Worst customer service ever, old man was extremely rude. Would not even give me a price for the room. He proceeded to tell me I need to go online and figure it out myself. Then hung up on me. I called back and he said he need to help someone else and hung up again. What a loser. I will never come here or recommend this place ever again. Horrible. Plus there is a bum literally sleeping on the steps of the entrance with his garbage spread out so this establishment clearly does not care about the cleanliness of this property. I enjoyed the best view of Venice Beach from the front room of Venice Suites. It was a 1-bedroom suite with a living room/dining room area, walk-in closet, full bathroom with a shower/bathtub, and a kitchenette with a full refrigerator, dishwasher, garbage disposal, and a stove top. Paul, the On-Call Front Desk Staff was a treasure. He was constantly making my stay as personable and convenient as possible to make customers feel valued at Venice Suites. Loyalty Inducing. Miguel, the Safety Park parking lot attendant, was professional, intuitive, and pleasant. He had a logical answer for every question. The open-air parking lot was conveniently located on the painted side of the Venice Suites. If there is no room in this parking lot, they will valet your car to their nearest parking garage. Convenient. The Venice Suites Hotel is my preferred Venice Beach hotel. Their rooms are ultra clean. Their staff is friendly. They keep their billing invoices accurate every time. We have stayed here multiple times and love it. Great central location. The rooms are large and comfortable. Absolutely love the kitchen area with a burner stove, large refrigerator/freezer, toaster oven, sink, plates, silverware, cups, glasses, coffee maker, and even a dishwasher! The staff is amazing too (here we are with Danielle)! This feels like our home away from home and we step outside onto the stand and beach! Our home burned in the recent fires and we came for a couple weeks and back because our new rental home has mold. If I could give one star I would. The pictures do not match what the units actually look like. The whole main bathroom and BEDROOM smell like strong urine. The beds are horribly uncomfortable. We checked in and checked right out and did not stay the night and opted to drive 2 hours at 10PM rather than spend the night there. We requested our $400 back and Venice Suites will not reply. The parking is .4 miles away- kind of a pain in the 58 degree drizzly night past all the inebriated street people. You will get barked at about demagnetizing the keys and loosing the parking pass- so don't do it! Dirty, loud, people yelling in the middle of the night. Rude staff. Very cool place to stay when you're visiting Venice beach. The place has tons of history. We arrived at night and we parked in an alley so we can check in and we saw some interesting things. I was a little hesitant about staying but once we were inside, we fell in love with the building. Our room had a brick wall which was cool! There's no AC but a fan is provided. The bathroom is pretty small but it will do! The rooftop has an amazing view of Venice beach. It was pretty relaxing! You can send postcards to your friends, family, or even to yourself from the hotel. They provide towels, beach gear, and toys. The only thing we had an issue with was the parking. The parking is down the alleyway. We paid for it with our hotel but the parking attendant was trying to rip us off. We were not happy with that interaction. read more

I had a truly bizarre and alarming experience here this week. My SO and I made a reservation via Hotwire. We wanted to stay somewhere on the beach in Venice and even though we had MANY concerns about the neighborhood and the "hotels" on the beach in general, we decided to be adventurous and give it a shot. It's pretty clear that these places that advertise as "hotels" on the Venice beach are in fact SRO's (a residential hotel ). There aren't things like traditional front desks, etc... Some places are more upfront about it than others. The Venice Suites masquerades solely as a tourist hotel on Hotwire. It is not. Not that I got to see the lack of front desk because I wasn't allowed in the door. Seriously. After looking around for parking, I was already becoming very nervous about the neighborhood. I never did see the garage the "hotel" recommends but most of the outdoor lots aren't overnight and I'm not sure I'd be comfortable leaving my car there anyway. There is a very small outdoor lot right next to the Venice Suites and for only $45 you can put your car there all night. But it's not secure. It's just an outdoor lot. Still, we decided to do that because the idea of schlepping luggage half a mile or more was NOT appealing. So once you get around to the front of the building, there is a staircase (NOT ADA compliant)... one must lug their suitcases up these steps. And then the door is locked. Because this isn't really a hotel. It's a residence of some kind. Not the good kind. So I rang the intercom and my new nemesis opened the door. She immediately demanded I put on a mask although I was still standing outside. But OK... I get it. I'm no anti-masker. But I was holding onto luggage, a laptop bag and rummaging through my purse trying to find my mask. I tell her I'm getting it but also that I'm triple vaccinated (I am a BIG vaccine fan) but she is starting to get hysterical and begins yelling at this point about how "WE TAKE MASKS SERIOUSLY... WE DON'T MESS AROUND... YOU HAVE AN ATTITUDE...". Meanwhile, as she's having some sort of mental episode, I now have a mask on and am calmly asking her if we can move on with things as I have a pre-paid reservation and I'd like to get off the porch of this place. At this point, I'm looking down into the hall and feeling/smelling dread. The place REEKS of marijuana smoke and desperation. It looks like the kind of apartment building that American Horror Story would film in. That whole Star Wars line... "I've got a bad feeling about this...". The manic screaming has continued. By this time, my SO has shown up from the $45 parking lot experience to see what all the commotion is about. At this point, the crazy "front desk" lady has now decided that she won't allow me the privilege of checking in to this dump. I'm relieved but also just confused and a little embarrassed. I've had three vaccination shots. I'm wearing a mask. She's yelling at me about "LA COUNTY REQUIRES..." meanwhile I work in politics and government and I think I understand what the law is and I don't need a lecture from this nut. Especially as I'm wearing a mask and patiently waiting for her to stop yelling. I drag my bags down the steps. And I think about gratitude. I know I would have been miserable in that place. Thankfully, the parking guys at the lot next door were happy to refund our $45 so we could get out of there. And in retrospect, this was probably the best thing that could have happened. I cannot imagine that the interior of the Venice Suites would be any more charming than the outside. The neighborhood is not ideal. The parking is a fright. And the "hotel" itself is improperly advertised. Do yourself a favor and BELIEVE what so many others have said about this place. Some adventures just aren't worth it. And in the end, I got my money back from my pre-paid reservation. So... wow. read more

