I was nervous to take my dog here for the first time. Shanda did an excellent job at grooming. I was, however, concerned about a couple of things. I told Shanda about them, including engaging my dog initially (she explained that well but not too receptive to my input), and a delay in getting back to me when I called for an appointment. It was actually not a long delay, I realized later. I'd called on a Monday and someone called me on a Wednesday asking me if anyone had called me back). I asked if there was an apology regarding the delay. She told me she didn't think it would work for me to come back there. I was shocked! I'm willing to look at my behavior, and that she felt on the defensive. But still. No problem. I've never had any problem at Tiffany's in Pasadena. read more

11/5/2016 Walked by this place several times. We usually bring our dogs for a bath in La Canada, but we decided to try this place out. The waiting area has a case with dog biscuits for sale. Cute cutouts. There's no place to sit in this area. You can peek into their work area where they bathe and groom the dogs. They seem to have quite a bit of groomers here which is great. The price is a little cheaper than Petco which is GREAT. Our dogs looked and smelled good. I liked how the groomer trimmed their fur. She even put on a tie for the dogs! Unfortunately, she forgot to replace our dogs collar which we didn't notice till we got home. She was kind enough to bring the collar to our home the following day. Now that's customer service!! Plenty of metered street parking and also a free lot across the street. read more

I also brought my lab here several years ago when he got into some salmon and decided to bathe in the oil. They were able to get out the stink, no problem. Shanda shaved my cat. It appears was not experienced. It's been bothering me so much I had to write a review. First time ever writing a review and I'm 60 years old. This is so bad I was encouraged to share. Not sure what happened but the tummy and waste area shave on my Main Coon is unacceptable. When I got home my cat hid under the bed for three days. My cat never has gone under the bed. Would not come out to eat or drink water. Once I able to see what happened I know now why he retreated. Three of his little nipples were shaved two of them dangling with blood. I had to take my cat to the vet. Shanda must have seen what she did as my cat did not have a cat complete shave. With different lengths of the shave I'm sure for a compensate of the two close cut that injured my cat in many places. Also he was to have a nail trim. Not sure what happened there but not all his nails were trimmed. Horrible service and to think I gave her a tip. At the time I picked up my cat, I was not able to observe the service. Never again. I also observed how she bathed a dog.. after bathing she shoves the dog into an iron gage throws a towel in and sticks a very loud hair dryer into the bars of the gage and slams the door. How cruel! Needed to find a new groomer for both my Westie and my Maltipoo after my previous groomer and his wife sold their business. I was worried that it would be a challenge to find someone who could do a decent Westie cut, as well as a cute cut on my Maltipoo that would be more teddy bear than poodle (his name is Teddy after all). Decided to give Bath & Biscuit a try since their reviews were promising. I was not disappointed. I've been bringing my dogs to see Michelle at Bath and a Biscuit for years and could not recommend them more highly. They are efficient, affordable, and great with the dogs who always come back looking amazing! My dogs are big with thick coats and I cant believe how quickly they manage to turn them around - it would take me days. I now live in another part of LA but I still drive back to Montrose every time I want to get the girls groomed because the service is so much better than anything near me. I recently stopped over to check out this place while I was out in Montrose for lunch and I was decently surprised! The place looks like many that you would pass by on Honolulu Blvd, but when you walk in you are greeted with a very nice looking entry and an amazing scent of fresh baked dog treats. If I had my dog with me she would have never wanted to leave. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I had just walked in mostly to see what the place was all about, but I quickly steered to the area that they had the treats and picked out a bag full of treats for my pup. The selection of their biscuits and treats is very good and the quality is absolutely best (some were fresh as of that morning). Arriving home my dog quickly devoured a couple of the large peanut butter bones and a couple of the small chicken treats. Overall I would give the place an A+ and highly recommend that if you are in the area to stop by and grab a treat for your pup! read more

Taking your dog into the groomer reminds me of trying to find a good hairstylist. Its kinda tough to find someone who listens to what you want, and does a good job at it. The prices are decent here, and I appreciate that they don't try to nickel and dime you for requests, like other places I experienced. So far I've had Brian groom my Corgi, Blossom. He is an absolute sweetheart, and is really sweet and warm with my fur baby. I especially love that he shaves the hair off under her pads.... something that groomers for some reason don't always do, and I feel that it should be required. I never thought I would be able to trust another groomer, given the fact that he had been working with my dogs for years. My dog got sprayed by a skunk and I didn't know what to do since using tomato juice is an urban myth. I don't take my dog to the groomer, so I didn't have a place to go. I did some research online and decided to try Bath & Biscuit. Michelle helped me out. She was kind and knowledgable. My dog came back looking great, smelling great and happy. Her nails were cut and ears cleaned out. It was a positive experience. Normally my dog is skittish and you'd never know. Definitely going back on a regular basis. Had a very bad experience at this place today. The groomer completely butchered my schnauzer's hair!! The entire body is cut uneven as if a child went to town with the hair clipper. I've had several different groomers work on my dog but never have I seen such a disaster of a haircut. I could have done a better job myself with my eyes shut! Absolutely ridiculous! In addition, we dropped off our dog at 8:15 AM and didn't hear back from the groomer all day. Finally at 4pm we called and they gave us an excuse that they tried to call us but we didn't answer. Sorry to say but I will never use bath and biscuits again I stopped by per owners request to get a quote on bathing my dog within a month I took my dog in for grooming a simple wash. The quote given to me was $50 and when I came to pick up my dog, they charged me 60 and this was for a simple wash no trimming nothing other than normal so just be careful of their bait and switch. I don't appreciate companies to tell you one thing and do something else. read more

