Park Ranger cks for valid stays by verifying reservations but for those people that need a lesson on keeping your dogs leashed !! More posts needed!! Be prepared to know how to parallel park an RV. Bring a tow vehicle to go to other places. Learn to love your neighbors because you are packed in like sardines. Know that there is no "easy" access to the beach, just rock climb over boulders or walk to nearby Faria Beach Campground. But most of all, get ready to experience a beautiful view of the sunset. You can enjoy walks on the beach with your pets, and the sound of the ocean waves will lull you to sleep (and the occasional commuter train or small freight train). Nice level asphalt parking area but stay was spoiled by traffic on adjacent frontage road. Very difficult to sleep with traffic noise from frontage road. 101 noise is negligible with oceans soothing sound. Also, rude, obnoxious rangers almost kicking us out for being in parking spot 13 minutes before noon checkin. read more

Nice location to do some coastal camping. RV and trailer only. No tents. Pet friendly. Book through the Ventura County Parks website. Rates and length of stay depends on season you visit. The big boulders prohibit a lot of beach access but there are a few spots with sandbags and usually the people are nice when you walk thru their space to access the beach. The speeding cars on highway 1 at any hour are kind of irritating so you need to be careful. The Vons grocery is just a few miles away but their clientele can be very sketchy because it's near homeless spots. But for the most part, the people in their rvs at Rincon are respectful - lots of American flags. Update! You want a deck to see over the rocks? Stop by the tab teardrop before 10 tomorrow and it's yours for a low low price! read more

Great with some discrepancies. If you have young children, this may not be the campsite for your family as it's a park on the side of the road location. The speeds on this road is easily 60+ mph. Same if you have a dog that bolts. In addition, if people or animals in your party have mobility issues, it's a rock climb down to the beach unless you go over to Faria (which has stairs to get down the beach). Also, stay within your lines with your rig. The park rangers are sticklers about that even if you are 1/2" beyond what you should be. These sites are best for C classes, A classes, or small fifth wheels. read more

We stayed here for the first time this past weekend. Overall, it was a great experience, but now we know what we would look for if booking in the future. We were in site 9, which is one of the sites that has a wall between you and the beach below. The wall is about 4 feet high, so if you are at your trailer, you can see the ocean but not the waves crashing on shore. There is no beach whatsoever at this section of the campground. A few things to note. It is loud. At high tide, the waves crash against the wall and it gets the ground muddy closest to the wall. The waves weren't near our rv, but if the surf was higher, I could see it getting pretty far into your site. Cars are flying by on highway 1 which is about 10 feet from from were you park. On Saturday morning, a tractor started up and was going back and forth in the fields just above the campground. It was pretty loud. Trains come by as well, but although they are loud, they go by quickly. Another thing that was strange was a weird, piercing sound like a whistle that my wife and I would hear every now and then. It scared the crap out of our dog. Eventually, we realized it was some sort of new fangled "scare crow" to scare birds away from the filed across from us. We only realized that after it went off one time and hundreds of birds took off from the field. We walked the entire campground and noticed that some sites have very small areas in front and then rocks that lead down to the beach below. Some sites have large rocks in front of the site, that sit about 4 feet high, others have no rocks at all. Finally, some sites have almost no access to the beach unless you want to risk twisting an ankle trying to navigate through the large rocks. Overall though, you are oceanside with a great view. We plan on going back soon after learning some of the tips that I outlined above and trying some of the other sites. read more

We just spent 2 days on Rincon parkway. We actually had reservations for 5 days but had to leave early due to the amount of rats .Our coach is new but when the sun went down the attacks began . We could hear them underneath the coach trying to get in . We actually saw evidence of them getting in under our fridge . We could see in the morning the amount of dropping on our camp rug . We have all food inside in storage containers , we always take trash out and wipe down after every meal so nothing that we did . Worst experience camping ever since owning the coach . I wish they would have some sort of vector control. I'm used to the ground squirrels that live amongst the rocks but they seem pretty harmless. I came home and called a exterminator company to come out to make sure the coach is secure and free of rodents . Definitely from Rincon Parkway because after 2 days home , no traps have been set off , no sign of entry . We are leaving traps inside coach for 1 more day to make extra sure . We've cleaned and sanitized the coach twice already but waiting one more day to do it again . We were at spot 84. I did see other trailers with several containers of moth balls under their trailers . Is this a thing there that no one says anything? It's a beautiful spot , great from past experiences but this time was a nightmare . read more

