My wife scheduled an appt for our dog at 2:30 in the afternoon for the next day at 10:30. At 4:00 the same day she called to cancel the appt and left a voice message. The day of the appt we were charged $25 as they were unaware of us calling to cancel. Their policy is that if you cancel less than 24 hours ahead of the service you will be charged. So VERY important, do not schedule an appt earlier than 24 hours ahead or you will be charged if anything comes up. I did call to plead my case, and the policy is the policy, NO exceptions. Will not be going here again. read more

My dog is a golden retriever/labrador retriever mix who has a medium length coat of fine hair. She loves to play in the water and after her last stay at her dog day care she came home from the pool with the biggest and tightest mats in her hind quarters that she had ever had. I knew I needed the help of a professional and after reviewing all of the groomers in Pasadena, I was still at a loss. A friend recommended La Canada Pet Grooming and I was sad to see their website noted a 3-4 week wait for an appointment but I called anyways. Luckily for me, they actually had an appointment later that week for a bath, brush, and outline trim. Parking was easy. There are limited spots in front of the business but there is a park nearby with ample parking and it's just a few dozen feet up the hill. Entering, I was greeted by the wonderful Katelyn who provided me a great introduction of their services and made filling out the initial paperwork very easy! She gave Ginger a quick once over and I explained the severity of the mats. I explained that I do not care what she looks like, I just want the mats out. I also expressed that I want her to have a positive experience because she can be a little timid of the brush so if they can only do a little bit of work just to keep her calm, that is okay. Two hours later, Katelyn called to inform me that I could pick her up. When I got there I was SHOCKED. Ginger was SO clean, SO fluffy and SO soft. She was like a brand new dog! They got rid of all the mats behind her ears, under her belly, and those giant tennis balls in her hind area. As you can see in the photo, her paws are tidier, her arm wisps are trimmed back, and her coat is sleeker. Her tail is a little wonky but thats because she also had some dreadlocks there that they got out. There isn't a single tangle left in Ginger's hair which is probably a first since she was a puppy! Her tail hair will grow back anyways and it is definitely worth it to have her coat be this healthy again. I have already booked my next appointment for Ginger and I'm so thankful to have found this business. I thought that Ginger would be nervous because she doesn't like when I brush her or cut out mats but Katelyn told me that she handled the visit very well! She didn't mind the brushing and the only time she was nervous was when she was getting dried but after they put the happy hoodie on her she was fine. When I came to pick her up she was excited, happy to see me, and in a great condition! Oh and she came with an adorable summer bandana. I plan on taking my newer dog for his first cut with them. Riley, who does my golden's cut and bath, does a fantastic job each time. My golden is very hyper, but Riley can get the grooming job done every time with lots of care. With a bad back, it's tough for me to groom my golden. I went to another groomer before going to La Canada Pet Grooming, and they said they couldn't cut my golden's hair because she's too hyper. Riley was able to manage my golden and groom her. I was amazed and thankful for Riley's patience. I appreciate Riley so much! A cute thing they do with every client is add a bandana after the grooming session. I thought it was a nice touch. I have been looking for a new groomer ever since our other groomer moved. I have been here twice and Mac and Yoko have been wonderful! My dogs Daisy and Rocky are terrified and have anxiety going to a groomer, but they come out happy and looking great! They are very professional and they answer every question you may have. Mac always calls you back and make sure the date you wanted and the groomers are available as well. They always greet you with a smile even though my shihtzu dog who's a bit aggressive when he gets scared...bit Yoko while he was getting groomed which I felt so bad and apologetic. This place knows how to handle business. For any husky owners out there, do not second guess this place, they are the best. This is the first and only groomers I've picked Luca up from where he had absolutely NO MORE SHEDDING and boy did he smell AMAZING. I've taken him to a few other groomers in different cities prior to moving out to this area but when I'd pick him up he'd still be shedding or his shedding would get worse and they just would say it's "part of the process". Anyways, I found my go to spot. Amazing job well done. I am a happy customer and will 100% recommend any husky owner to come to this groomer. With a little internet sleuthing I saw she recommended this groomer and thought they might have her contact info. I brought the dog in and they recognized her right away (pretty amazing since she's a golden retriever) and called the owner. I've been a dog owner for most of my life and have never received such terrible customer service from a grooming place. DO NOT trust your dog with them. God knows what they'll do. And in response to the owner, I brought my dog Mishka there before. No one has EVER mentioned a $25 fee for being late. That's absolutely ridiculous and the least you can do is let your customers know or wave it the first time. You have 0 manners, 0 customer service, and a nasty attitude. I recently took our two Golden Retrievers (shedding machines) to LC Pet Grooming for the first time. Emily and Jesus took excellent care of them. They both looked fantastic at pick-up, with great cuts, blow-drys, and nail trims. Goldens get a lot of fur ('slippers') between their pads, which were very well trimmed without overdoing it. One of our dogs is very nervous, but he was wagging and calm (for him...:-) at pick-up. The price was competitive with other shops, especially for dogs that require brushing until your arm aches. This is the 3rd groomer we've tried, and we will definitely be back. Highly recommend! read more

I don't know how this place plans on keeping clients with the most greedy owner on the planet. They were quick to take your credit card information at the time of booking, but never bothered to ask for an email to confirm the appointment. They literally wrote the wrong time for the appointment from what the request was and then charged a $50 fee because they wrote the time 30 minutes before the time that we had initially booked for. They were not willing to understand that there may have been a miscommunication, and said that it was only on your part, they were not willing to work with us, or as a courtesy let us still come in or not charge us because of a 30 minute miscommunication time. We never tried to cancel or be late, but they did not care and were not willing to work with us at all. Well, this is one groomer we will never go to, and we will be sure to spread the word about their disservice to the community. Complete disappointment. Never thought an animal lover could be so cruel but I guess this is just a money hungry crook business owner who doesn't care for keeping good customer relations for the sake of her business or the animals. God knows how many people they've already scammed like this, very unprofessional. read more

We are so sad that la Canada pet grooming is under new management. Our dog used to be so happy after his visits- he knew the people who would groom him well and they knew him and exactly what we liked. The quality of the cut was decent but the blow dry not as good. He was not as fluffy as usual. One thing the old management did that was a very sweet touch was they would always put a bow on his collar- usually relating to the time of year or an upcoming holiday. I had called some other places in the area about dog grooming and settled for La Canada Pet Grooming, the price per dog was a little higher than the other ones, but the receptionist asked me a lot of questions about my dogs and the service I was looking for, leaving me feeling I just might get what I want... Last time I went to a groomer they went a little hum hum, creative with the hair cut! They estimated 3 hours for two dogs which was longer than the other groomers I've been to, but boy did my girls look sharp when I picked them up! Just what I had hoped for and described to the groomer, with suuuuuper cute bow ties in their ears, no razor lines and the cherry on top: when the groomer kneeled down to say goodbye to the pups, they BOTH gave her a kiss! Even the shy one. I know they have been in good hands! Another inspection back at home revealed no cuts or forgotten spots, a practical and cute cut at the same time. 5 stars!
