I gave Venice Nails and Spa more than one opportunity, but unfortunately, both experiences left me disappointed. During my first visit, I paid approximately $60, including tip, for a gel refill. Within only two days, several nails had chipped and the polish began peeling. When I returned to have them corrected, the response was dismissive, and I was told that the color was simply "supposed to do that." I did not feel that the quality of the service matched the price, nor was the issue handled professionally. Despite that experience, I later decided to give the salon another chance. Unfortunately, the customer service was still an issue. After the salon provided me with the wrong total--and after my friend and I had already been overcharged--the owner followed me outside to my car, knocked on my window, and demanded an additional $5. The situation could have been resolved calmly inside the salon, but the way it was handled felt unnecessarily confrontational and uncomfortable. No apology was offered for the billing confusion or the interaction afterward. I understand that mistakes happen, but how a business responds to those mistakes matters. Between the premature chipping, inconsistent billing, and poor handling of my concerns, I ultimately chose to take my business elsewhere. read more

I came into this salon expecting a relaxing and professional appointment, but instead I left feeling humiliated, disrespected, and physically injured. I had my 1-year-old with me, and instead of treating us with kindness or understanding, members of the staff made comments and laughed about my child. Whether they thought I could understand them or not, it was obvious they were making fun of us. As a parent, that was incredibly hurtful and embarrassing. The quality of the service was just as disappointing. During my manicure, my fingers were cut multiple times to the point that they were bleeding. Accidents can happen, but what bothered me was the lack of care, concern, or apology afterward. I expected much better attention to cleanliness, technique, and customer care. The entire visit left me feeling unwelcome and uncomfortable. No customer should leave a salon feeling embarrassed for bringing their child or with bleeding fingers from a routine nail service. I believe businesses should treat every customer with professionalism, respect, and compassion. Unfortunately, that was not my experience here. I will not be returning, and I cannot recommend this salon to others. I was received very warmly by the manager Mr. Young, who found me a technician by the name of Jenny, to assist me with my pedicure, my regular lady Tu, was not available on Mondays. I didn't have any other days that I could come back this week so Jenny, serviced me. I must say she did OK with the pedicure, and eyebrows but she was a little rough handling me. I gave a Low rating because I tripped over a mat with water and food on it for some kind of pet. After tripping and spilling the contents several of the employees stared a big conversation amongst themselves in their language. This was not my fault they put this in front of the area where you walk out of the facial area. I felt they were talking about me in a negative way. Consumer beware when you don't understand the language and the technicians start talking in their language makes it uncomfortable for the clients. Please refrain from showing your displeasure. I am visiting from out of town and decided to get a pedicure. I would like to say it was a great experience but it is probably one of the worst pedicures I have ever had. The nail tech barely took any cuticle off and really ran through the pedicure within 20 minutes. I had to ask a couple of times for her to cut my nails. She barely let my feet soak so much so that when she attempted to cut my cuticles it hurt because it was dry. I'm sitting here saying to myself any other person would not have paid for this service. at the very least my nails are painted. Takes a lot for me not to tip but honestly the nail tech did not want to do this pedicure. I do think it's because I simply asked for a basic pedicure when she tried to push add ons to my service. I did read good reviews on the yelp site so perhaps this is a one off but it was such a bad service I was compelled to leave a review. sorry but I will remember never to come back here. read more

My experience here started great but I wasn't impressed with the overall quality. I was able to make a reservation same day which was nice. My nail tech started off very friendly and attentive but that changed as the appointment progressed. They don't have their prices listed so it was all a bit of a surprise. I got the pedicure and and manicure. For the pedicure I opted for the the more advanced option because my feet really needed the extra loving as I was very pregnant and it's not easy to reach. He helped me match the color and talked me into gel. He also offered a water which was great service. The pedicure looked nice but for the extra price I didn't feel like I got a great scrub and grooming on my feet. He barely spent time on the bottom which is what I needed and paid for!!!. I also did not enjoy the pumice floating around nicking my ankles in the water. They should not put any tools in the water while working on your feet. For the manicure I was especially unimpressed. As much as I enjoyed talking to my nail tech he started to rush and look around a lot as if he was anxious to take on another client. He did not pay attention to detail. He had a lot of nail polish on the edges and it just looked very sloppy. I had to even ask for him to clean it up some but was still unhappy with the final product when I left. For the price and getting gel you would think they would rub your hands with lotion but they didn't even do that. My cuticles were bad as he noted during our session....unfortunately but they were so much worse after. They got really inflamed and irritated. The most horrific part of the entire experience was the sanitizing factor. I noticed my tech brought his tools out from his own kit. I'm not sure if they sanitize between sessions but it didn't feel clean. I'd much rather prefer (especially for their higher prices) newly packaged tools used. They use new tools freshly out of package at many places including my regular spot. Also when I was paying he was already with a new client and I just can't believe he had time to sanitize which is gross. They didn't even ask me to wash my hands once during the visit and most places ask you to wash your hands before they work on your hands. I came with a friend and she had a much better experience with her acrylics. She also agreed the prices with too much however. I will not be coming back here as I wasn't fully impressed with the prices, service or cleanliness. read more

