Located along Milligan Highway, it's about two miles from the University Parkway exit on I-26. It is a white building with a red roof so pretty easy to see. Parking is plentiful in a large paved lot. Several spaces are adjacent to the building, along with handicapped spaces. Other parking is along the side of the building as well as across a traffic lane. We planned to order take out but were unable to find a full menu posted online so had stopped by earlier and picked up a paper copy. The menu seems to be a work in progress with a lot of hand-written information, including a lot of additions to the offerings. It also includes a little of everything, from cheeseburgers to bacon cheese fries in addition to the expected Italian offerings. We decided on the garlic knots with cheese, the Venice pizza, and the chicken parmesan. We were told it would be ready for pick up in 25 minutes. I walked in about 20 minutes later. The entrance opens into a small seating area with a counter in front, and then the restaurant proper. The seating is a mix of tables and booths and separated into two sections by a low wall. I was greeted as soon as I walked in. The hostess went to check on my order and said it would be another five minutes (which is what was expected). I paid while waiting and then received my order when promised. The Venice pizza was topped with a nice mixture of sausage, hamburger, ham, onion, green peppers, banana peppers, and mushrooms. There were a lot of toppings and the entire surface was covered. My dining partner wished for a bit more pizza sauce and I thought the overall flavors were a bit muted. Still, it was cooked perfectly and certainly had a full quantity of toppings. The chicken parmesan was well packaged and stayed hot during the drive home. The dish was completely covered with cheese and had a good amount of chicken. The pasta was spaghetti. The flavor was good and also came with a small loaf of garlic bread. The garlic knots were the best of the items ordered. They were cooked perfectly, garlicky, and cheesy without being greasy or dry. The marinara dipping sauce was nothing special but worked fine with the knots. With the wide range of offerings, it would be hard not to find something you wanted to eat on the menu. Based on our first trip, everything is well prepared and offers good quantity for the price. We look forward to additional visits as they refine their menu.

Oh my god! It is delicious! Homemade pizza even sauce. I order eggplant sub. It is crispy and can tell they make it from scratch. Come in and try. You will not regret it

Kraft singles on a cheese pizza

Either remove the four cheese pizza from the menu or add the four cheeses to the "four cheese pizza". Kraft American is not one of the cheeses listed on the menu. You took the standard cheese pizza and slapped some sliced cheese on there and charged me $6 extra for that. If it weren't for this travesty I would've rated this four star pizza.

First time coming here. Very good pizza, not too greasy, generous toppings, very good value for the price.

Great Calzone, portion was more than generous for the small and reasonably priced. My hubs had the spicy pasta and enjoyed it.

First time visiting this location and it will not be our last…read more 2 of us walked in with no reservation and asked the hostess (Daisy I think) if we could get a table for 8 and that we were waiting for the other 6 to show up. She said it wouldn't be a problem and put our name on the waitlist. We headed in to sit at the bar and we were promptly greeted by 2 bartenders. As we waited for the others to arrive, we both got a drink. Within 10 minutes the others showed up and our table was ready. Cam, who was one of the bartenders, waited on us. She was phenomenal. Great service from beginning to end. Daisy set up a spot for us and everything was excellent. The restaurant and bar area were both clean and comfortable and all of us enjoyed our meals and drinks. Can't wait to come back and order the Chicken Scallopini again. It was delicious!!!!!

Due to the owners not updating their hours, my friend and I went to dinner a bit before 9. (Their website and all map apps say they are open till 11 - apparently they now close at 10:30 and their kitchen 40 minutes before that). While the service we received was great, the food was frankly disgusting. I had a chicken Marsala which is usually two chicken breasts covered in Marsala sauce and mushrooms on a large bed of spaghetti. Instead I got what maybe was a single breast on a bed of fettuccine with barely any sauce and literally two pieces of mushroom. The taste was god awful and it did not sit right in the stomach later that evening. My friend got a Stromboli which was barely cooked through with wet dough in spots and barely anything inside. Now, the drinks. I don't know if the bartender just didn't care that evening or if we were being retaliated against for coming in "late" (again their own website says they are open till 11 pm we came in a few minutes before 9 pm) but my first drink had no liquor in it - $12 drink mind you. The second drink I ordered I switched it up and got a basic gin and tonic because no way they could mess that up - spoiler: they did. It was tonic with LITERALLY a splash of gin. My apologies if we came in late but if it was going to be such an inconvenience for you I would've preferred you turned us away. Instead, you took our money, gave us old food that wasn't even remotely close to what the menu states it is. No bread. Shit drinks. All at a top tier price for this area. That was my 9th or 10th time dining at the black olive. It was also my last.