We stayed here for 3 nights and did not have hot water for the first 48 hours of our stay. Look at earlier reviews to see that this is a recurring problem which needs to be permanently resolved. If not for this issue, I'd give Venice Suites 3 or even 4 stars. The staff are friendly, the views are great, the roof terrace is sweet, the bed is comfortable and it is right on the beach. But, really? No hot water? Even the cheapest roadside motels provide that amenity. Cannot believe an establishment can charge $260 per night and not provide hot water. They did not offer any financial remediation for this inconvenience. It was two nights before they offered guests a shower at their sister hotel. They did not handle the situation ethically or with responsiveness. A couple of other notes - things are a little rough around the edges. The hallway carpet is old , the hallways need a new paint job. It's more like staying at a hostel while backpacking. A hostel with AMAZING views. And a hostel with rooms that are clean, nice and comfortable. They are pretty awesome, actually. Finally, the parking option is great. Just drop your bags off, get directions to the lot and for $10 a day you get parking underneath a building in a very secure lot. Great deal and only a 5 minute walk away. With a little effort, this place could warrant a much higher rating. You probably need to be a chill, experienced traveler to enjoy it. read more

First off there is no AC and on top of that the fan in our room did not work and then there were screens missing from the windows and therefore we had to deal with mats and flys all night long. I really regret wasting my money here when I could have paid the same amount and stayed at a 4 star hotel. This ruined the trip I planned for my husband's birthday. Not to mention hearing women screaming and throwing up all over the parking lot that I paid 60$ to park in and I couldn't shut the window because it was too hot. After the girl stopped screaming bloody murder and throwing up a bunch of men came to the parking lot DRUNK and tried to drive out of it DRUNK at 4 am almost hitting 3 different cars. This place has cameras all over, but I doubt the staff care. Don't do it. Don't stay here. The Roof top deck is so not worth it. What happened to the girl? Who knows? Check your cameras. read more

Venice Breeze Suites in LA is the WORST hotel!! Stay as far away as possible, look the other way. They hire staff that does not have respect for paying customers, then when questioned about inflate, unexpected fees on the reservation, threatened to call the cops! On top of that, the front desk agent refuses to call the paying customer by their preferred name, let alone address the customer by any name at all besides "sweetie". What made matters worst, the customer had a service dog which they've brought to the hotel to stay on several occasions. The front desk agent did not acknowledge the animal as being a service pet, and have gone as far as to not refund the paying customers inflated reservation fee, and insisted that they must wait 5-7 days to receive their refund. If I could provide 0 stars, I would. Do not go here, save your money and go to a hotel that respects ALL people! read more

