If you haven't eaten here, you need to. The tacos are filled and I mean filled with taste bud invigorating goodness. I had the gluten free rotisserie chicken taco and chips and queso. YES, it's very exciting news that their chips are gluten free and made in a GF fryer. Then you add in GF queso KABOOM! Mind blown. I explained my food allergies to the very kind person taking my order, she put in 'allergy' and Just like that, no reaction. The customer service was amazing! The first time I went I had no idea what to get and the employees took the time to explain and suggest some great options. I tried 4 of their tacos and they were so so flavorful I was honestly surprised as I expected just another generic taco place. I can't even describe their red velvet cake other than being a little slice of heaven. I haven't eaten red velvet cake in years as I never liked it due to it being too dry and tasting off but when I tried theirs it absolutely melted in my mouth. I felt like there was a huge variety that they try to make distinct flavors, but sometimes simplicity is bliss. This just missed the mark for me unfortunately. First off I love the name...Velvet Taco... it's comforting and lovely just like the food! Javi our server was exceptionally excellent! He showed us the menu and walked us through explaining what the more popular dishes were and answered any questions that we had. He patiently took our order with two adults and four indecisive children. They do have a children's menu and the kiddos each tried steak quesadilla, chicken, quesadilla and cheese quesadilla. We also had two orders of guacamole and chips. The guacamole was out of this world! The adults ordered the following tacos: Kobe smash burger, Mexi Cali Shrimp, Spicy Tikka Chicken, Rotisserie Chicken based on Javi's recommendation. And boy, are we so happy that we listened to him! Every taco was delicious. Let me just say that these tacos are stuffed! You won't leave here hungry with chips and a taco while some adults might order two to be full. On St Patrick's Day, my husband went to get his free hat for the first 25 guests. They said they had given them all out the weekend before. The person waiting on him was wearing one. They said oh no we don't have any more of those. If we'd known we would have went over the weekend to get one. I contacted the company and they were supposed to send us one. It is now May and we have not received it. The service here is not that great. I have had someone take my order and I've given her my phone number for the rewards and then not ever received the reward points. There are plenty of Mexican food places in town besides this one.
