I had high hopes for Green Space, I'm a public teacher and have a degree in early education. I was…read morethrilled to find a place I thought aligned to my beliefs for child development, but it ultimately fell short. The director, Amanda, is unresponsive and dismissive, which sets the tone for the entire operation. Communication is inconsistent, and the operation is disorganized. The handbook lacks clarity. Policies contradict each other, and important information is often passed by "word of mouth." I liked most of the teachers; they genuinely cared and kept my son safe. However, the constant turnover made it difficult to establish a stable environment. My son had three different lead teachers in just five months. Safety concerns and inconsistencies. It was revealed to me, quietly of course, that there had been no fire drills during my son's time there. The hours changed from 7:30-6 to 9-4 unless paying extra. I also think there were time that the ratio wasn't correct. While I appreciate the efforts of some staff members, the leadership and organization issues make Green Space a place to avoid. I wasted time, money, and peace of mind. If you value stability and clear communication, look elsewhere. The Texas licensing page says that they provide snacks and the handbook says that they provide snacks. Apparently that's only the toddler class and older. And my final complaint, I sent an email to the owner at the end of October, three months after my child had started there, expressing all of my concerns and feedback. She never responded. Now that I have experienced a different daycare, one right across the street, I see how much Green Space was lacking.

I would be wary of working here and even enrolling your kids here…read more I Worked here for a few months and it was nice at first but that quickly shattered. The daycare itself is very old and they DO NOT clean up, they say they have a cleaning crew but they don't sweep, mop or sanitize, they only take out the trash. If you want to mop yourself, there's never any cleaning supplies to do so. Pastor Nigel is passive aggressive, and will make manager decisions, but when you ask him about it he couldn't be bothered to indulge, he will redirect you to someone else in charge. He is too CHEAP to hire subs, and since teachers call out everyday, on top of them never wanting to hire new people, it often results in the remaining teachers to be out of ratio or change their entire schedule. It's clear to me that Nigel doesn't care about the daycare that's attached to his church. Speaking of teachers, even when they do rarely hire someone else, they ALWAYS hire openers, which left me and one other person to be closers, which often left me out of Ratio. They will also look for ways to terminate you. They fired me because I missed a lot of days of work, which is understandable, but there is a teacher currently working there who literally DISLOCATED a child's arm, and now she's acting like Assistant Director. The daycare itself is old and run down and desperately due for an upgrade. The rooms are too small, it gets too cold/hot, and it's also just really dirty in general. The only reason this place gets 3 stars is because of the TEACHERS. They're some great people and I enjoyed working with them. Everything else is a bummer and it's no wonder they go through teachers so easily.

So needless to say, we were very concerned for his safety and well being when we decided to send him to daycare at 13 months. Immediately with us being overprotective we had a few concerns, which were instantly addressed by Ms. Melissa the director of this location. She even mentioned to one teacher, "Sebastian May be ok, but you have to make sure that mom is ok as well". This has been the constant support and response to every concern, which has been addressed with genuine and immediate resolution. Because of how my son has been thought of and taken care or we feel comfortable leaving him there extended hours during, Parents Night Out". He even participates in the extracurricular activities that the center offers for a fee and at age 2, he loves soccer! Academia is the final pillar of success that this location has delivered on. My son knows how to count to 20 (and has been able to since he was 23 months)! They've assisted in potty training him- he's nearly 100% independent! And his word usage has been recognized by family & friends as one of the strongest they've seen at his age. We thought about taking him out to a more economical school, but when we measured the return on value with the cameras, diversity, advanced learning, and low turn over of his classmates whom he loves, it's just unparalleled! Sebastian has been included and loved and for that we would like to not only thank you, but recommend your location to others who may be struggling with the same issues as we previously faced. Unfortunately, my experience with The Children's Courtyard on East Harmon has been very…read moredisappointing, particularly when it comes to communication with the Director of Admissions. From the moment you walk into the school, the environment does not feel particularly warm or welcoming. My biggest concern, however, has been the way my questions and concerns regarding the Odyssey program (TEFA funding) have been handled. I have been actively communicating with Odyssey regarding the funding process and was informed that the school could take up to 30 days to receive the funds. Odyssey also provided me with information that I was instructed to give to the school. I have been doing my best to act as the middle person between Odyssey and the school to make sure everyone has the information needed and that the funding process moves forward. Unfortunately, when I have tried to communicate with the Director of Admissions about the situation or asked if she could reach out to Odyssey directly regarding questions or clarification, I have not felt supported. Instead, I have been left feeling as though the responsibility of figuring everything out has been placed entirely on me. What has been most disappointing is the tone and manner in which I have been treated when trying to address these concerns. I understand that funding processes can be complicated and that the school may have its own policies and procedures, but I don't think that excuses being rude, dismissive, or unkind toward a parent who is genuinely trying to make sure everything is handled correctly. I would hope that a school serving children and families would prioritize patience, understanding, professionalism, and clear communication, especially when parents are making an effort to navigate a complicated funding process. I am not upset that there is a process to follow--I am highly disappointed in how I have been treated while trying to follow that process. I hope the school takes this feedback seriously and works toward creating a more welcoming and respectful experience for families.