I have had great experiences with dipped manicures and deluxe pedicures here over the past year. I go every 3 weeks for manicures and depending on the time of year, every month and a half to two months for pedicures. That said, I dragged my husband for a pedicure (practically kicking and screaming) last time I went in for my manicure, and his experience was pretty awful. The girl that did his deluxe pedicure was sitting on her phone the entire time and did an awful job. His feet were as rough as they were before the pedicure and she didn't even file his toenails. That was very disappointing and I am unlikely to get him to go back there, so will have to find somewhere else when his feet get bad enough for me to make demands. read more

I really enjoyed my experience here today with Crystal. I showed her the picture of what I wanted, and upon attempting to back track on the marble nail for the design she reassured me that she could do it. My previous experience I had not had a pedicure with Venice before and I have to say I really enjoyed my experience. I'm only 5'1", so every time in the past I've gotten callous removal I've ended up having to help hold my leg up. With their pedi stations, they have a middle piece that rises up to make it easy on their technicians as well as customers! My pedicure was lasting with a great massage and exfoliating. Leading up to getting my nails filled I was apprehensive because a previous salon butchered my cuticles and did such a poor job. But crystal took her time, fixed the bumpy large nails and made them beautiful and thin to be more natural. She knew to use the base color on the nail before the sparkles so the previous acrylic didn't show through. She also took her time to try and get the marbling colors to match the nail polish. *** I did not ask to match the same exact polish as example. The one I chose was for my own preference. They're a little pricy but to know I'm going to get what I want I'm definitely making Venice my go to nail salon from this point forward! read more

This was the 2nd time getting my nails done here. It's great for walk ins because they've taken me in both times, however for the pricing I have not been impressed. The picture is from the most recent time. I got a gel color change. I agree with other reviews in the lack of cleanliness and was not asked to wash my hands prior to the tech working on my nails so they started off dusty.. There are gaps up by my cuticle and do not look like I got them today, they look like theyre at least a week grown out. I was cautiously optimistic visiting this nail salon. I'm new to the area and explained that I've had the same person work on my nails for 5 years. The tech was friendly, listened and worked fast. The salon was nice but I don't have much to compare to. There was no "price list" but a powder fill on my own nails and a regular pedicure came to $74. Pedicure was odd as no soap was used when using the scrub pad. I also have visible nail polish on my toes, The powder fill was done differently then I'm used to but everyone has a different technique. My tech complimented my own nails. I asked to cut them a bit which he did but never competed the lengths. He finished very quickly and I noticed a huge bump on my thumb, he fixed. No biggie these things happen. I got home and took a closer look at the techs work. Nails are nice and thin but the rest looks sloppy and tacky. You can judge yourself. I won't go back. read more

First, let me say that the ladies working here are wonderful and do a good job. Unfortunately, the gentleman at the front ruins the entire experience. The first time I went to Venice Nails, it appeared as if he reprimanded two of the women working for talking to each other. I understand rules in a workplace, but the reprimand in front of customers was unprofessional. On a separate occasion, I needed two gel nails fixed. They chipped after two days. The same man was quite rude and said it would be a 30-45 minute wait (even though there were many available people to fix my nails). His attitude was an obvious way to get me to leave, as my nail fixes would not bring in any income. I've been looking for a good nail place in Nona since I moved here almost 3 years ago. Most are wildly expensive and don't even do a great job. I'm not cheap by any means, but my last experience had been getting a basic gel manicure and basic pedicure and it was $105 BEFORE tip and I got a terrible infection. I decided to try Venice yesterday and it was great! They were kind, clean and did a great job at a reasonable price. My basic pedicure and gel manicure was $64 before tip. I love having my mani & pedi here because it is close to my home; I've even brought a friend with me so that she gets the good experience. Staff is always friendly and I've been treated nice. I do have a problem with my actual service. Every time I come in with a dark nail polish on it's never removed fully prior to applying the new color and I always end up going home and doing them myself and never voiced my concern until today. I approached the gentleman at the desk and told him "I just wanted to bring this to your attention" and explained the above stated and I added "I do not have time to stay today but I would like for this to be fixed". While my pedicure was cheap at $28 dollars and we were taken in right away, I was not given the most time or direction to pick colors and ask for what I wanted. The place was in a conveniently located strip with plenty of parking. There were plenty of stalls for nails and pedicures as well as a lot of technicians. The facility seemed very clean. Wow. This is the absolute WORST experience I have ever had with a mani/pedi. If I could give zero stars I would. First, I don't ever write a negative review so if I'm even writing this, it's must be BAD. The nail tech, Kim, was very rude. She didn't say a word to me (which was actually fine, but every time I asked a question she had a snappy attitude). I paid $43 or something for one of the fancier pedicures and my feet are 100% worse than before - they're cracked and dry and disgusting. I will have to treat them myself at home. Not to mention I asked for square nails and they're all different shapes. There are nail polish splashes on my hands and my hands feel like sandpaper. At the end, she wrote the total of $50+ on a receipt and just placed it in front of me and walked off. Literally, not a word. Extremely disappointed and will NEVER be back. read more
