Velocity Towing came through when I was stuck without a key and needed a flatbed tow from Canyon Country to Van Nuys. The driver arrived promptly, got to work immediately, and handled everything with calm competence. I was honestly worried he might be annoyed about the long haul, but he couldn't have been more professional -- and we ended up having a terrific conversation during the process. He shared stories about the realities of towing, and it gave me a real appreciation for what these guys deal with on a daily basis. Called AAA at 3:51am and requested a tow and Velocity was picked as my pick up carrier, waited 2:30 hours for them to cancel my pick up and not answer my calls. called these guys around midnight, hoping the 24hrs would be true. Guy who answers sounds annoyed I even called and tells me no drivers available for like 4hours. Well it's midnight, no tire shop open til morning, I figured four hours works. 4 comes along, call guy back, "oh another hour", five comes along, "we only have one guy and he doesn't get in until 6". Well thanks for letting me know so I could wait for literally 6hours in the middle of the night. You could have said that initially so I could keep trying other tow services. I use AAA and was first sent out Castic towing. I had called at 10:30 in the morning and by 4 o'clock still not gotten any help. I requested another tow company come and that's when they sent out Velocity towing. They got to my residence within 40 minutes, took my truck where it needed to be and followed instructions. They were dispatched by AAA. After waiting over an hour, we called for a stats since the app said they were in route. The guy who answered said he'd call us back with an ETA, but said the driver was in route. He never called back. We called back again and he said they had to switch out trucks, and tried to make it seem like we needed a larger cab...not sure what he was trying to communicate. Again, another 45 min wait. We were back and forth with AAA simultaneously. At the end of the 2 1/2 hour wait, this company cancelled the request, leaving us in the rural, having yo start over with another tow truck company. Victor called me after Aaa set it up and told me about an hour and Victor had his driver to me in less than 5 minutes. It was late and dark in unpopulated area and he made sure I was safe and taken care of quickly. Your driver went above and beyond professional approachable trustworthy and reassuring. They loaded the car and towed it, but when we arrived to the drop off destination, they tried to say that this was an unauthorized tow and that I would have to pay them cash out of pocket and that AAA would not cover this this tow! This was a complete lie! They were trying to scam me because they can charge me more money per mile than what AAA would pay them. I was visiting my family member at Santa Clarita Post Acute Care in Newhall. While I was visiting, I was told to go to the parking lot. The tow truck driver of Velocity Towing informed me that AAA had been following my car, and it was being repossessed (I have the title). That they were exclusively contracted with Santa Clarita Post Acute Care ( False, SCPAC confirmed they are not contracted by them, and that is not how they operate). The care center would find the owner of the car first and ask them to move their vehicle, not have it towed. When SCPAC helped track down my vehicle, they told me they were charging $225.00 per hour till I picked up my vehicle! This was ridiculous abd frankly vile! They are also contracted with AAA. Date of Incident: 12/30/24 On the evening of December 30, 2024, my truck got a flat tire on the side of a freeway off-ramp off Pearblossom Highway at 7 PM. It was cold, dark, and an extremely stressful situation. I called AAA and explained that I needed a tow truck because I needed my truck to get to Los Angeles. I also informed them that I had a spare tire, but it wasn't inflated, and I wasn't sure if it would work because it might have a small hole. I made it clear to the dispatcher that if the spare worked after being filled, I would only need a tire change. However, if it didn't work, I would need to be towed to Los Angeles. The dispatcher assured me this was no problem and forwarded my request to Velocity Tow. About 20 minutes later, the dispatcher from Velocity Tow called me to confirm my location. They mentioned that they covered areas from Santa Clarita to Acton and that my location was right at the edge of their service area. I reiterated the situation regarding my spare tire and the possibility of needing a tow to Los Angeles, and they again said it wouldn't be an issue. I was told the tow truck would arrive in 40 minutes. The Long Wait and Terrible Service After waiting for 1 hour and 30 minutes, the tow truck finally arrived. The driver, Oscar, turned out to be the rudest and most unprofessional tow truck