My first experience with Rock n Road was by fora coincidence! I was down the street at Riley Trails for a hike and noticed a handful of bikes outside and decided to wander in. To my surprise, they had a lot of bikes in stock! We were greeted by Ried who promptly helped answer questions about various mountain bikes and allowed us to test them out. Figuring out the right height, learning how to use the different gear shifts, the seat mechanism, etc. He even educated us on the different brake mechanisms that have changed over the years. My friend ended up purchasing the bike and was very happy with the experience! We even got 10% off accessories on the day of purchase. I wandered around the shop myself as I've been in search of a bike for a few years and haven't pulled the trigger but opted not to purchase that day. When I called back a few days later, Jack was extremely helpful. I explained the type of riding I'd hope to do, my level of experience and goals, and he shared a couple bike options they had in stock! Plus, I'm only 5'2 so bike size was going to be very important for me. They had a Small and Extra-Small bike available at two different price points, but he wanted to make sure I could test it before making the purchase. Given the market on bikes, he encouraged me to put down a 20% deposit to hold the bike if it would take me additional time to come in and test. All in all, a very smooth process! Once I came in to test, he showed me the gears, how to shift, fit me for the right height bike and adjusted the seat. The bike road beautifully! He even helped me get set up with a lock, helmet, water bottle holder and all the necessities. He even installed the kick stand and water bottle holder for me before showing me how to remove the front wheel of the bike and loading it into my car. The purchase even comes with a free tune up for the first year! The cost of the bike was fair and the experience was pleasant! The only reason I wouldn't necessarily give this 5 stars is because of the hours. The shop was open 10-5 on Saturday and then 10-6 on weekdays. That just caused a little issue for me to come in without adjusting my work schedule since I decided to make the drive from GR to Holland. I would love the shop to be open an hour or so later for a little more convenience for shoppers. However, still a great experience and I'm very happy with my purchase. Now I just can't wait to go and ride! read more

Great bikes, I'm short (5feet) so it's often hard to get a good fit, but had no problem here! Service was excellent. Knowledgeable about the areas to bike in town. I wish there was a half day price option but honestly the $20 is a fair deal if you'll be biking 2+ hours! read more

if they can't get a tube right don't expect them to work on your bike. we specifically asked for a 26in presta tubes and it took 30 minutes to get anyone to talk to us and they gave us the wrong tubes in the end. read more

Had my bike tuned here. Guy did a horrible job. Another guy who re-tuned my bike says the guy mis-aligned my front and rear rotors, so my brakes were rubbing. Also, they didn't install my rear brakes correctly, so my rear brakes were not working. They also told me how horrible my bike was, but another guy at another shop told me my bike is a sweet bike! When my bike was not working, they told me there's nothing they could do, bc my bike was horrible, so no refund! Horrible service, horrible experience. I do not recommend this place! read more

So, I called this shop for help (my closer choice had not answered the phone) and Tim answered; I asked for help with my front bearing cone when he asked me, "where did you buy your bike?" I told him online ( I usually do my own maintenance & can replace parts if needed). He then began to lecture me about buying online and that I should support my local bike shop and that the online sites are NOT professional bike mechanics! When I asked again about a cone for the bike hub he replied he would probably go out & salvage one off another hub... I really did NOT need to be lectured on the subject; I needed just a replacement! This store was NOT helpful at all. I decided to machine out the pits on the hub, buy new bearings and voila I'm back on the road! Poor customer relations read more

Poor service and under educated sales people. I brought my fat bike in to be set up tubeless and they could not get it right. I bought a new tire ($120), and paid them 30 bucks a wheel to get it set up tubeless and they couldn't get it to hold air pressure. So after $180 they couldn't get it right and refuse to refund my money or make it work right. Save your money and don't go there, go anywhere but there if you want to get good service work. read more
