Three years seems like a very long time but every time I grew impatient, I'd remind myself that I'd been waiting most of my life to get surgery so what's a few months. Still, it's a scary era to have patience in, what with all that's going on. It was very comforting to know I could rely on Melanie's calm reassurance and supportive presence. It is not that common to see health care workers who have a great "bedside manner"! Melanie regularly kept me updated on progress and when I could start reducing the frequency of sessions. I stuck it the whole way through and the day after my surgery, my surgeon told me the electrolysis results were 10/10 perfect! Such a relief that I won't have hair growing where it would be a nightmare to have and impossible to remove! Having gone to Hearten for two entire years, I cannot recommend them enough. Other places may have a shorter waitlist, may promise faster results (liesssss), or may be cheaper. But these folks are 200% value for money.

They are tailoring the experience to your needs. As a client for the last year, I've already seen significant progress early on in my treatment process. Being a trans woman, it can be difficult to find environments/providers that not only provide equal service, but also equal comfort to all clients. Being trans owned and operated, I know both anecdotally and intentionally that this is the case for all clients. Even though I'm going for an hour or two of an extremely painful medical procedure, I always leave the office feeling better than when I came in. As soon as I signed on for treatment, I was provided best practices and tools for my sessions that have proven to be integral to both extending/bolstering my pain tolerance, as well as my self confidence. On a number of occasions I have spent over 2 hours getting electrolysis on my face... and the technician has left so much hair under my chin... I have also felt ripped off on time as the same technician will start wrapping up 30 -20 minutes before the 2 hour mark and I've had to call it out. When I have requested appointments with another technician I have been told to wait until I come for the in-person session risking the scheduled time being taken by someone else. I tried to build a "friendly" relationship with the staff, however, we all know they wouldn't see me if I was short on cash... So, don't be short on my session time. I'm appalled by the crap I've had to go through with this company.

She responded within a day after I found her contact information on Yelp, and texted to figure out the details. Anat's office is really clean, air conditioned, and vibrantly decorated. And smells like essential oils. She has a lot of work experience as a lash technician and I love chatting with her. Two days after my first visit, I found out that I have a tendency to violently rub my eyes in my sleep. I woke up with most of the lashes fallen off of one eye. I texted Anat and went back in less than a day later to get it fixed right up. She explained that sometimes there can be trial and error in the beginning - so she used a stronger glue, I got a sleeping eye mask, and they lasted until my fill 3/4 weeks later!

I went to Sofia for 5 electrolysis appointments, either 15 or 30 mins. I am now going to a…read moredifferent esthetician for electrolysis and I'm finding this to be a better option that continuing to go to Sofia. I find the electrolysis technique that Sofia uses to be extremely invasive and abrasive to my facial skin to the point that my chin would be sore for 2-3 days after my appointment with inflammation and breakouts. I also found Sofia's bedside manner to be bleak and not welcoming at all. I didn't find her very empathetic to the fact that electrolysis on the face, is extremely painful. Her salon is very charming and clean so that's definitely an upside I wouldn't fault her for. I do believe that going to Sofia helped my skin and hair growth but I still wouldn't return, despite how close I live to her salon. I'm happy that now after an electrolysis session I can go about my day without being in overt pain for the next coming days and wanting to hideout in my apartment until my skin calmed down.
