The good: decent spacing between sites, close proximity to things to do and amenities. During the entire seventh month day, we witnessed total lack of maintenance, security and safety in this park. There are two bath houses-one at the office and one at the center of the camp. The one at the office is maintained much better than the one at the center of the camp, which is the one most people find closest to use. These bathrooms are constantly out of toilet paper, are filthy, and for six months the three toilet ladies room has only had one toilet working. The men's room has water flowing over the floor most of the time-total safety issue. There is zero lighting at night near the bathrooms and people have fallen, it's a wonder they haven't been sued. There is no way to see where the sidewalk ends and the street starts. Even the camp host is extremely frustrated because they report these issues to the office and nothing is done. Several campers have complained to the office, and nothing is done. There was a resident here with two huge, very aggressive dogs and many of us complained about these dogs because they would lunge at people, including children when they went by and they would bark incessantly. The office actually lied and said no one has complained when we mentioned it to them because several neighbors informed us that they too complained long before we did. Staff can be very snarky when you present complaints and concerns. Just the fact that they don't care about our safety astound us. Warning - don't even chance arriving at night after dark because you will surely scrape your rig from the lack of maintenance to the trees along the roadway. One of our neighbors has deep gouges on his unit from this. The staff travels the wrong way on the roadway constantly, but don't you dare do it as a camper. Weeds everywhere. DO NOT RECOMMEND.

There are many pull-thru sites here. They sites appeared well taken care of with fresh green grass. There were two dog parks. Neither had water by the dog parks to help with clean-up nor did they have bags or a garbage can. We did use the laundry by check-in. It was FREE to campers. There were two washers. One was broken and appeared to have been broken for some time. There were four dryers and two were broken. The location here was perfect. The commissary and NEX were good sized and there were plenty of activities on and off base. Beaches were close. Maintenance staff and host were friendly and always seemed to be working on one thing or another. WI-Fi worked great. A negative -- Office staff ... not so friendly. There were two in the office at check-in and the brunette was a little curt. I wasn't in a hurry to go back there at all. It would have been nice to have received a map of the area. We thought this a nice place and would consider returning if in the area.

Dear KOA Ventura Ranch Management,…read more I am writing to formally express my disappointment regarding our recent stay and to request a partial refund due to the numerous issues that significantly impacted our family's experience. Upon arrival, we discovered that there was no hot water available. My young children were forced to take very brief showers using extremely cold water, which was uncomfortable and not what we expected during our stay. We also found that the internet service was unavailable despite it being advertised as an amenity. Additionally, I was advised prior to our arrival that a propane grill would be available for our use. Based on that information, we planned our meals accordingly. Unfortunately, no propane grill was provided, creating an unexpected inconvenience for our family. The following day, conditions worsened when the water service was completely shut off. Without running water, the restroom facilities became unsanitary very quickly, as toilets could not be flushed and the bathrooms became increasingly unpleasant to use. Although we received the notice that the water would be off until 1pm it went well over that. This created an unacceptable situation for guests and made it difficult for our family to comfortably remain on the property. We chose KOA Ventura Ranch because of its reputation for providing a quality family camping experience. Unfortunately, the lack of essential services and amenities during our stay fell well below reasonable expectations. Given the extent of these issues and the impact they had on our family's stay, I respectfully request a partial refund of the fees paid for our reservation. I believe this would be a fair resolution considering the loss of basic services that were part of the experience we purchased. I would appreciate your prompt review of this matter and look forward to hearing from you regarding a resolution. Please - whether friendly or not, your dog will wonder & it could be a bad ending. Overall - even with morning fog, the ocean wave sounds are so relaxing & tranquil. Beaches are wonderful to walk and although many boulders- there was plenty of inlets to climb down with sandbags to help make your steps safe even for elderly dogs. Another great trip in the books! Know that there is no "easy" access to the beach, just rock climb over boulders or walk to nearby Faria Beach Campground. But most of all, get ready to experience a beautiful view of the sunset. It was so rundown looking with weeds, broken pavement, and bad shower facilities. Water was left to run even in water-thirsty California. The Pros of this place though is absolutely the location. Right on the beach at the front and a wonderful bird/wildlife sanctuary in the "bay" area. There are consistently migrating and local birds in abundance. There are also sea lions that you can hear and see on the shores. The temperature weather here also makes it a good spot most of the year. Beware of the May gray, June gloom, etc. There are ample facilities on base also. Mini store, gas station, a couple of restaurants. but it is a bit far from either Port Hueneme or Camarillo - the closest towns. They also have bare bones yurts. These are great. They have two bunk beds, a heater, and tables. They also have bbq grills out front. These have a view of the bay. It's pretty no frills though but could be a great adventure for the family. Cons: Absolutely a huge con are the mosquitoes. They run around unchecked and are prolific. If you see people running from their cars into stores, buildings, etc., it is because of the mosquitoes. Winters you don't see them but come summertime, they are a mess. (This past summer of 2024 we saw very few.) Bring bug spray and sit closer to a fire. Bring a large fan also as that will keep the mosquitoes from landing on you. Overall, it's a great place to stay. It may be hard to get reservations.

No running water besides the creek (don't drink that) which we used for hand/dish washing and such. The vault toilets had toilet paper until about Sunday morning. Vault toilets were clean, but the lock was broken on one of the doors. I can't speak to the reservation process, but I believe our group leader was able to reserve them online and we had no issues when we arrived. Lots of other families camping there with music and laughter and thankfully it got quite around 9/10.

My wife absolutely loved it here, and I got to enjoy the spacious RV lots and some cold beer from the store after a long day. The staff is extremely helpful and just all around has great attitudes. That matters so much when you've been towing a trailer for hours. It's nice pulling into a clean, well-kept property where the staff is welcoming and genuinely helpful. Definitely looking forward being back here again!

This is a well kept up clean place campground. All grass areas are cut and clean. Restrooms are clean. I highly recommend this place for camping or even just a day picnic fishing best views .
