What an amazing shop with such incredible people. My friends and I rented fat bikes from Cross Country Cycles are were blown away by how helpful the staff here are. Laura made sure we all had great saddles and that our bikes were set up just right! Fast forward to several months later, I found myself with a mechanical issues while at Barry Roubaix and basically panic called Laura who helped me solve the issue and she made me feel very confident that my race wouldn't be ruined. These guys are awesome! We are from Chicago, and stopped in here on Saturday morning to rent bikes. Dave spent a good amount of time with us and making sure we had bikes that fit and met our needs. We were planning to rent aluminum bikes since they are less expensive, but a carbon bike fit me better, so they gave it to us for the aluminum price, which was really great of them to do. Dave was clearly super knowledgable, and very nice. The bikes were awesome, and super reasonably priced. They had maps at the store and great recs as to where we should spend the day. We were late getting back to the store, and they were so nice and stayed opened just for us so we could return the bikes. We will be coming back here again!! read more

If you own or want to own a Specialized Bicycle, this is a great place to go, especially if you want or need someone to service and maintain your bike. These people know their stuff when it comes to servicing these bicycles. I had a difficult issue with my Mountain Bike and they were the ones to properly diagnosed and solved the root cause of the recurring problem on my drivetrain. I only wish I had purchased my Specialized Mountain Bike here in the first place, they likely could have saved me both time and money as well as prevented me some stressful times... After all, I Mountain Bike to relieve stress! When my wife wanted a Fat Tire Bike they were able to find a great bike for my her also, and they perfectly fit the bike to her while we were there. read more

We were visiting from out of town, staying in Grand Rapids, and called on July 3rd to rent some basic bikes for the 4th. Laura was wonderful on the phone and let us know we could pick up bikes on the 3rd since they were closed on the 4th. The family was so welcoming, professional and quick. We were in and out in 10 minutes. When it was time to return the bikes on the 4th, Laura gave us permission to lock up the bikes in the bike rack in front of the store. We sent them a text to confirm we had done so. The whole process was wonderful, and I highly recommend renting from them. If we lived in the area, I would definitely be back to buy a bike or have a bike repair. Wonderful people! read more

Just the best! Rented a tandem bike with my girlfriend. Dana was amazing on the phone to help accommodate what we were looking for. Got there and worked with Laura who is the owner and she was very helpful. Went on the 13 mile loop that went to Tunnel Park and couldn't make it past the halfway mark. 87°, two old broad 's. Not really, but we're in our 50s. Anyways, Laura's daughter Victory came to pick us up in the pick up truck and saved us! Couldn't of been nicer. BTW do you need to follow Victory on her Instagram. She's a mermaid/fencer/equestrian/pirate/leatherworker/All-around awesome and unique person. @Mermaidvalnora. The store has an amazing selection of bike accessories and an area to try out different bikes and ride them around indoors. My husband and I needed a part for our pull behind bike trailer. We were told to go to cross country cycle because they were a dealer for this company. My husband went in to inquire about the part and order an infant sling. They sent him home with one for a burley (not the bike trailer we have) telling him it would work-it didn't. They also said they would be ordering the other part for us. He called a couple weeks later to check on the status of the part-they had made no progress. A couple more weeks go by and I go in to return the burley infant sling and check on the part status. Still no progress! That was a month ago now. I called a couple days ago and they still had made no progress to get the part for us. I'm giving up and ordering it directly through the company. I gave them two stars because they did have an extra hitch for the bike trailer in the store that I did buy. read more

I enjoy shops that have the "let's see if we can look at this first" before slapping you into a long queue. When you spend a lot on your bikes, very nice to have this service to keep going. I was interested in doing a 150-mile bike trip that started in Holland. Bringing my own bike from California was going to be expensive, so I called these folks to see if they could help. It turned out they were fantastic. Not only did they rent me just the bike I needed for a reasonable price ($15/day), but they added a rack and toe clips for free, and gave me a free day's rental to boot. I rode the bike half-way across Michigan without a problem, and they even let me drop it off after hours. Highly recommended! I'm already planning my next trip, and I'll definitely use Cross Country Cycle again. read more

This place is top notch. Personally this is the best bike store I have ever visited anywhere in the country. We came to Holland on vacation and were in the market for a bike trailer. We went to another store first and we were disappointed by their limited selection and the unhelpfulness of the staff, so Cross Country Cycle was a breath of fresh air. Cross Country Cycle had an absolutely huge selection of bike trailers and very knowledgeable staff who appear to be genuinely concerned about the quality of the products and services that they offer to the public. They also had loads and loads of bikes, even though we weren't looking for a bike this time. When I was checking out I overheard one of the service techs telling a woman that she didn't actually need the deluxe level tune-up for her bike and that the standard tune-up would be fine because her wheels looked pretty true already. He saved her $20. Since when do service techs give their honest opinions instead of upselling unneeded services? The people at Cross Country Cycle have integrity and quality products and we will continue to support them every time we return to this area. read more

Have had several experiences with Cross Country Cycle and keep returning for obvious reasons...the staff, their knowledge, their passion for cycling, their concern for the customer and an awesome product selection. Most recently I was having trouble with the braking system on my MTB. The staff interfaced with the bike manufacturer as well as the brake parts manufacturers and fully resolved my issues...and in such a timely fashion that the bike was ready before my next scheduled ride.
