We sat at a high top in front of the bar and were greeted immediately. I had the espresso martini and it was sweet and frothy and garnished with shredded chocolate bits. It was the perfect dessert drink. Trevor answered some questions we had about the island and was prompt and pleasant through checkout. Wished we could've gotten over there a few more times during our trip.

Stepping into this dimly lit tiki bar is like entering a hidden world. Lavish details, from the…read morebrass lion heads on the doors, to the glow of a copper diving helmet, to the puffer-fish lamps and gilded menu, create a cozy atmosphere reminiscent of a shipwreck. Once your eyes have adjusted, you can start reading the truly extensive cocktail menu. There are both classic tiki and newer creations available, and during happy hour, some of the simpler drinks (like Mai Tais) are discounted. If you are new to tiki, you might get frustrated with some of the service times, but each drink can be so complex, they take a little longer than your average rail to make (but it's worth it for the layered flavors). Breaker's Roar is my favorite bar in Christiansted, and it is great either as a first drink of the night spot, or as a final hurrah. I have never had a bad drink from them, and I don't even have a favorite, everything I have tried is so delicious. Each drink also comes in a carefully selected vessel, and that id definitely part of the equation in placing an order. The last time we went, there was also a small bites menu that was a pleasant surprise. We liked the two plates we tried, but already had dinner reservations. Next time we go back, we plan to eat a full meal. This place is a must if you are on the boardwalk!

The food here is absolutely delicious. We ordered chicken wings and tacos--though they're technically starters, the portions were generous enough to make a satisfying lunch. What's more, the prices are very reasonable, making this one of the best value finds of our entire trip.

Immediately upon entering the restaurant, Tito who is the one who runs the crab races met us and wanted to know if we were there for the races. He explained the concept of the race. Each hermit crab is picked by a patron who pays $3. The crab is named by the patron and Tito writes the name on a piece of masking tape on the crab's shell. The crabs are placed in a bucket. At the start of the race, the bucket is flipped upside down in the center of several concentric circles of chalk marked on the floor. The goal is for a patron's crab to be the first one to cross the line of the yellow circle. There are an assortment of prizes such as excursions or coupons for local establishments to be won.The event lasted about 45 minutes and was fun. We had their Cruzan Confusion cocktail and barbecue chicken wings. The cocktail was refreshing. The chicken wings were average. They were not fried crispy and the flavor came entirely from the barbecue sauce.
