If you're heading to this Verizon, you HAVE to ask for JOSE. I've been a customer for years, and Jose is the absolute gold standard of customer service. He actually helped me set up my account years ago and is still there to this day--that kind of longevity and dedication is unheard of in this industry! I used to have T-Mobile for a long time, but I've officially switched to only having Verizon now because the phone service is superior for this area. While this isn't technically a corporate location, JOSE makes it run better than any corporate store I've ever stepped foot in. He is a true exception to the rule. JOSE set me up with a Verizon Business account a few years back, and his level of professionalism and knowledge is unmatched. He is a patient problem solver who is incredibly informative--he knows exactly how to find the best multi-phone deals and the greatest offers for adding lines, whether you're a new or existing account. I am filing this as a formal complaint regarding a serious failure at this store that has directly impacted my ability to run my business. I came in to upgrade my phone and transfer my existing business number -- a routine request that should have been handled with basic competence. Instead, I was issued a new phone that was not properly activated, my number was not successfully transferred, and I was told to "call back in three days." I was then sent out of the store without working data, without confirmation that my line was operational, and without any meaningful resolution. As a result, I have been unable to receive calls or texts from customers, effectively taking my business line offline for an entire day. This is not a minor inconvenience -- this is a preventable service failure that has real financial consequences. I am now left with two unusable devices: an old phone with issues and a new phone that does not function. The lack of accountability, urgency, and basic verification before sending a customer out the door is unacceptable -- especially when dealing with a business line. This situation warrants immediate escalation and review by corporate leadership. I expect prompt corrective action, restoration of service, and a clear explanation of how this failure occurred. They made unauthorized changes to my account and added charges without clearly explaining what they were for. It's upsetting, especially because many older customers go there believing they're dealing directly with Verizon and may not realize otherwise. I usually never leave reviews but I was very impressed today and I want to give special recognition to Juan S. for his exceptional customer service. He was incredibly knowledgeable, patient, and informative while helping my parents with the process of porting out their old phone numbers to my Verizon family plan. Even though only one number was successfully ported, Juan spent a long time with us, doing everything he could to make the process smooth (I was already struggling with the port for a few days with the previous carrier). He even advocated for them to have Verizon waive the extra $15 fee for the port due to the inconvenience. His professionalism, dedication, and willingness to go the extra mile really stood out. Avoid this store. I completed a trade in, and experienced a salesperson who employed unethical business practice by blatantly lying to me that you "had to purchase the bundle items if you wish to take the new phone home same day or you have to order it which takes 3-5 business days." I questioned this to clarify and he remained firm. The items he made me buy to take the new phone home amounted to $130. Next day, I called Verizon to escalate this and confirm if this was actually policy and they said he shouldn't have told me this (as it is NOT policy) and they promptly compensated me for the cost of these items that were forced upon me for this guy's commission. I hope he gets held accountable. Okay to make sales but it crosses an ethical line when you blatantly lie. read more

I am not much of a review writer. I typically just accept both the good and bad service with a grain of salt. But the interaction we have had with this store deserves a written warning for anyone else choosing to do business here. My fiance came in here with her mother to get new phones. They were eligible for an upgrade with Verizon. They were not aware that THIS IS NOT A VERIZON STORE, BUT A CERTIFIED RESELLER. I'm not trying to make excuses or anything, but my gf and her mom are not tech savvy people or savvy buyers. The people at this store took advantage. They did get new phones, but they were also given two "free" tablets, and were told it would cost them nothing. They walked out of the store with two new phones (which they needed) and then two "free" tablets (charged at $10/month each for the next two years) and then whoever sold this to them added insurance on these tablets (without asking them if they wanted them) for an additional $12/ea a month. In total, this store bilked my gf and her mom out of $1,056 dollars over two years time for two "free" tablets. Luckily I recently joined their family plan and caught the extra charges and am trying to fight it now. But it looks like I will not have any success. Super shady business practices by these people. I can't believe the level of dishonesty in this place. My girlfriend had an emergency situation regarding her phone not working properly so she went to see what they could do here since the real Verizon store was closed. They told her she only had to pay about 4 dollars for a hotspot since she was getting credit on her account every month with a 53 dollar one time set up fee. She thought it was a decent deal specially since her job requires her to have a working phone. Once the bill came in she was being charged 57 dollars a month for services she did not request. Came into this store frustrated and left over the moon. We had purchased a phone at Best Buy and came in to activate it. Upon speaking with Jonathan, he not only helped set up my phone, but also notified us that we could get a great discount on our phone plan that will save us lots. Even beyond that, he found that my parents could trade in their old phones for a great price. Overall, he saved us HUNDREDS of dollars and had an amazing temperament throughout the entire transaction. He was patient and kind even after spending something like three hours talking to us. Salesperson lied, and coverage is bad. Setup new account with 2 lines around March 2018. Was told they had a BOGO deal for iPhone X, so got two. Months later I see I'm paying for the purchase of both phones, though one is discounted (not free, as expected with Buy One Get One Free). Chatted with Verizon support and they said it was not correct, that the deal with 60% off for iPhone X, not BOGO. To top it off, the coverage where I usually use my phone is atrocious. I work in Old Town Goleta area, usually do lunch there, or along Calle Real (Zodo's area). Data never works. Can't even load news sites or email. Verizon's coverage map shows these locations have good coverage, but they do not. read more

