The owner is a very honest and caring person for animals. He saved my dogs life. I've been coming here for over 10 years now. I went in today and found out my dog had ticks all over!! I was terrified, and in shock as I try to maintain great hygiene for my pet by brushing her, and washing her in between grooming appointments. She is a white poodle mixed with maltise. So when she has fleas I could see them right away! Back story: I have skunks moved into my property and created a den which I'm guessing is where my dog somehow had ticks all over her paws and her body. When my original pet groomers forgot to schedule my appt, I googled another grooming place and came across this one. He took me in right away and I am so happy that I found this place. At first Mr. Arsen might come off as rude but many don't understand that his rudeness comes from when the dogs aren't being taken care of correctly by their owners since he genuinely cares about them. My dogs teeth were in bad shape, he was a recent rescue so you can only imagine. But Mr. Arsen definitely knows what his doing. I've never seen my dog so clean after the groomers. He charged a fair fee and was very nice and knowledgeable. It wasn't a rush of "bring your dog in, give me your money and go" it was more of him educating me on how to take care of my dog. He isn't there for the money, his there for the love he has for animals. I will definitely take my dog here from now on. read more

This place is trash. Took our dog there for the first time and they completely shaved him to the point where they nicked him all over his body. They were told to cut his hair around his face short but instead left that long and his entire body shaved all the way down. They left him looking like a rat. On top of that when asked how long it would take the owner responded in a rude manner as though I should know how long it takes. Then when it was time to pay they hit you with the "we only take cash." We will definitely not be returning. read more

PLEASE DONT TAKE YOUR DOG HERE!! The owner is very rude and seems to mishandle our pups. I brought my dog here and when I got him back he had multiple cuts and nicks from how roughly they shaved him. I wanted a short cut but instead they shaved him down basically to the bone. Terrible customer service. I thought the owner was rude to me only to find out he treated my dog ten times worse. He looked at my dog in disgust and told me my dog was too old and refused to bathe him. Would u ever trust a person like that around your animal. How sad for him. Please read both pages of reviews. I should have looked this place up before taking my pup here. I moved in up the street and walked my dog over for a trim. Not only was the owner rude to me, he was openly aggressive with my dog. My dog obviously did not want to be picked up, so the owner grabbed my dog by the ears to pull him in closer. I told him to chill and inquired whether he would be handling my dog or whether another groomer would be. He didn't give me a clear answer and then hiked up the price to $150 despite my dog only weighing 15 lbs and not having much to cut. He was openly hostile when I asked him when and why the price increased out of nowhere. He called me an asshole and I walked out. I got my dog groomed (Doodle) here once when I first moved to Glendale. Price ($75) was fair and groom was decent. When I tried to drop off my dog for another groom 5-6 months later, the price ($105) was hiked up, because the owner said I don't come often enough to keep that original price. Is he rough around the edges towards humans? Haha, yes, absolutely. However, he is great with dogs. My family and I have been bringing our dogs here for over 10 years and never ever had problems. I once took my dog to another groomer, because she was closer to my office. She cut his skin in 4 different spots. I was furious. Arsen has never knicked any of our 3 wiggly poodles or terrier. We've been taking my dog here for about 2 years... one thing is that this groomer does a great job with cleaning teeth & trimming my dog. However.. I am not exactly sure how my dog is being treated inside. I suspect he's being a little rough with the dogs. Secondly, we called him the other day to try to get my dog in here & he was extremely rude. This place used to be awesome! It was convenient, cheap and the man at the store did a great job. Unfortunately, I have to edit this review to a 1 star from a 5 star, and I will agree with the first review and the 2 stars that was given. The man who groomed our dog should close his business and find another job if he can't show love and give love to these animals. I had to find out the hard way, and it broke my heart to see my wife in tears. And this was the reason why. We showed up 10-15 min too early to pick up our dog. We pulled up outside and we could see the good work he was doing on our little dog. I decided to just rest a little, while my wife watched and witnessed the owner of the shop grabbing AND LIFTING UP OUR 12LBS DOG AND STARTED SHAKING HIM REALLY HARD IN THE AIR. For literally no reason at ALL!!! It got to a point that she thought he was going to break every bone in his body. And for what?Our dog did not bark, bite or move. She didn't understand the reason behind this violent action by the fuckhead who used to "ok" to deal with. When my wife calmed herself down from the shock she had, she decided to walk in, grab the dog. The owners reply was: "oh, I didn't realized it was you waiting outside". Still shocked, she paid the asshole for the job (I don't know why), didn't tip or said good-bye. While driving away, I asked her what was wrong, we drove 100ft, pulled over the car and explained to me what see witnessed and why she was acting weird. With this being said, I won't take our dog there again, my wife is scared that this could happen to other dog owners. I personally think it is not human to behave this way. To you other dog owners, pull up and see the work he does on your dogs! This used to be a 5 star review, but F that. You'll see that karma works at it's finest, F### YOU piece of shit low life and F your groom place. I regret being polite and nice to him in the past. I brought my small maltese here a couple times because it's so close to my house but after a couple visits, I finally decided to never go back. The owner does a good job with the complete grooming and is very reasonably priced, but I hated how he handled my dog. He was very aggressive and rough which was unnecessary. When I asked him to be more gentle, he told me that he had to show the dog who is boss. Whenever he would look him over or check his teeth for tartar, my dog was yelling. I couldn't stand it and regretted ever taking my dog there. It's just not worth saving a few bucks. read more

