Let me tell you she did not disappoint. My hair and make up was flawless for both, and considered I got married in the dead of summer in *Texas*, that is saying a lot. Sweating outside for photos did not budge my hair or makeup in the slightest. I have coarse, frizzy, curly hair and was nervous to have my hair done but it was beautifully smooth the entire time for both. I had no idea my hair could look like that! I felt like a model. I also have very oily skin so to finish the day still matte and soft is a miracle. For my make up look, while I do love make up and getting done up, I wanted something that leaned more toward natural (as much as bridal makeup can look natural lol), and she delivered. My skin looked even and glowing and my eyes popped, but it was all done in a way that was natural and still looked like me. I thought it would take forever to take off because how else could my skin look that could without a thick layer of foundation? But no, it was not caked on at all. The airbrush was applied beautifully light and even and really looked like it was my skin. Lastly, Katie was very sweet and helpful throughout the whole process, flexible when bridals had to be rescheduled due to me getting sick, and just overall so easy to work with. She was also very punctual. I was nervous about getting ready on time for my early afternoon wedding, and she was knocking on the hotel door before I had even fully woken up! I am so glad I worked with Aqua Blue and will definitely be looking for excuses to get a formal updo again so I can have her do my hair again.

No big deal I'll catch up on reading. I had my consultation and she went to work. She gave me a perm and cut. It turned out ok. Not the best I've had but she still did a good job. I told her my goal was to eventually lighten my hair and when should I come back. She told me to book for 2 weeks. I returned and she had bleach put in my hair that she permed 2 weeks prior. Not color but bleach! I didn't know what it was when it was initially being applied by her assistant. I should have walked out when the assistant asked 2x if that was what she wanted to put in my hair without saying what it was. My hair now has thinning and has not grown back healthy as it once was. I spent almost $500 in 2 weeks only to have missing patches of hair that turned to straw. After my service her instructions were to make sure I get my protein treatments. Long story short ALL of my hair started to fall out within a week. By week two I had significant loss. I messaged her and instead of taking responsibility she proceeded by protecting herself by saying "I told you this probably wasn't a good idea." THAT WAS A FLAT OUT LIE! She is the professional why would I tell her what to do after being told it would damage my hair. She told me to book 2 weeks out. Better question is, why would she do it if she knew it wasn't a good idea?! Plain and simple GREED! Yes, I made sure to get a protein treatment but was told my hair was dead and needed to be cut all off. The only reason she was not sued is because of my barber Noah who said I should pray for her and chalk it up to a bad experience. His thought was not to destroy her business or reputation. I tried to let it go. I am all for supporting black businesses but SOME black business owners need to do better. The greed, the attitudes, and the over inflated prices need to be addressed. She has all COVID precautions in place and I feel safe when I go to see her. This is the only salon I have been to where the stylist is not working on four + heads at a time and you have to wait all day. Excellent service and reasonable prices!