First RV trip and it is a great destination. To be able to wake up to the beach, catch the sunrise and sunset while falling asleep to the ocean waves is amazing! Super dog friendly beach. My senior pups loved it! The other campers are so friendly. A great little getaway. So happy I was able to make reservations online. My only concern is the black tar that can get stuck on the soles of your feet when walking the beach...hmmmm look further out and you see oil rigs so I definitely wouldn't splash around in the water here. Rincon Parkway is a RV only campground (parking space) located off the 101 Freeway in Ventura. You are literally in front of the ocean. There are no hookups of any kind and you must have everything you need in your rig. For example we have a class A motorhome with generator. We filled out water tank, brought our own propane for our fire pit and heater, and have our own bathrooms. There are port-a- potties, but use at your own risk. Lol. Reservations are online only and they are usually booked but you get lucky sometimes and get a reservation in the middle of the week. For a 3 night stay, we paid $131. Most sites are max length at 46 ft. Our motorhome was 36 ft and we ended up parking our SUV in the front of it. If your truck is long it may not fit due to the rocks protruding that make up the sea wall. We tried parking in the rear of our motorhome but rocks prevented us from backing up in our assigned spot. If you are heading North on the 101 exit Seacliff and make a right. Proceed straight and you will begin to see the RVs parked along the sea wall. This route puts you in the direction of how RVs are facing. There is no room to make a u-turn with your RV and you will be impending traffic if you attempt to do so. Spaces are numbered and assigned at the time of your reservation. All are RVs are parallel parked with the passenger side facing the ocean. There is a narrow bike lane and space on the driver side of your RV. You use this space to stage your RV and towed vehicle. Put your hazards on and be careful. Cars are speeding in each direction and bikes are also passing by. You don't want to hit someone or have someone hit you. Use this temporary space to back your RV and vehicle into place. Spaces in the numbered range of 25-30 have good beach access for the most part. It is a lower sea wall to climb down. You have to climb down a man-made rock sea wall. Some spaces or areas are easier to climb down than others. You just have to find an easy path down the rocks. Not sure why others complain about this, the sea wall and rocks are to protect you and your rig from the ocean. What other place can you camp right by the ocean for under the $30-40 a night? Shopping, retail, and food is only about 11 miles south and even closer for smaller hole in the wall places to eat. We forgot to pack diapers and Target was 20 minutes away. You can even have GrubHub or DoorDash deliver here. Give specific instructions and your site number. We had pizza delivered to our site last time we were here. Many options to choose from. There are squirrels and probably other not so sanitary critters (didn't see any mice but it was mentioned in another review) so be mindful of your trash and food. No infestation of any sort that we saw, but there will be if you leave your site a mess and desirable to them. Most RV owners should already know no when your rig is in storage or stationary in a new campsite, there is always a possibility of critters wanting to get close to you. I always leave bait traps in my storage areas and try to be proactive about this. Be courteous and respect quiet hours when camping here and using your generators. Always clean up after yourselves and follow the rules. We don't want this camp area to be taken away. There are more traditional campgrounds with some hook ups such as Faria Beach campsite further North however they get booked quickly and have ocean views but you are limited in the camp area outside of your RV. Rincon Parkway is literally beachfront and close to the sand. Definitely worth it for a relaxing and cheap way to beach camp with your RV. read more

Take the scenic route off Highway 101 beginning at Emma Wood State Park just past Highway 33 exit and stretching past Faria Beach, to access this parkway and the beaches along this section of highway. An onramp back to the freeway is available at the other end. One area allows camping, another section does not, so check the signs closely to see if overnight parking is allowed. Day parking is available all along, although you have to scramble over large boulders to access the beach. This a beautiful stretch of coastline, so slow down and enjoy the drive, park, walk the beach and/or watch spectacular sunsets and island views, as I do, every chance I get. read more

