Needed to rent a bike for a 4 day bike ride along the coast of Michigan from Glen Arbor to Grand Haven. With Covid induced sell offs, had a hard time finding a rental, but finally found below city in Holland. Rented a Cannondale Topstone Gravel Bike for a week at a reasonable price. Service was awesome, esp the call the morning of pickup to confirm if I wanted road or off-road tires. Upon arrival, they installed my pedals, loaned me a helmet, and I was off, with a fully loaded repair kit under the seat. Brought my own phone holder and center bag to hold my battery, and I was set. After 4 glorious days along the coast, return was just as easy and painless. Would definitely recommend renting from here. read more

The store is in a wonderful location of Holland with its own parking with a beautiful neighborhood behind the shop to test drive bikes. The maintenance folks are all super experienced and courteous. I can't say enough great things about Paul who works at Velo City Cycles. I was in the area for a wedding, got a cut in my tire and tube, and stopped in there to see about buying a new tire and tube. Paul greeted us immediately, helped me pick out 2 new tires and a tube and even mounted them on my bike the same day. My wife and I went out for lunch while they were working on the bike and within an hour and a half Paul called us to say my bike was ready! I can't say enough great things about this place. They have incredible service with the most knowledgeable employees. I went there with some problems with my deurelgliers while in the middle of a ride and they threw it on the rack within minutes and took care of the issue. I don't think there would be enough space permitted on Yelp! to heap all my praises for Velo City and their wares. But I will single out and thank Nate & Brent; that they're both great people is one thing, but they also excel in top-notch quality work. My almost 20 year-old Trek rides as good as the first day I bought it. They estimated an absurdly low figure and promised it would ready for pick up on Memorial Day weekend, of all days. And, jeez, they came in at price and on time exactly. There's no better place I can recommend in the West MI Lakeshore region than these wonderful people. Thank you very, very much. This shop has an extremely friendly staff absent of attitude you get at other bike shops. It's a great place to get you introduced into biking of any kind. If you're a hard core cyclist they have you covered too. The shop does good work and will tell it to ya straight. They take time to measure and pair you with the right bike, not many other places do this. They have an awesome shop ride on Tuesday @ 6pm with something for everyone (see a theme here?). You are free to ask questions, and there isn't attitude, or pretension that can come with the sport. Love that they carry Gunnar Bikes! My all time favorite bike is my Gunnar street dog. I first visited this bike shop shortly after moving to Holland, Michigan in 2011 when it was located on 8th street...and the rest is history. Four bike purchases later I still love coming here for all my bike needs. The atmosphere is very welcome. The staff is very knowledgeable and always eager to help out with anything! They keep all of my bikes going! The turnaround time for repair is fast, and they always stop and take the time to explain what and why they repaired/adjusted.
