Doctor Thomas Su and the entire staff at Verdugo Dermatology are simply awesome. My wife and I feel like they are all family, so very professional and friendly. Dr. Su is simply the best of the best. Great bedside manor. I experienced my first skin cancer surgery 36 years ago as a young man, and have struggled ever since with endless skin pre-cancer and cancer treatments and surgeries. Dr. Su has been treating me for about 12 years now, after the unexpected death of my original dermatologist. I am so pleased and blessed to now have Dr. Su. with his vast knowledge and exceptional surgical skills. --- It is a 2 1/2 hour drive each way for me to drive to his office from my mountain home, but even with that drive I would never think of changing doctors. My husband and I have been to other dermatologists for on going skin problems. Dr Thomas Su was recommended to my husband by a friend and he was able to diagnose and treat him where other dermatologists were diagnosing and prescribing wrong things, making the situation worse. After going to Dr Su, he told him exactly what was going on and told him that he had been given the wrong medication and that is what was causing him more problems. Needless to say that his problems are getting better, so now we take our daughter here which also was misdiagnosed and now thanks to Dr Su we know exactly what the problem is and how to take care of it. It's rare for us to recommend a Dr but this guy is really good and wish we would have known about him years back. If you want a good dermatologist and someone to take care of your problems, he's the one. read more

I have had nothing but good experiences with the medical staff here! Annie is fabulous and I highly recommend her to everyone! I initially came to her for an annual skin check and now my whole family goes to her. She removed a mole I thought "looked funny" on my 6 year old daughter. My daughter was terrified and Annie was so sweet and calm, it definitely helped the situation. I feel like Annie is honest and addresses my skin needs without feeling like she's trying to up-sell. I usually go to Dr Chang for my normal skin issues such as acne or mole removals. She's truly kind and gentle. They introduced me to a new treatment called dermalinfusion. It's amazing!! Taryne who did the treatment is such a sweetheart. She completely makes you feel relaxed and you feel like you are at spa. She's very professional. Great new office location Had MOHS surgery and they made my experience as enjoyable as skin cancer surgery can be. The staff works very hard to assure that appointments are made and kept to accommodate any schedule. Just went back for a return appointment, taken into exam room promptly, history taken, and Dr. Su gave thorough description of the procedure. 20 min later, my stitches in place and pressure dressing on, I left the office with smile on my face.... I've been seeing Dr. Su for a few years now. I've been to a few dermatologist for my acne and sensitive skin. He is by far the best dermatologist. He is very knowledgeable and very good at explaining things. He takes his time and listens. His office is very clean and the equipment is nice and new. His staff is phenomenal and very helpful. I had some complications with my insurance company, but the staff was great and kept me up to date and handled it all so I didn't have to spend hours with the insurance company. They even went as far to find the right pharmacy near me that carried the medications I needed. I live in orange county, but make the 1+ hour commute to see him. I would highly recommend him to anyone. In fact my entire family, parents, wife and now baby daughter see him. My baby daughter unfortunately has my sensitive skin so she had some bad eczema. Fortunately, Dr. Su was able to help. She had a hard time sleeping due to her skin issues when she was born, but with Dr. Su's advice and some medications she is a happy baby! We wanted to use medication sparingly and Dr. Su understood and he laid out a plan that balanced medications, lotion, and other over the counter products that worked for us and more importantly our little girl. read more

It is so refreshing to visit a physician's office that is ran so smoothly! We get there a few minutes early, pay our co-pay, and are escorted to the exam room within minutes. Dr. Su comes in about 5 or 10 minutes later. He is so very knowledgable and patient. He always answers all of our questions and we never feel rushed. Front office staff are friendly and efficient. Can't speak on the practice other than that the lady in the front of the office is an incredibly rude and ill mannered individual. Someone with such a reprehensible attitude has no business being front office staff for a medical office where she and her horrid personality are the first thing that a new patient is greeted by. I walked out after one minute of having to deal with her unpleasant and condescending attitude. She has no air of being welcoming, warm or approachable. It's really a shame because I'm in need of a reputable dermatologist but won't bother visiting a practice that has hired such a snide and largely unhelpful woman as their first point of contact. read more

Dr. Su is the definition of uncaring. He spent a total of 1 minute listening and 1 minute prescribing, providing no opportunity for questions or concerns. He misdiagnosed what my skin needed and now I have a red hue to my face. He has a terrible staff, namely Jermin. They have 0 respect for clients. Misleading billing department. The doctors here are great and resolved my skin problem I had, but the only issue I had was there billing department. I was mailed a bill statement and I was told my insurance would cover it and I called and they said I would not have to pay that it was supposed to be send to my insurance company. A month later I get another bill statement that I still owe them money and now I can't ever get a hold of there billing department, I call them and left a voicemail and never return my call I called multiple times and always ends up going to voicemail. read more

The reason I have provided a low rating is due to the fact that during the course of my initial telephone call to make an appointment I was asked to provide a credit card to be retained in case of failure to appear. I have medicare & good supplemental insurance but aware that ofttimes there are delays in payments I was uncomfortable with a Dr.s office having access to my money so easily. It just seemed unfriendly and unwelcoming and mistrusting. Fortunately good dermatology options exist in nearby La Canada. read more

Very bad customer service, front desk, the biller , office manager hides and close her office door, and doesn't want to face with clients .. doctors are good but office management and communication is terrible.. they can not have a proper communication with insurance company.. make sure to check with your insurance before going there ... and keep following up until the bill is paid .. read more

Let me preface this by saying it pains me to write negative reviews, but given my experience at this place, I can't stay quiet. The 2 times I've been, they tried to force invasive treatments on me without explaining what it was for, recovery time, and risks of treatment. By law, all doctors need to provide informed consent. The 1st time, I didn't know what was going on and suffered the consequences. The 2nd time they tried for a different problem, I told them I didn't want to do that and the female doctor was super defensive and tried to bully me into the treatment. When I told her I didn't want it, she asked if "I read something on Google" to make me think it's bad. Talk about poor bedside manner. Also, she is not sanitary. She used the same exam gloves to examine all areas of skin. Imagine touching one area of skin that has a problem then touching a different completely area that is fine. This is how pathogens spread. Overall, I was super uncomfortable and I won't be returning. read more

Wish I could say I had a great experience but i was refused to be seen by the ladies at the front desk. The ladies at the front desk were so rude to me making a scene saying I had HMO when I know for a fact I have PPO. They wouldn't even give me the chance or time of day to prove I had PPO. The staff at Verdugo Dermatology have been so helpful, I'm super happy to finally have a dermo office I can trust-- I see the results I'm looking for and that's the number one most important thing for me. The plus side is the friendly staff, from Christina and Maria at the front desk, to Annie for my injections and Malasma treatments to Taryn for my skin regiment, and of course Doctor Chang for my scalp needs... what a great team! Dr. Chang is a lifesaver! She completely fixed my skin with a milder class of drugs than I anticipated. I had horrible cystic acne that was uncomfortable and wrecking my confidence. 2 months after my first appointment with Dr. Chang my skin looks great. A year down the road now and the results have lasted and I'm maintaining them with fairly cheap topical meds. She is kind, listens to you carefully, and delivers results! I was in a lot of pain from a epidermoid cyst that had ruptured and became infected. When I called to make an appointment, they saw me the same day. I was freaked out about my skin discoloration after my trip to Mexico. The reception scheduled me in right away and when I arrived they had no wait time and the receptionist greeted me with a smile and was so nice. Dr Su knew right away by looking at my skin what it was and prescribed me medication and assured me that I had nothing to worry about. He answered all my questions and I was on my marry way.
