, even resorting to stealing the decedent's items and stretching the truth. Everyone has a dysfunctional family and the decedent would roll in his grave to see the pettiness of his three greedy children committing financial elder abuse by blatantly disregarding his wishes. Those three only have their own best self interest at heart! Jealousy and sibling rivalry at its best! Respect the decedent and his wishes. God is watching. read more

Attorney Paul Velasco does not do his homework. He makes rash personal decisions about family situations and family members so much so that he involves himself in interacting personally with parties in an extremely unprofessional and verbally abusive manner. He goes way beyond his scope of practicing law and gets far too emotionally involved in personal family situations, causing harm to families.