Just picked up my GSD mix Nolan from Bath & Biscuit -- I had such a good first experience that I had to write a review right away. My partner and I recently fostered and adopted Nolan from a local rescue, so we didn't know if he had ever even been to a groomer. He's high energy and also pretty nervous around other pups. I communicated all this to our groomer Michele, who heard my concerns/anxieties and alleviated them during drop-off. She also had me bring Nolan in towards the end of the weekday, when there would be fewer dogs and noise. She even texted me some photo updates during his session, which was just the sweetest thing ever. Our grooming session took no more than 90 minutes. Nolan was so happy when I picked him up, tongue out and tail wagging. He clearly had such a positive experience, and he looked and smelled fantastic. Price varies depending on the pup's needs and was ~extremely~ reasonable compared to Petsmart and other local groomers, and a downright steal when you consider the sort of personalized and professional attention your pup is getting. read more

This may just be about me and the cat groomer. Sometimes you meet someone and from the first instant, it is oil and water. I tend to be overly chatty on voicemail - and maybe that bugged her. I had a special request for my cats grooming, and maybe she was just too busy to actually slow down and hear me. We certainly didn't communicate well AT ALL- neither on the phone nor in person - and she made it painfully and clearly obvious she thought it was all my fault. But she told me that she does ONLY cats on Sundays because there will be no dogs there - and there were at least 2 dogs there when I arrived. I saw them as I walked in - true, they were calm and well-behaved in the 5 seconds I saw them before she walked out to talk to me - but she had said "No dogs." [Not that I care, my cat is pretty chill....] The air was thick - I felt like I was inhaling small particles of hair - when I walked in. And I heard from my groomer [my regular, over-booked groomer] that another of her customers thought the place was not so clean.... This person had not told me that they only accept cash or checks - but I had read that from my fellow Yelpers - and I did see the hand-written sign on the file card on the wall..... She also tried to tell me that the cat would be cooler with fur on, just shortened, instead of the modified lion cut I was trying to get. "I have 14 years experience...." Well, I have lived with 2 very thick-furred cats for 15 years, and they get slower and seemingly plain bummed out in the summer until they get their fur shaved - plus, that just doesn't make sense. It was an odd thing to offer in the course of our trying to figure out what to do. And it is her rude dismissive-ness that makes me write this -- I am a massage therapist, so I know about making appts with people on the phone, and peoples emotional reactions to needs for your service and all of that.... And it can be much better done than this. She was brusque on the phone, and actually tried to shame me when the communications problem between us came to an impasse. It is not unusual to ask for shot records for a first time encounter - but I don't have anywhere in my notes that she requested them. She made it plain that this was all my fault - and maybe it was, but it is horrible inter-personal relations to categorically state "I am RIght and YOU Must be WRonG and therefore - GET Out." - which is Exactly what she said in tone and manner, and close to what she said as a quote. I have no idea what the rest of the staff is like, and I have no idea if the cat groomer [ I have no need to know her name and choose to forget it] has issues with talking to other people than myself - I didn't leave the cat, so I don't know what her work is like. However - I haven't been treated that rudely in quite awhile, and I would never suggest to a friend that they go here for that reason. read more

They took Scarlet, my Chihuahua/Corgi mix with 10 minutes notice. Everyone was friendly and I wax told 30 to 90 minute to complete (it was her first visit & they weren't sure how she would like the dryer). I walked around Montrose & got a call in less than 30 minutes. She looked great, smelled wonderful and was happy to see me. I was happy enough to schedule a future appointment. I took my very newly adopted, 5 month old Maltipoo "Rupert" here for his very first haircut about a month ago. Paulina groomed him and did a fabulous job. He was there about 2 hours and was very happy when I picked him up - no signs of being traumatized :) This was actually the first time I'd taken a dog to the groomer (growing up my mother always took our family dog to the groomer) so I didn't really know what type of cut to ask for, but still Paulina gave him the perfect cut! I couldn't get over how handsome he looked when I picked him up, and how reasonable the price was. It was I believe $40 for a VERY thorough grooming: bath, cut, nails, "etc". I'd definitely recommend Bath & Biscuit to anyone, and to ask for Paulina! read more