driver I have ever encountered. Oscar, who appeared to be around 50 years old, didn't even bother to introduce himself. Instead, his first words to me, dripping with sarcasm, were, "Oh, I guess you want to do my job," referring to the fact that I had already removed most of the lug nuts except for one that was slightly stripped. I explained that I couldn't remove the last lug nut because it was stripped, to which he laughed and said, "That's what you get for not letting me do it." His dismissive attitude left me stunned. He half-heartedly attempted to remove the lug nut once and declared it impossible because it was stripped. I then told him that if the tire couldn't be changed, I would need to be towed to Los Angeles. Oscar laughed in my face again, shook his head as if I was crazy, and said, "I'm not driving you to Los Angeles. I'm already off." I was completely shocked. I reminded him that my AAA account allowed for up to 300 miles of towing, and I only needed to go 45 miles. He flat-out refused, saying, "I'm not going, and that's that." Oscar then told me my only options were to either be towed to a park-and-ride lot down the street or two miles south to another towing company's service area (C&D Towing). When I expressed concern that the next company might also refuse to tow me to Los Angeles, he claimed he used to work for them and "just knows" they wouldn't. Unacceptable Behavior I was desperate because my pregnant wife was waiting in the freezing cold inside the truck, and my phone only had 1% battery left. Her phone was completely dead. Realizing we couldn't get to Los Angeles that night, I considered having my truck towed back home to the Antelope Valley. Oscar reluctantly agreed to tow us back home but said that was the only option. I asked him to give me a moment to explain the situation to my wife. While I was speaking to her inside the truck, Oscar suddenly sped off in his tow truck without saying a word. I was in complete disbelief. I tried calling and texting him multiple times, but he ignored me as he drove away, leaving us stranded. Resolution Without AAA With my last 1% of battery, I quickly called a different tow company. Their driver arrived promptly, changed my tire after a few attempts, and directed me to a nearby tire shop that was still open and able to patch my tire. Final Thoughts I am disgusted by Oscar's behavior and appalled that someone like him is associated with AAA. To abandon a stranded customer with a pregnant wife in the cold, knowing the dire circumstances, is beyond unprofessional--it's inhumane. I will never use AAA's services again. If Oscar hates his job so much, he should find a new one instead of taking out his frustration on vulnerable customers. AAA and Velocity Tow will undoubtedly lose more business because of employees like him. They have already lost mine. read more

I have AAA and I've had the premium service for 37 years. I had an accident on Sunday, April 13, 2025 and velocity was called to come tow my truck to my house. They came out with their flatbed truck and said to me, this will be $100. I said I have AAA and I don't get charged anything. I talk to his manager and the manager said yes it's for labor. I said what labor and he said it's for labor in pulling up your truck onto the flatbed. I called AAA and they said they know of no such charge and they actually talked to the manager at the tow trucking company and I guess they couldn't come to agreement that there was no charge And the tow truck left me stranded in a parking lot and it was getting dark outside. Velocity towing is a very unprofessional tow truck service and I would recommend nobody use them. I will be making a complaint to AAA as I didn't get a tow truck to me until 11 o'clock that night. It wasn't AAA's fault as they worked hard to find me a truck to tow my truck home. Rude! The driver was likely a scammer! I would never use this company again. After the driver left, I realized that this could have been one of our young adult children dealing with this hostile and rude driver. That it could have been they needed to ride in the cab with him. His demeanor from the beginning was hostile and unprofessional and as and adult, I would not have gotten in the cab with him. Imagining one of our daughters having to deal with this situation while being vulnerable in a breakdown situation makes me even angrier and why I took the time to write this review. I called AAA to have a vehicle towed from our home to our mechanic's. Velocity quickly contacted me and the dispatch operator was very polite and thorough. However, the driver was rude and hostile. After lying to me, I told him to leave my property and he responded by calling me a racist. When he first arrived, before I opened the gate to our property, he asked if I could lock up our dog. I said, "No, he is a guard dog (he guards our livestock) but he isn't going