But we have truly never had bad food there. The chips, salsa and bean dip which they serve complimentary upon arrival are enough to fill up on, but save room for your entree. The staff is so quick. No sooner do you get seated than you are served the chips, salsa and refried bean dip along with water. The wait staff quickly arrives to answer questions and take the drink order. The menu is extensive, so make sure you look it over. If you have questions, the wait staff is able to easily answer them. The food always arrives very quickly. The kitchen staff must be magicians because the food always arrives in a very timely manner (even when they are incredibly busy) and it is at an appropriate temp and looks delicious. Again, I know it is teamwork between the kitchen and wait staff to make sure the guests are happy. We have had a couple times when a manager (I assume) delivers our food because our waiter or waitress is busy with a large group. We have never experienced a bad waiter or waitress. There has been one waiter who stands out as being extra impressive. I believe his name is Carlos (and if not, my apologies). He is always so personable and efficient. His demeanor is just the right balance of efficiency and kindness. One of the most recent times we went to Hacienda Jalisco, we were going to a theater production. We had a four-top. We were greeted as usual. When he returned with our drinks, he said he was not trying to hurry us, but he warned us that they had a couple large parties coming in. He offered to take our order as soon as we were ready because the large parties' might delay our orders a bit. We were ready to order, so we did. Our food came out quickly. One of the large parties came in. They were treated in the same way we always have been. What's interesting is that they received their food before we were ready to leave. That's impressive! They were pretty empty for a Sunday afternoon. We were seated immediately. They have an outdoor seating area which is dog friendly. Because it was raining, they allowed us inside right by the exit. They were super nice. And even brought our dog a bowl of water. I ordered a sangria. It was white sangria and delicious. Not overly strong, a good balance served in a pint glass. Salsa, chips and beans dip were brought out. Salsa was nice and spicy. One of the best we've had since moving home to Nebraska. Bean dip was also delicious and tasty. I ordered the cancun platter with flour tortillas. I'm unashamed to say that I stuffed my face lol The chicken and shrimp was done very well. It was delicious. It had very good flavour. And i even took the rest home. Wonderful experience We will be back since its like a 12 min drive for us to Hickman.

My test of a bar is always a patty melt because it is easy to screw up but when it's right it's right and they NAILED it. The patty melt was so juicy and well seasoned and they did something with the onions (maybe slightly pre grilled) where they didn't have the pungency of raw onion but still had the snap. I'm home now and am already thinking about when I can go back. This place will be in heavy rotation for us. The fries and breaded mushrooms were standard bar fair but good.
