Just flew home from a trip and didnt feel like cooking. Husband brought me there for dinner. We made a reservation at 630 for 7 pm and we made it there in time We were seated promptly after glases were placed at the table we were to be seated at. Ambiance was upscale. Dimmed dining room- suitable for a romantic night. But we also noticed a lot of families as well. In the middle of the dining room I noticed a little tree-like ornament. It looked very pretty and added to the ambiance. Hubby ordered a beer whilst I ordered a rainbow sherbet margarita. Drinks came pretty quickly. My drink looked very pretty- Its more tart than expected and im ok with that. There was also a strong raspberry taste though no raspberries in sight. So if you're not comfortable with tart drinks please avoid this drink. I ordered duck on the specials menu that came with green beans and sweet potato mash and my hubby ordered steak with onion strings and mac and cheese. Food took some time to come. Presentation was beautiful for my duck. Flavour was good for the duck. But even the pictures I attached showed that one part of the duck was undercooked. The other side was a tad overcooked but edible. The undercooked part cannot be cut even with a steak knife. The beans and the sweet potato mash was cooked well. Otherwise. It was good. They took it off our overall bill though. That was really nice of them. We then ordered desserts. I got a berry tiramisu, and hubby got the chocolate cherry manhattan. My tiramisu was good. Could be a little less sweet- as mentioned earlier i like tart-ish stuff. But it was still light and fluffy. Hubby's chocolate cherry manhattan was a little strong. But could be improved with a better balanced taste profile. We had a wonderful experience despite the slightly undercooked duck. Appreciate our young server very much. She was an absolute delight. Came here for our anniversary a while back. The atmosphere was stunning with a little tree front and center of the restaurant. They had some really great dining options and the dessert was even better, but what made it for me was the drink menu that is ever-changing. They have very delicious and unique options for drinks. The restaurant is centered around a large tree in the middle that was decorated for the holiday season. I tried the venue club with sweet potato fries. The club was presented in two large stacks of triangular sandwiches. The sauce and bacon were fantastic, but the other ingredients were just okay. The sweet potato fries were decent and paired with a standard ketchup. My husband and I took my grandmother here tonight for a special night out and we were not disappointed. Valerie was our server and she did an excellent job - she is so sweet and was so attentive! First - the menu is terrible because it had so many great options, we had the hardest time deciding what to order and I was very impressed with the wine list. We started with the crab cake appetizer which is surprisingly gluten free! I ordered the skirt steak special and it was prepared perfectly - the presentation was beautiful and flavor spot on. My husband had the pork chop and said it had great flavoring. The portion sizes were all very generous. Party of four with reservations for 6:15. Arrived on time and seated immediately. It was about 90 percent of capacity. Wait staff checked on us and gave us menus and took our drink orders right away. We had beers, soft drinks and a Manhattan. The Manhattan was outstanding. It had an interesting circular seating area and was very comfortable. We ordered pasta, chicken, and surf and turf. Everything was delicious. Did I mention the manhattan was delicious? It was my favorite part of the meal. Here comes the problem. When they brought the bill, we always do a quick audit to make sure it is correct. IT WAS NOT! The waitress had added three salads totaling almost $30 that we did not order! TLDR: Fantastic Service, Atmosphere and Food! Fantastic Service! Maxamillion P. was awesome! Easily the best experience on the food service side of dinner that I can remember. He really made the night feel special beginning with his greeting at the table, all the way through dinner. If there was music it was very subtle, but overall the acoustics of the dining area helped it feel very intimate. We were able to have a very quiet conversation in a busy dining room with no interruption. The atmosphere was modern and upscale but not haughty. Very appropriate as both a casual dinner/lunch or a date night romantic feel. The staff was all very polite and looked to be happy, and were always moving, which speaks to the quality of the management. Spinach Artichoke dip was fantastic. Side Caesar and Seafood Bisque were great. Paired with the house made focaccia and trio of butters hit the spot. We shared a side salad and bowl of soup, which Max split into two bowls hot from the kitchen. Combined with the appetizer we were full before the food came but couldn't stop eating. 