My lease wasn't terminated, but you did provide me with a "Demand to Vacate" after I wouldn't sign your ridiculous "month to Month" exhausting lease, after I already lived in the apartment for 5 years. Sending me a daily "sign the lease" into my email without providing the lease for me to read. The repeated harassment was from your company, including hanging this "Demand to Vacate on my front door" after serving me no less then 4 times. I was a model tenant, quiet, took care of property, and never late on my rent in 5 years. I put money into the property. Yet I had to live with first, a Hoarding Family that snuck in their registered Sex offender relative. Then Veno Properties let a woman move in with a dog she couldn't handle, so she confined it and abused it. While I had rights to a quiet tenancy, I had to endure her poor animals incessant barking, for hours. When she locked the dog in the bathroom, the dog would scratch in panic for hours. I didn't have to spy on anyone, it was blatantly screaming in my apartment. Veno did nothing despite, their own 3-page animal addendum. They didn't give a shit about the dog. Guilda told me to call the Dog Officer. The tenant had to put the dog down, for Renal Failure. She then, set up a camera with a blue light to spy on me. When I went outside for anything, the camera was pointed at me. She kept telling me I killed her dog. Obviously suffering some kind of Dementia. She harassed me with her car, parked me in. See picture. Veno did nothing despite even having photographs. In fact, Veno's inspector, verbally told me I had 2 strikes against me (didn't care about my drywall tape hanging). I asked her to repeat the 2 strikes comment, but she refused, because she knew she was being Bias. You removed very much alive, Big old Arborvitae's trees, at 8am under my bedroom window, with no notice. They weren't dead and there was a reason they were planted, but you're the expert. You could have trimmed them. But your maintenance guy told me, you just didn't like them. Stop lying. Through 2 inspections of my apartment, by your experts, with all my drywall tape hanging off the ceiling, and me bringing it up directly...any professional would know there is a roof leak. It took you two years to fix it, after a steady stream of water was coming in the living room. Not to mention all the mold that exists in the rafters of that home, because the roof leaked for years. The bathroom ceiling has rot over the tub. The brick chimney is falling in; bricks lay on the ground. The Foundation is crumbling. The windows are broken. Yet you advertise this home as well maintained. It's clear the current tenant left after one year. It was important that you got your client" to chainsaw those trees. Like you built new steps to a door that didn't work. When you renovated the downstairs apartment, you had your maintenance guy use Gymnasium Lacquer, without a respirator and without opening the windows (they were all broken) and fumed out my apartment with my pets. That stuff can kill you, but you scoffed at my call to come open windows. You don't care about Tenants or your maintenance guys. Which is probably why both quit at the same time. Basically, your arrogant and are representing Slum Lords, which makes you a Slum Lord. Maybe you should pay attention, get your facts straight. read more

My fiancée and I just started our photography business together and do all the accounting ourselves. They asked us for official paystubs or our tax returns. Now since we just started our business, there is no tax returns yet of us officially making money. So we who do our own accounting as we are a small business gave them our official paystubs with our Ein number and business address. We even wanted to pay for the entire lease upfront in cash. I visited an apartment I was extremely excited to potentially move into. The company acts like they're a robot but they're humans hiding behind prompts. They didn't answer any of my questions about the property and didn't give me access to the laundry room to inspect. After giving a BRIEF history of myself and my horrific situation I was judged and told to not even apply. They assumed I had bad credit and told me to go somewhere else. I have great credit and years of work history and references. The owners don't seem to be worth while people to want to invest your life's security into as they don't care about anyone else's concerns except their own. They came off at elitist, judgmental, cold, callous, and overall assholes. I wouldn't live there even if they let me apply now. It's a gorgeous place but do you really want to deal with people who don't care about humanity? Let's be honest, go somewhere else the other reviews speak for themselves and there's not enough in the area to keep you there long term. Literally fuck them. read more

A close friend of mine lived in a building that was bought by Veno properties, and upon buying the building, decided to raise rents by ~30% -- without addressing any of the structural issues of the building, nor doing any renovations. The windows were rotted, and the building was cited as potentially having lead service lines. Communicating with the company is nearly impossible, with automated email messages and general phone lines to call that don't lead to another human on the other end. They're a faceless organization, and do not care for the buildings they own -- mainly focus on real estate holdings. read more

I rented for veno for 2 years. 2 years with a leaky roof that leaked on my couch for a heavy rain. The door didn't seal because the door frame was no longer square - they thought a sticky piece of foam would suffice. The flooring literally cracked in almost every room - they glued the cracks down. The snow removal that was included happened once. We were lucky when they came to mow. There maintenance guy as nice as he was wasn't skilled enough to take care of issues. Even the refrigerator door was broken but that never even got a knowledgement. I've lived in the projects and they were in better shape, and at least the maintenance was done in a timely fashion. Absolutely horrible experience. I will never use nor recommend them. I could go on and on but I think you get the point. read more

a tree fell on the roof on Christmas eve, no came out to see if there was any damage I was away. wen I cam e back my roof in the bedroom collapsed I call the maintenance man, he just stared at me it took them 3 months to fix the roof. they gave me every excuse not to fix it. they decided not to review my lease and they would not give me a reason. I'm so glad to be out of there. charge top dollar but don't want to fix the issues do not rent from this company read more

Avoid any property managed by Veno Properties. I lived at 3010 NY 43 in Averill Park. The "lawn" for Apartment 2 was just dirt and littered with shards of glass and broken porcelain that I had to clean up. The toilet was literally stained black and took me several months of intense scrubbing to remove. The bathroom sink was coated and stained with some kind of hard plaster or caulk like they just let the water drain and didn't bother to wash the sink out and let the residue harden. I had to chip that out. Prior to leaving, and a catalyst for leaving was when the tenants to the main house Left, the power to the house was shut off which also shut off my water and half of my lights and power outlets. I had no water for a week and had to carry buckets of water from the creek behind the house to flush the toilet, and go to relatives to take my showers. The monthly cost of electricity for that small apartment was twice what I was paying for a 2 bedroom house, so I have have to question if I was paying for part of the power to the main house and the wiring to the meters was screwed up. Maintenance was supposed to come in the fall to clean up the leaves but no one showed and the leaves remained until I gave notice I was leaving. During the end of winter storm we had no one came to inspect the property. There were several large branches that fell and after several weeks, the tenant in the main house moved the branches himself and they still sit in a pile at the corner of the property. Parking sucks. They have a parking space on Barzen Road and the rock steps down to the property are very treacherous and unlit. When I left I thoroughly cleaned the apartment, but I was still charged a cleaning fee without giving me an explanation what they we're charging me for or allowing me to return to correct the issue since I was still paying rent for several days after their inspection. I sent an email questioning this and they didn't even bother to reply. read more