I am not sure how to rate this place. Nice to be on the beach, reservations on-line, bike trails. Trash dumpsters and ports-potties provided. Train tracks are not very active and the US 101 was far enough away not to hear. Now the weird stuff No life guard towers, the most icky nasty brown talc like powdered dirt to park on. Throw some beach sand on it to cover up maybe. I never saw a state ranger, but the interactions with our group were (strange, odd, out of place, etc.) never saw any law enforcement, But they placed electric signs "thefts in area" . Ventura must be the defund police morons. Traffic during the night averages 60 MPH so look out. The best thing there was a service that pumps poop and has fresh water! They were wonderful. read more

Eh - being this close to the beach is nice & all. But its hard to hear & enjoy the sound of the waves w the traffic on PCH AND 101 nearby. All the spots are literally right alongside PCH - and cars/trucks/rvs have been flying by since we arrived. So be careful w your children/pets. Another thing I really dislike about this place is you have to climb up/down big boulders just to get to the beach. Not an easy task when you're carrying your chairs/kids/etc. I was so excited to finally try this place out. Needless to say I def wont be coming back. read more

Very beautiful place but Not my thing to park on the side of a road and have giant boulders blocking my view. There was a porta potty near by for those who don't use their own toilets or don't have them. Pretty crowded by Giant RVs on a Friday at 2:30. So good luck finding a nice spot not butted up against people along a side road that is next to the railroad tracks which is next to the 101 freeway. The sound of the wave does drown out the freeway but not the train. No electric or water hook ups. The beach was pretty tiny too. Great place to bring the dogs for a few hours. read more

Great little hidden surf spots all up and down PCH here. Surfed here Sunday with the team and enjoyed a special spot known as 'Signals.' If you are a surfer and ever want to join us, get a hold of me and I will tell you why they call it 'Signals" if you don't already know. Access to the beach is limited at this spot due to the large rocks and the climb down but it was very worth it. As I indicated in my check-in, we got to be a babysitter for a little while for a baby seal who was left with us while mama seal was out hunting. Great little guy and good company. If mama ever needs a babysitter again I will be sure to oblige. Also, experienced a small pod of dolphins here as well, and watch with glee as two baby dolphins were playing and breaching the water. It was like being at Sea World but 10-times better and up close and for real. Beware this location for stingrays, as one of our team had previously been lashed/stung here before. Not to say this can't happen anywhere, but just be aware. This is a great place to camp as well. There are various camping spots for RVs and even cars and tents. One of the best RV Spots in Ventura. MUST HAVE A RV. This place gets super packed especially during holiday weekends. This spot offers amazing views of the ocean and sunset. For the most part you can easily access the water by walking down the rocks. If you're lucky enough there a spots that are easier to get down. LOVE THE FACT THAT EACH SPOT HAS A PLACE FOR BOMB FIRES near the RV! Portable toilets, trash bins and payment deposit boxes are easy to access regardless of where you park. Note: ONLY ONE CAR ALLOWED/SPOT. Friends and other attendees can easily park near the train tracks by the houses, but beware of the parking signs. Depending on where you park, you must be gone by 9PM! To be honest, I don't really understand why anyone would go to the one near Ventura Avenue as there is no easy beach access. Used to be able to pay onsite and claim an empty spot at Rincon. Reservations online only now, which are hard to get. Booking fee $5 and site fee went up to $35. Ocean is view is beautiful, but traffic flying by on PCH a few feet away makes it hard to enjoy the sounds of ocean. No hookups. read more

We love coming here! Our only complaints are the people drive too fast on the street and the city/county should put in some sort of speed bumps or something. A lot of people have little kids and dogs. The portable toilets are supposed to be cleaned every three days or so but we stayed for a week and they only came once. read more

The view is stunning and listening to the waves crashing is relaxing. I should forewarn you before you come, they do have rodent problems as mentioned by another reviewer. We didn't see them at night but when we awoke the next morning, we found that they bit on our dog's food container and left us their excrement in our RV's bottom drawer. They didn't get to our food pantry but I moved them in a sterilite container for now, afraid that they might get to it again tonight. I hope Ventura will do something about this problem because it is such a pity to have a lovely place overrun by rodents. read more