I was searching the web for a place to stay overnight near the beach before heading back home, and came across Venice Suites. It's an older building so rough around the edges exterior and hallway but was very clean. The room was great: spotless, plenty of space, really comfortable bed, and nice to have a kitchen. I checked into this hotel on a Friday night with two girlfriends. We arrived around 7:30 and the office closes at 8:00. It's what I would consider a small,l boutique type of hotel. Parking is not that great but upon arrival you can park in the adjacent lot if you can find a spot or unload your car at the rear street entrance. After that you will have to move it about a block away to the parking garage. You are given a parking pass so it's free. The first night we stayed in a suite on the 4th floor facing the street. They do have an elevator but it's an older property so it holds either two people or one person and their luggage. The suite is basically set up like a one bedroom apartment. It was clean, spacious, had a kitchenette, sofa bed, and dining table. The furniture is Ikea as one of my friends noted. The bed is super comfortable too. There is no AC but ceiling fan and they provide two tower fans for the room. The second night we stayed on the second floor in a suite facing the beach. Similar room but the furnishing, wall photos, and even the radio were upgraded. The kitchenette is stocked with almost everything you need. My minor complaint is that housekeeping could do a better job of making sure each room has what it needs. Our first room had a wine opener but our second room did not yet it had three can openers and no salt shaker. We had to borrow a wine opener from another guest who had two in their room. This is a great location as it's right on the beach and close to walking to restaurants, liquor and convenience stores. read more

A parking spot a few blocks away. A suite stocked with soft towels and a decent shower. A beautiful, breezy roofdeck for lounging around (and grilling if you're ambitious). A comfortable bed. Although, the bed may be perfectly comfortable to sleep on, but why is it a thing in this city to place mattresses on a wider wooden platform? Am I the only one leaving LA with significant bruises all over my shins? The check-in process was very easy, customer service is excellent, place is clean and right on the beach! The only issue was the elevator was broken and there is no parking. They have a designated parking lot walking distance down the road. We had to lug our luggage back to the suites but it was worth it in the end! The staff recommended Venice Ale House for dinner and we had a wonderful stay here. You basically have a studio apartment with a full kitchen and everything you need to feel at home. It was comfortable and location was good. Roof top deck was AMAZING! However-be aware -not hotels fault- Venice has a ton of homeless living in this area. The strand and beachfront properties are the location to be- from the looks of it. There is a ton of activity. During the day is great. But don't really recommend walking anywhere at night with kids. My stay at Venice Suites was first rate. The beach location on the boardwalk with stunning views from my room is why I chose it. The moment I walked in, Addy and Christa and staff were welcoming, professional, helpful and kind, with many suggestions for restaurants and things to do. They were consistently present through out my stay asking me how I was doing and if I needed anything. My one bedroom suite had an amazing view and was beautifully prepared, bright and clean and functional. A great well furnished kitchen. I was solo and working with UCLA in Westwood. Rather than staying in the expensive hotels near UCLA, I decided to try a less expensive hotel in Venice and enjoy the beach, swimming and boardwalk. My commute was approximately 20 minutes and my Lyft ride about $25. It worked well and I would recommend others working with UCLA to consider this option. I will return with my family soon. I took a long time trying to piece together all the info from websites, yelp reviews and other information to find the right place to stay at and I am so glad I picked the right one for me. This place is as described and it was really enjoyable. The pricing for beachside hotels at Venice are all around the same price, around $300 to $350 so it's better to compare what you will get. There was a lot of run around with similar priced rooms that are partial view or full view or a block from the beach or right next to the beach or the noise level is unbearable etc. So this place if you get the full view one bedroom suite is exactly as described. The room is at the top floor right below the rooftop access and it has a nice full view of the beach from the living room area. It has a nice sofa and table and big windows that you can open for air. I enjoyed sunset and sunrise from here. There is a kitchen area with pots and pans, utensils, a fridge and a dining area. There is also a one bedroom with a nice comfy bed, a small walk in closet, and a nice little bathroom. Outside the hallway has a little stairwell to go upstairs to a nice patio with bar stools and lounge chairs. It's really windy up here and cold so dress warmly. Noise level is OK here, since this place is a little ways from the super busy parts of Venice Blvd but it's still busy so there is still noise from vendors and people talking. In the daytime it's not as noticeable since there's more noise but at night it's more apparent because it's empty except for some people yelling from the nearby bar or music playing from there. A fight broke out when we stayed there but it's not that bothersome if you go into your one bedroom area. There isn't any air conditioning so you have to use the windows but it's pretty cool at the beach so it wasn't a problem. Also they have an elevator but it's old and can only fit 1 to 2 people. I didn't take it and just took the stairs. They only have four floors so it's not too bad. The staff is super friendly. Check in is a little tricky so this is how you do it. After you buy your room online, make sure you look for an email from them with information or PDF attached that has your entrance code and room information. When you get here you can temporarily park in the lot by the big mural for 10 minutes to check in and drop off luggage. Go to the front on Venice, type in the code and enter. The office is on your right. If you have a car and want to park it, bring $10 with you at check in and ask for the parking pass. They will give you a parking pass with instructions and then after you drop off your luggage you move your car to an off site complex about 5 blocks away. Park with the instructions and then walk or lyft back to the hotel. You can have ins and outs with the car too. And then when you check out, get your car, park it in the temporary area again, load your luggage and drop off the parking pass to the office. And your done! They are nice and you can also leave your luggage at the office while you get your car. Oh ya place is pretty clean... 8 out of 10? read more

