It also did help that Sam's coffee call, another great spot inside this hotel was also closed. Apparently their hours are a little more stricter and based around the morning crowd. All in all, the ambience, location, and good vibe feeling still are going to dominate this particular location and hotel. You simply can't go wrong, even if the rooftop is closed. We ultimately went to the Rizzo restaurant inside. Whether you're a local or not, always try to call ahead and make sure that their rooftop is going to be open. It may very well enhance your visit tenfold.

Our room had a microwave, mini fridge, and coffee maker. We could even open the screen door to let some fresh air in. Towels were clean; the sheets were clean. The heating and cooling unit in the room worked well. You do have to insert your key card into the power switch to get electricity in the room. No real complaints about the room, except that they had some unfinished work in our bathroom on the ceiling... whatever work they were doing, they had a duct-tape situation going on and the tape would fall down when the shower got steamy... but no harm, no foul. They re-taped it back up the next day. Staff was pleasant. The front desk has little extra toiletries available if you forget to pack something. I do wish we got more orientation of the hotel and amenities when we initially checked in. We had a short stay here, so we didn't get to explore the premises that much. We had a nice stay in Marina del Rey overall. I can see this being a good hotel for an extended stay.

I had just returned from a trip to Spain and was extremely disappointed in the quality, especially compared to the breakfasts at the hotels there. This breakfast was more in line with what you would expect at a one or two star hotel. The next day, we ate somewhere else. It was much better and cost less, even with the food credit. The front desk seems to have no idea what they are doing. They gave me the wrong bills, I paid for two rooms, they did not even have the room number right. They were nice, but had I not looked I would have paid much more than my bill and who knows what happened to mine. There is no where decent to eat at the hotel. The pool is nice.

I had a major breach of safety, security and privacy during my stay at this property this weekend…read more Yesterday, a room key was issued to an individual who was not listed on my reservation. This individual was able to approach the front desk, present her own identification, and gain access to my room despite not being an authorized guest on my reservation. This incident represents a significant failure of the property's security procedures and has caused me considerable concern regarding my safety and privacy. I spoke with the front desk manager in person regarding this matter, as well as several other service-related concerns I experienced during my stay. During that conversation, I learned that the front desk agent who granted access reportedly stated that the identification presented matched the reservation. This explanation is highly concerning and appears impossible, as I was not present at the property at the time, which can all be verified by parking records, front desk and security cameras. I was also very disappointed with my response from Hilton's guest assistant manager when I called to inform them of this situation as my "complaint was recorded" but no recourse from Hilton guest assistant was provided. Very alarming experience that I hope does not happen to anyone else.

I had an extremely disappointing experience at The Kinney Venice Beach Hotel…read more Less than five hours after checking in, we found roaches in and around the mini fridge area of our room. Maintenance came after the first sighting, sprayed the area, and cleaned it, but the problem was not resolved. We found roaches in the same area on two additional occasions, making it clear this was not an isolated incident. Because we no longer felt comfortable staying in the room, we informed the front desk. We were told that nothing could be done until management arrived after 6:00 a.m. Since there was no immediate resolution available, I had to contact Airbnb directly for assistance. Between midnight and 1:00 a.m. on the Fourth of July, we were forced to leave the hotel and find somewhere else to stay. Having to search for accommodations in the middle of the night on a holiday was stressful and completely disrupted our trip. The experience didn't end there. The food we had purchased and stored in the refrigerator had been contaminated by the roaches and had to be discarded. I was told management would contact me the following day, but that never happened. I also sent an email that morning, as instructed, and still have not received any response regarding the contaminated food or the overall experience. I have given the hotel ample time to communicate with me before writing this review, but since no one has followed up, I am sharing my honest and factual experience. While the maintenance staff did respond initially, the recurring roach problem, the lack of an immediate solution, and the complete absence of communication and accountability from management made this one of the worst hotel experiences I've had. I cannot recommend staying here until these issues are properly addressed. I'm sorry to repeat. No offer for refund on food that went bad due to lack of cleanliness with pests living in the fridge is wild and not attempting to reach out like promised is even worse. Please don't post a copy and paste response just saying thank you. This is not something to be thankful for being notified about. Find a way to fix a relationship. It's been days and still no outreach.
