    Review #103 (Arbor Café)…read more Location: The Arbor Café is located in the First Americans Museum (FAM) on the 1st floor in the north east side, by the FAM 39 Restaurant. Hours: Open during FAM hours during grand opening weekend Sat, 18 Sep, and Sun, 19 Sep, 8am-5pm; Mon, 20 Sep, 10am-5pm. The manager told me last night hours may vary based on need and availability. Then open during normal hours starting on Wed, 22 Sep, about 10am-5pm Thursdays and Fridays, then on Saturdays and Sundays 11am-5pm. Closed on Tuesdays like the FAM. Drinks: They offer various coffee drinks, from coffee sourced by local Native Americans. One source they use is O-Gah-Pah brand coffee. They offer non-caffeine drinks too like juices, water, etc.. Food: They offer various snacks and food sourced and made from local Native American cultures and chefs, that are made in the 39 Restaurant; but offer a quicker service choice than the formal restaurant. Seating: there are a few tables and chairs in the café area to sit at or you can take your food outside to walk around the grounds. Decor/Design: They have the "Arbor" sign in tan lettering with the "o" in circular tree branches/limbs. The chairs are orange with the tree branches/limbs design and cut-out with spaces, as it is called "Arbor." The tables have beige, tan, and brown wood. {Posted on Sun, 19 Sep 2021}

The problem was that it took twenty minutes and ordering it three different times to actually get it. This was OKC marathon weekend, and seemed to be approaching college final exams. So the shop was pretty busy with only two working the counter. In fact, it was hard to even find somewhere to sit. Luckily it was just me, so I squeezed in at the corner of a sofa and did some people watching. The shop was cute, quaint, a little bit of a quirky vibe. I could definitely see the appeal for all the college kids doing work on their laptops there. Buuuut. I originally ordered a drink. Something iced, a flavor recommended by the girl who took my order. Sat down and waited. And waited. Lots of drinks were getting churned out, but finally I realized the people who ordered after me were already leaving with their orders. So I went back to the counter to ask. I was told Oh, we'll get it right out. I'm guessing they thought I was still in the queue of drinks to be made. Because I waited some more. Finally asked again with a different barista, and she apologized and admitted they either lost my drink order or gave it to someone else. So she made one fresh and reimbursed me for the cost of the drink. In the end, I have no issues with how they handled it. They were fair and polite. And luckily I wasn't suuuper pressed for time. Still just unfortunate that I waited so long for a cup of coffee that I can barely remember now - but hey, at least it was free.

I only get to come when visiting family in the area but that shaken orange white mocha gets me every time! We ventured and tried some seasonal items as well. The pineapple upside down latte was a complex taste but it tied together really well! So happy to see how full the space was this morning. The staff is always so friendly. I look forward to more visits in the future!

We had the Mushroom Reuben, the BLT, the open faced shrimp sandwich and the Avocado Linguini. Our appetizers were the salmon potato cakes and the milk bread with whipped ricotta and peach jam (if I remember correctly). The Salmon cakes were really dense with fish and tasted a bit like crab cakes but obviously made of Salmon. It came with a corn cream sauce. Good dish but I think the Japanese Milk Bread & Ricotta was the star. SO GOOD! It was all lightly sweet but the jam with ricotta and the added nuts + fruits - a top notch appetizer for sure. The Mushroom Reuben was good but I'm a meat lover so I did miss the meat but it was still hearty with tons of mushroom with the tanginess of the sauerkraut. Good vegan choice if that's what you prefer. My wife liked it cuz it was different. I enjoyed the BLT. Nice thick bread with all the fixings. Both dishes came with brocolli salad. The brocolli salad was good. It does have nuts in it though so don't let that catch you by surprise. The shrimp sandwich looked good and our friend ate it all so I'm going to give it a thumbs up. All the sandwiches came with some really flavorful bread and butter pickles! The linguine was a bit of a let down. It called for asparagus or something but they ran out of the veggie so our friend basically just paid for pasta and edamame. I personally don't think it was worth it and it was lacking in salt. Overall, this place was good. Portions are good (not huge but enough). Service was quick and friendly. They have a lot of vegan options so if you are vegan, this place is a gem.