This is a wonderful little hotel...very charming and clean and quirky... I stayed in a studio and it had everything I needed for a long weekend visit. The location cannot be beat, and the price is reasonable. The only downside was that parking is 7 blocks away in a garage, which was a hassle. There is no central A/C in the unit, but the cool ocean breezes and an oscillating fan were fine to help with the summer heat. I loved it. I will definitely stay there again in the future. read more

It's Venice. Not the Ritz. Yes, homeless people live and sleep outside but they don't bother anyone. Venice isn't know for its class, it's known for grunge and history, art and great beaches. Our room was on the first floor, had a comfy bed, clean bathroom and kitchen and was stocked with dishes, and a full size fridge. You can't get any closer to the beach than this and you're within walking distance to dining, coffee shops and the boardwalk. This place is amazing upon leaving Cadillac hotel next door for there rude overpriced disgusting bed bug filled rooms we came here to Venice suites as a breathe of relief. They got me a room for three days without a prebooking and I must say WOW. The first room I stayed at was very very noisy. The floor above me was super squeaky. The building is old they just renovated it but you can hear everyone during the day. I had a super super super super super tough time getting my money back from the hotel when I booked through Expedia. There's no reception in the hotel so my cell phone kept getting cut off every few min. I would never stay here again. We ended up at this hotel becuase we wanted to be near the beach and do a bit of laundry. BIG MISTAKE. The laundry was not working and the servi e was by far the worse service in california. The blond lady that sits at the front desk in the mornings was a nightmare. She would not give us soap or toilet paper. We requested it before we left for the day and she said she'd have it sent to the room. When we returned, it was past 8pm so the office was closed and she still hadnt sent us any. I then wake up the next day and request some again. The lady pretended that we never requested it the prior day and told me i would have to buy some because she wasnt going into the housekeepers closet to get it. (Housekeeping was not in yet) There were many other things that were wrong with our stay. And when i requested to speak to a manager the lady said that she was it. She then denied giving me her name and gave me a fake email to reach her superior at. There is no working elevator and no ac. If you read this do your self a favor and stay elsewhere. There were multiple other people that had problems with her during my stay and i dont think somthing as simple as soap and toilet paper should have to be bought when i am staying somewhere. read more

We stayed in an Ocean Front View room on the 3rd floor. Gorgeous Views!!! Check in was easy and everyone was so nice and accommodating. The room was perfect, had everything we needed. Equipped with full fridge, micro, toaster oven, coffee pot, stove top and all the items we needed. Stocked nicely with essentials. The beds were so comfortable that we slept like a baby! We did have someone on the 4th floor and could hear every step, they seemed to be dancing around, but at the end of the night we were so tired from the sightseeing of the day, it did not bother us much. The rooftop deck was gorgeous and watching the sun go down was magical! At night we slept with the window slightly open and there were no disturbances. The only downfall was that it seems that the hotel is a "dead spot" for phone service, we had spotty service, but to be honest, you are on vacation and connection should not be an issue. It was nice to actually take a few days away from the phones and internet and actually spend time with the family, and the kids were actually looking up from the phones this whole vacation! (the hotel does have a land line in the room if needed). It might be a bit noisy....you will hear live bands at night from the bar a few doors down. You will also enjoy spectacular ocean views & sunsets.....you are right on the sand. I lived around the corner from this beautiful 4-story historic building as they gutted and remodeled it several years ago. It turned out quite nice inside, while the finer exterior features were preserved. The location, at the far north end of Venice Beach almost into Santa Monica, can't be beat as a residence or a place to vacation. Everything you need is within short walking distance. I love this place. The Venice Suites are in a fabulous old , 4 story, brick building on the Venice boardwalk. For $180 a night we stayed in a 3rd floor, ocean view, studio apartment with hardwood floors, cute/modern/clean decor, a newly remodeled (and fully stocked) kitchen and bathroom, on the beach. The building also has an amazing roof deck with built-in sink/BBQ/counter space for prepping food, etc..., as well as a bunch of chaise lounges, tables and chairs (not to mention a gorgeous view). Important to note: the Venice Suites are short-term apartment rentals (it's not a hotel), so if you're looking for a full-service hotel, this is not the place for you. They do provide linens/towels/shampoo, etc... and there is a manager on site during regular business hours. Our only complaints are that the rooms don't have deadbolt or interior locks that can only be opened from the inside; and the parking lot for guests is about 3 city blocks away (although, there is a short-term lot connected to the building for loading and unloading luggage, so it's not that big of a deal - you're supposed to roller skate everywhere anyway, right?).