Yes, the owner grooms the pets perfectly and my dog would always smell amazing for a whole 2 weeks. He also finishes in about an hour. HOWEVER, he is extremely aggressive with pets. You can already tell just from the way he picks them up.If he was that aggressive with my dog in front of me, I don't even want to imagine how he is once I leave. Also, I noticed that every time I picked up my dog from him, she was extremely anxious and would start wheezing and gasping for air to the point that I'd have to pull over and calm her down! At first I thought this was because my dog is just naturally anxious, but ever since I switched to another groomer, it's stopped. Like most dogs, she still doesn't like going to the groomers, but at least now she isn't shaking and gasping for air when I pick her up! Of course I have no proof of any kind of animal abuse, but I know he scares them. I can only talk about his aggressive nature, and my dog's reaction. Like I said, his work is great, but I feel better taking my dog somewhere else where I don't even have to suspect any mistreatment. Why take the risk? read more

I love this place! After trying so many other groomers in the area, this is the only one that I take my dog to. My Maltipoo is very particular and fussy when it comes to her grooming, but the groomer at this place seems to understand her :-) My dog usually bites me when I comb her, but after several trips to this grooming place, she's learned to behave herself. I brought my old poodle to this place for grooming and teeth cleaning. Yeah! My dog was gonna look good again! And he did! But the way the guy opened my dog's mouth was kind of rude. I should have trusted my instincts and leave. When I came back to pick up my little dog, he was UNUSUALLY CALM. The very next day, my dog started to vomit and to have diarrhea. I've been going to VPG for many years now & each time I take my 2 dogs (standard poodles)-they do such an incredible job! I have attempted to try to groom my own dogs, but, it's just not even close to what they have been doing and always have been doing, not in just the grooming part, time, but also they beat other groomers with their prices & time. It's also very conveniently located close to the 2 & 134 freeways. Excellent business & I will keep going back to them at every chance I get. this groomer seems gruff - at first. But he seems to see my dogs, and enjoy them. see them in that - the man really knows how to bring out thier unique characteristics. He wont let you stay to watch LOL becasue he wants the dogs to be able to be calm. He manages to calm my dogs. His calm firmness even stops my littlest who is terrified of getting his nails cut from squirming. good prices, he will even clean their teeth - he wants them healthy for the long term. He can also take your dogs on short notice often and calls when they are all set. and my dogs come back great!