to hurt anyone as long as no one hurts me." He agreed and drove into our property. He asked me several questions about the vehicle's condition and where we were having it towed. I offered him my ID and AAA card and he abruptly said all he needed was payment. "You know you have to pay, right?! $130" I responded that I was aware of the payment and would be using a credit card. He entered the vehicle and attempted to start it. I told him the battery was dead. He quickly responded that he was not likely going to be able to load the car on the tow truck if it wouldn't start. I pointed out that if the car would start, we wouldn't have needed a tow. He then said he needed to be paid before he could load it but he didn't know if he could get cell reception here to process a card. We discussed who his cell carrier is and he seemed confused. I said if it doesn't work, I have cash. He said, "I prefer cash." At this point, he's been abrupt and unprofessional with me and I don't feel comfortable with him. I already wanted him to leave and I was certainly not going to hand over cash to him. I went into the house and came back with my card about 1 minute later. I said to him that I needed him to confirm that he could load the car before I paid him. He immediately got hostile and accused me of trying to cheat him. I pointed out that it was he who said he might not be able to complete the job. He then denied ever saying that. I told him that I must have misunderstood and in that case, I'd like him to explain to me again what it is that he did say. He then told me that the only thing he had said to me since arriving was to ask where he is taking the car. Knowing this was a complete lie, I immediately told him he's lying and directed him to leave because I don't do business with liars. He then called me a racist. My husband escorted him off of our property and the driver then addresses my husband in a completely different tone trying to save face and not have to leave, saying, "I don't know why she is so mad." I spoke with the Velocity dispatch operator and told him what had happened. He assured me that this was unacceptable and that he would send me a new driver. At first, I wanted a new company but then I realized I'd have to wait even longer so I agreed. After an hour and a half of no word, I called Velocity back and was told AAA said they couldn't complete the job and would assign me a new company. When AAA called me, I was told the Velocity driver reported that I refused to put my dog away making him feel unsafe and this is why he couldn't complete the tow. My dog was nowhere near us, he was his goats keeping guard on the other side of our property. AAA also told me that Velocity was who was now refusing to service me. I was happy to give Velocity another chance but clearly, they do not have any kind of standards of service or desire to make things right when their drivers are clearly in the wrong. Reading these other reviews, it is obvious that this company is not trustworthy and AAA should remove them from their list of certified tow companies. read more

Absolutely traumatic experience. I am in-furious by the service, the waste of time, the inconsideration, and the lack of empathy shown by your employees. This is unacceptable. I have been a customer for over 15 years, and never ever have I experienced this type of service. This morning I called Triple A around 10:30am to get a tow to my auto shop. The driver's ETA was given to me as 11:30am. Not only did my tow truck driver not arrive until almost 1pm, but the phone receptionist gave me a 30 minute window of delay TWO separate times, taking an 1 hour 30 minute for the driver to actually get me after the initial call. And even worse, my driver had an additional vehicle already with him that he needed to drop off 20 min from my destination on the way to take me to my shop. After being picked up and driving down maybe 10 minutes max, my driver gets out of the truck unannounced with no notification of where he is going, and leaves the office in a separate truck alongside the receptionist in two separate cars total. I am stranded there in the tow truck alone for 30 more minutes, by myself, no word of what is going on whatsoever, and no air conditioning at that. Afterwards, another driver arrived and took over the truck, already overheated and offended, I tell him what happened and he is completely clueless? With two vehicles to drop off, my patience running thin, and 3 hours of loading and unloading vehicles, heavy freeway traffic, and no apology from any persona involved, we finally arrived at my auto shop at 4pm. 6 HOURS. Almost 6 whole hours from when we called Triple A just to get my vehicle towed a 20 mile drive. I felt extremely disrespected, and taken advantage of during this experience. And would have appreciated more empathy from both Triple A, and Velocity Towing. read more
