They wash your hair so well, and use excellent products. Shakira has been styling my hair recently and she's excellent, but honestly they are all good. Kaelin was wonderful as well, and I unfortunately can't remember the others who have done my hair, but no one missed the mark, especially with my thick curly/frizzy hair. As someone new to the salon, that kind of energy really matters it sets the tone for the entire visit. That said, the stylist who did my hair was truly lovely warm, professional, and talented. She made the experience better, and I'm grateful for that. But the receptionist left such a negative first impression that I honestly don't see myself coming back. If you're trying to grow a loyal client base, the first point of contact should reflect the hospitality and quality of the service inside. Long story short, DryBar says on their mission statement that they provide to "people of all hair types". The many times I've been, for some odd reason, when it comes to styling and working with thick, kinky curly, natural hair, the majority of stylists are timid. Like they're scared to really perform. Almost like they don't have the training to work with this type of hair. Which is unacceptable when I'm paying to have a relaxing experience. I loved how Angel finished my hair, it was beautiful, but she took 2 1/2 hours. That's crazy. Then I go to check out and find out about their policy that if the STYLIST takes longer than an hour and a half or so, the CUSTOMER is charged an additional $30. Make it make sense. Why punish the customer, for the speed and lack of experience from the STYLIST?! That's crazy. At the end of the day, to be inclusive of all hair types, the stylists should be trained professionally on how to work confidently with all hair types.

They had an online "test" that you can take and they'll send you a list of stylist that matches your answers and personality type. Out of the 3 I got matched with I chose Jessica Maez. Jessica was very professional and very personable. She made me feel comfortable and at ease. And the best part was that she was really fast and my hair turned out great. I absolutely loved my experience, so much so that I decided to make my next appt before leaving the salon.

The MIDDLE pre-calculated gratuity was 28%. Does it say that it's 28%? No. Usually the pre-calculated amounts are 15% on the left, 18% in the middle, and 20% on the right or something similar. I would even accept 18% / 20% / 22%, but 28% as the middle?! That's crazy.