There is one other restaurant as well as several businesses using this parking area so there is always traffic. Handicapped parking is limited with a couple spaces near their entrance and a couple more spaces further away from the door. You'll need to look for a ramp if needed as there is not one by their entrance, but that is not their fault. Walking in for lunch, there was a sign to seat yourself. The restaurant was slightly less than half full. Seating is a mix of tables and booths. There is a low wall on the left with tables on the other side which may be a bit more private or less busy. Most of the booth seats we passed need recovering and the general decor is older and could use a freshening. There is also a small bar in rear with about six stools. There is some background music noticeable but at a low volume which did not interfere with conversation. The temperature inside was rather cool and we left our coats on during our meal. Our waitress came by within a few seconds of us sitting down. She took our drink order and brought the drinks back within a minute. We asked for a few minutes to review the menu. After about ten minutes she returned, apologizing for getting distracted with bussing tables and taking other orders. It appears the restaurant was understaffed and our waitress was performing many tasks. We ordered two appetizers and two entrees. One appetizer dip came out piping hot in about ten minutes. The Buffalo Chicken dip was very good. There is distinct Buffalo flavor without significant spiciness. The majority of the included chicken was shredded as expected but there was one very large chicken piece in the middle. This needed a fork and knife to break apart to eat. The accompanying pita-type chips were warm, crispy on the outside and little puffy inside. The remaining appetizer was delivered about five minutes later, with the two entrees about five minutes after that. The Fall special Four Cheese Bruschetta dip was good. Three of the cheeses were well mixed and the mozzarella was layered on top in the middle of the bowl. Once this cooled a bit it was difficult to use the pita chips to dip any of the mozzarella so a fork was used. The fresh basil and roasted cherry tomatoes were nice garnishes. The Johnny's Special sub was fine but not really special. There was enough meat, lettuce, and tomato to feel it was a decent value but the flavor was overall bland. The onion, mayo, and Italian dressing were minimal to non-existent, at least as far as flavor was concerned. The bread was nicely toasted with a crispness without bordering on hard. The bottom of the sandwich did get soggy by the time the first half of the sandwich was eaten but it did not fall apart. The accompanying French fries were very good, crispy outside and tender inside. The Syracuse Stuffer Calzone was another decent value with adequate ingredients to make a complete meal. The steak was decently flavorful but there was also gristle (possibly grill scrapings) included which took away from the experience. The accompanying marinara dipping sauce was underwhelming. While the recipe ideas and flavors are interesting, the execution was lacking. The kitchen had an issue with the timing of sending out the different parts of the order although the entrees did arrive at the same time. Our server was obviously good at her job but was saddled with additional tasks beyond any reasonable expectation of being able to handle while still serving the customers. The overall potential of the menu does merit another visit.

Every time I come here I think in my head... "no wonder I don't come here often, it's such a weird…read morelocation!" I mean the location isn't bad. Just a bit confusing to get to. You see it from the road but you can't turn directly into it. Unless you got a really cool off road Jeep, you "might" be able to make it up that steep hill. I've only been here twice actually. And I would come here more often if it wasn't for the fact that I've missed that turn 100 times. First off! Yes it's Italian food. Not real real Italian food, but they never said they were real Italian either so that's a BIG plus when an establishment doesn't try to be something they are not. Secondly, I think it's a really cool setup inside for a FASTFOOD joint. Hell its nicer and captures the Italian experience better than some REAL Italian places! Also their staff are really nice. No, you're not gonna find any Italian chefs back there. I looked. Lastly.... they are super quick, food is super cheap, and while it's not meant to blows your socks off, it's actually quite good!! And they also have a drive thru. How cool is THAT?? When you're carving some pasta, pizzas, sandwiches with a slight Italian flare to it, and want it quick (as opposed to boiling pasta at home, who actually enjoys that step?)... you can be in and out of here with your own Italian dinner in no time. I love them yes, but only for what they are. Italian fast food. Yep, they do that well enough!