14oz Del Monico Ribeye was perfectly medium-rare as ordered. Juicy and tender, with the perfect amount of char on the outside. Exceptionally well made! I pride myself in my steaks at home and we rarely get one out as they generally disappoint. This steak was phenomenal. Shrimp looked perfectly cooked and not overdone, asparagus were lightly grilled and not mush. The creamy horseradish was great. Cottage Pie was dense and flavorful. It really is a bigger portion than it needed to be. There were little baby pearl onions in there that burst with flavor. The mash on top was perfectly browned. Only tweak would be that I would like the meat and veg mix to have a little more "sauce" but that's definitely more of a minor critique than a complaint. The service was fine but the food was horrible. Half of it was cold, shrimp severely overcooked and not a hint of seasoning in the salmon or vegetables. The chicken picatta lacked any hint of garlic in the sauce. A little bit of attention goes a long way and it was clear half of our food sat in the window while the rest was being cooked. I sent it back and it came back very pink. I don't think it hit the minimum temp for pork. I did not eat it. My wife's pork chop was great though. They did get that right. First, a disclaimer or two -- Yes, I know restaurants (and most businesses in general) are still having pandemic issues with supply, with hiring, possibly even with patronage. Yes, our server was brand new. Yes, it was Garth Brooks day in Lincoln. So, we drove down to Lincoln for a celebratory late lunch at Venue because we'd heard good things. The entrance is impressive -- it looks like quite the luxe establishment, and it's very large inside. (I would suggest they get rid of the frozen meat-to-go cooler. I don't care how good your steaks are, it does nothing for the ambiance.) The hostess was friendly and after she heard we were celebrating a birthday, she excused herself to set up our table. Looking around, for 1 o'clock on a Saturday, it was surprisingly busy. Not packed, but a nice crowd. I don't remember seeing a single server, though, and that should have raised the radar. We were seated in a far back booth, which we really didn't mind. We're not a raucous group, but we figured we could take our time and have a leisurely lunch. In hindsight, I think we were put in the back so they could begin evening set up without us in the way. The hostess' earlier disappearance was explained by a nice birthday welcome message on the table. Our server appeared quickly, and seemed anxious to take our drink orders, but once we finally decided on them, and an appetizer ... Maybe 5, maybe 10, minutes pass, and ... we got water. A little later, we got our appetizer -- spinach artichoke dip. It's served with tortilla chips and two slices of very buttery looking (unappetizing to me) bread. I passed on the bread, but was told it was good. Chips and dip though, delicious! More time passed. Another group of four is seated behind us. Five or six minutes later, they receive their (soft) drinks. I guess soda is just faster. Is the server also the bartender? Is there a bartender? Why is it taking so long? Our server returns to take our food order, and we ask about the drinks. A few minutes later, they finally arrive. We toasted the occasion, and waited on our food. It didn't take as long as the drinks, but something noticeable with both -- presentation did not seem to be a major concern. The bloody mary came with zero accoutrement, which was surprising in this age of "cocktail can you top this." Not even the standard celery stalk. One of the entrees, a sandwich, was presented with less fanfare than a busy mom might accomplish. Toasted bread, cut corner to corner, and placed one half leaning on the other, on an otherwise bare small plate. The side of Brussels sprouts came on a separate dish, so the end result was a look of sparseness. But the sprouts were deemed delicious! The pecan salad entree was huge and a big hit. The cup of mushroom soup also ordered was delicious and nice and hot (never a guarantee with soup orders), but again, presentation -- it came out in a small ramekin, not placed on a saucer or anything. It seems even the slightest consideration could have done wonders. Both men in the group eagerly ordered the Italian beef, but there were no rave reviews. "It was OK." The most Italian thing about it was the peppers. Some restaurants on your birthday give you free dessert. Not here. In fact, we had to ask our server for dessert menus, as she seemed eager to schuss us out the door ... "I'll be right back with the check." We tried four different desserts, and all were big hits. The creme brulee was creamy, smooth, and the sugar crust done just right, not burnt. Our bread pudding lover was satisfied, and the salted caramel cake and cheesecake were big hits as well. All in all, three and a half stars. We'd love to try it again when the world is back to normal. read more

