Velma's is a quaint place tucked away adjacent to the AmVets post. Slightly hidden from tourist but just right for the locals. For a true diner experience Velma's is a great place. The food is decent and perfectly cooked. Pancakes were probably the best around for my toddler ate every bite. Over medium eggs yes please and made accurately.

KUDOS to Danielle for providing supreme quality customer service! We ordered the all day lunch…read morespecials . It was delicious! The ambiance was nostalgic! I highly recommend all to come and visit to support this local business!

Posted by Kathy Padgett…read more My recent order had to be one of the worst meals I have ever ordered. New owners are to blame. I have been dining at The Catfish Place since Steve Johnson (now deceased) opened it in 1971. I knew Steve and he made sure you were served a delicious and plentiful meal. After Steve passed his family carried on with the same tradition. We moved from Saint Cloud, FL years ago, but every time I went home to Saint Cloud I made sure I ordered from The Catfish Place. When my husband and I lived in MS, I would order 2 meals for pick-up. I placed them in my cooler and toted them back to MS for my husband and I to reheat and enjoy. That's how good the food was. Fairly recently the family sold the restaurant. When I would go home I was warned by the locals not to order from The Catfish Place since the new owners took over...jacked up prices and horrible food. During my last trip I thought how bad could it be so I took a chance. I was hungry for fried scallops & oysters. I ordered for pick-up. If I tried I could not have made a worse meal. The scallops were itty-bitty things not much larger than my thumbnail! The oysters? Where were they? All I received were tiny bits covered by a huge amount of greasy crispy fried coating. The little bits of oysters didn't taste quite right so I trashed them as I became very nauseas. Believe me when I say I don't trash fried oysters! In a nutshell, I can understand raising prices in today's times, but you don't change the quality or the amount of food for which The Catfish Place was known to offer. Poor Steve, he would be so ashamed. As the adage goes: "If it ain't broke...don't fix it!"

We've been coming to Rodeo Diner since we…read moremoved to St. Cloud in 2013, back when this town still felt like the small farm community it once was. Rodeo was one of the first places we found, and it's been a favorite ever since. This newer location may be an expansion, but it still holds tight to the heart and soul of the original. From the moment you walk in, you know you're somewhere special. There's nothing flashy or overdone, just honest, old-fashioned country cooking served with a smile. The staff is genuinely friendly and courteous, and the atmosphere is refreshingly simple and unpretentious. It's the kind of place where regulars are greeted by name, and newcomers are welcomed like old friends. We always go for breakfast, no reservations needed. Just roll out of bed and roll through the door. The specials are great, the prices are fair, and the food is consistently satisfying. If you're looking for a recommendation, trust me: the Rodeo Breakfast Special will absolutely make your morning. But honestly, you can't go wrong with anything on the menu. In a world that's constantly changing, Rodeo Diner is one of the last true vestiges of what old St. Cloud used to be. It's a comforting reminder of simpler times, where good food and good people came together without all the fuss. We're lucky to have it.

We happen to stumble upon Jimmy Bears BBQ and are glad we had the opportunity to try it! We came on a Friday night around 6pm, expecting the restaurant to be packed but as we walked in we quickly realized we were the only patrons there. During our time there we never saw anyone else come in either. We ordered our food to-go, and it came out relatively quickly! We felt the price was on par with similar restaurants, and very fair for the amount of food you received The food itself was overall decent. There were some items that we really enjoyed, like the Mac and cheese, three blind mice sandwich, and the Alabama white sauce!! Other items like the green beans or pulled brisket left us wanting more. The green beans did not taste fresh, and the brisket lacked seasoning/flavor. There were also a lot of fried elements like the tater tots, onion rings or even the mozzarella sticks on the three blind mice sandwich, which we feel like were all decent and not too greasy, but also know those are easy things to make regardless of where you're at! The staff was very friendly at the restaurant! They were available if we had questions, and got our food out quickly to us. The ambiance of the restaurant was a little out of date and worn. You could definitely tell this establishment/building has been here for awhile with little to no updates over the years. A few updates to the space I think would really transform it and make it look like it belongs in 2023 not 1993. We do see ourselves coming back in the future, as we saw a few other menu items we are curious about trying!