We tried to help by stacking our appetizer plates by the edge of the table (just 2 of us) but when she brought our shared entree, she handed our dirty plates back to us to use as tiny dirty dinner plates. She then leaned way across there table and took something off the back wall (I guess her arms aren't too short). The Mango Ahi tuna was fantastic, we also ordered Calamari but felt it was a little over cooked chewy and salty. I ordered a ribeye with a Worcestershire sauce reduction, they hit the temp spot on and was very tasty, Great dessert menu also. We prefer the lounge to the restaurant. The vibe is comfortable whether you show up in beads or jeans. It's all good. Bari is our fav bartender. She makes a perfect Mojito and Raspberry Cosmo. My hubs says her Manhattans are damn good as well. You can't go wrong with any selection on the menu. We never miss out of the Brussel Spouts and Spinach dip. I visited this venue while on a first date! I was tickled pink with the dim lighting so my date couldn't see me! Kidding aside. It was the perfect atmosphere with neutral colored furniture and comfy seating to wind down after a stressful day. We sat at the bar side by side which was interesting! The bartender was quick to wait on us and take our order. He was pleasant with a chill-like voice and attitude. We knew we were going to be drinking wine so we ordered a Happy-Hour appetizer spinach and artichoke dip with house chips and a glass of Pinot Gris wine. The spinach artichoke dip rocked! It tastes like a strong tart like flavor of Greek yogurt. It was fresh and fun tasting. The chips were crisp and sturdy enough to dip a heavy dip and have it not crashing down on your hands or shirts! They had a hint of lemon and lime with a dash of salt. The wine we picked was Pinot Gris wine. Pinot is a shiny, bright, and crispy flavors. Flavors of crisp Fugi apple, pear and a refreshing bright finish. The wine and the dip pairs well together. If you drink only one or two glasses of wine, you are feeling fulfilled and not stuffed. We took the chance of drinking our fair share of wine so I felt a little tipsy and full! We did not drink and drive. My date called Uber! I was slightly surprised he picked Uber over a limousine! That was a one time date. Ha ha. I could tell she was making an effort to give us a good experience. That said, I did have an issue with my food and she didn't really follow up on it. We ordered cocktails (French 75 and Tom Collins) and both were excellently made. The spinach artichoke dip comes with house mad tortilla chips which I appreciated as a mostly GF eater. Actually, their entire menu offers diners plenty of GF options (clearly labeled and well-described). Very refreshing! I ordered the surf and turf. The filet was way under seasoned and I needed to add salt. The texture was tender though, and it ate really well. The shrimp were tough and over cooked. Not edible. I told the server and she had them refire some shrimp. She came back fairly quickly and told me they had just come off the grill. I guess I should've assumed that meant the skewer was white-hot but I didn't put two and two together. I waited a minute then grabbed the end of it and promptly burned my fingers. Even a minute later, it was super hot. I feel like she should've called my attention to this. And sadly, the shrimp were overcooked again. Just rubbery and bad. The dessert stole the show. I was super impressed that they actually had a baked dessert that was gluten-free. So often my only choices are ice cream or if I'm lucky a crème brûlée. But the spiced apple cake with vanilla bean anglaise wowed me. The cake had a nice texture, and the sauce was heavenly. Smooth and a wonderful creamy accent to a slightly dense cake. Finally, the atmosphere is comfortable and upscale. The tables and booths are slightly worn to the point where it is noticeable, but the rest of the decor makes up for that. read more

You know, I gotta say, I don't see what the fuss is about. This was my second trip here and again, I wasn't impressed. Sure, the venue is nice. It's pretty. It's fancy. It's got a lot of space. But the food, the food could be better. I had the French dip. It was ok, the flavors weren't really 'there', but the fries were good. My friend also ordered the French Dip but without any sauce. She ended up getting a sandwich with the sauce, then when it was replaced, the third sandwich ALSO had sauce. And by that time everyone else was nearly finished so the waitress offered something else. My friend opted for the beer cheese soup and said it was ok for a few bites but a bit overwhelming, not good for a meal. Another friend had the lobster roll. It was meaty, which she really enjoyed.