I never write bad reviews but gosh this store deserves one for sure. I wish I could give this store and sales representatives 0 stars. The way they do business just to hard sell you anything is unbelievable, untrustworthy, and disgusting! My initial visit was because my iPhone 13 SIM card wasn't working. The first guy that helped me didn't know what he was doing so he got support from the manager and other peers, which they tried to sell me on upgrading my iPhone 13 Pro max to the new iPhone 14 pro max. 12 months ago, I traded my Galaxy Note20 Ultra for this iPhone 13 so they gave me a $800 credit for 24 months ($33.33/month). I only have to pay $16.99/month for 12 more months to fully finish paying off my phone. So in the total 24 months I'm paying $407.76 and Verizon is paying $800 ($1,207) . They told me that I was eligible to upgrade to the iPhone 14 as long as I paid off the rest of my device ($600) to be able to trade it, and that I would keep paying the same price of $16.99/month failing to mention that it would be for a total of 36 months. It sounded too good to be true so I asked how long I had to pay $16.99 for the new iPhone and that's when they said 36 months. It didn't make sense to me as to why I would want to pay off my device (which would no longer include the $33.33 monthly credits from Verizon) to get a new one at full price with no further credit from them. I said no to upgrading and since my phone was still not working they told me about the orbit speed hotspot device so that my iPhone could still get wifi. They said my account had a "promotion" to receive a $10 credit and since the 15gb data plan on the device only costs $10, I wouldn't have to pay anything other than a $3.56 monthly payment for the activation of the device. I said out loud "this sounds too good to be true, are you sure I'll only be paying $3.56 more than my current bill?" The representative said yes, so I said yes, to getting it. They proceeded to charge me $53.18, which they said was for the activation fee and taxes. On my next bill, Verizon was charging me $35 for an activation fee + taxes and another $10 for the 15gb of data hotspot. I did have a $10 credit but they were charging me another $10 because the 15gb plan was actually $20 and not $10 as they sold it to me. I went back in to the store today and the representative told me that they could discount my account for another $10. Skeptical as to how he was going to do it, I asked what the promotion or how the discount worked and he said he would "discount" one of the insurances on my sisters phone. I asked "will she still get the same coverage/benefits that she's currently paying for?" He said yes, but that she wouldn't get tech suppprt and a few other things. I was confused so I said, "so you're just changing her insurance plan to a cheaper one and not actually giving us a discount?" He said, " well all I can do to discount your account is to change her plan to a cheaper one so that you're paying $10 less, but then you would have to tell your sister that the discount is for your line and not hers". In a very friendly way I told him that I would suggest him not using the word discount because that's where miscommunication can happen as he's not actually giving us a discount but only changing her insurance plan so she can pay less, therefore getting less benefits/coverage. HE SAID THATS HOW BUSINESS WORKS AND HE WOULD KNOW WHAT WORDS TO USE AS HES A SALES REPRESENTATIVE AND ITS PART OF HIS JOB. It's pathetic that he would even suggest changing my sisters insurance plan and asking me to tell my sister that the "discount" was for my phone line and not hers... meaning that she would be paying the same amount she has been paying (even though he insurance was changed) and eventually be paying for HIS MISTAKE. There's so much more but I won't waste my time writing everything else down. I WILL NEVER COME TO THAT STORE AGAIN AND SUGGEST YOU STAY OUT OF IT TOO! read more

DON'T GO HERE, go to the real Verizon Store on upper State Street. I went in and was told to switch carrier, do a trade-in and activate a new line with Verizon it would be around $350. When told what exactly I'm paying for he said taxes. I asked for a print out to take home since I needed time to think about it. He just printed how much the monthly payment would be. Then he said it would be no more than $300. That's when I knew things were not right. I went home & read the reviews, then went to the real Verizon store today & left with everything I was told would be $350 for $74 (Taxes & activation of line, did a trade-in). Try to avoid this Verizon 3rd party store. I had a bad experience here. Although the sales agent was nice to my face and what I thought was genuinely helpful. I even left the store with a positive feeling, however, he discretely added a $13/mo phone insurance charge on one of my lines. I definitely did not agree to this because I have my phones insured through another policy. In addition, he promised that he would overnight a phone purchased from Verizon to another Verizon store. A few days later when my mother came into the store ready to ship the phone that was pre-packaged, they would not ship it. I am also going to submit a formal complaint with Verizon corporate over this $13/mo phone insurance charge. Sneaky sneaky and to 99% of people who don't analyze every line on their bill this would have slide by. I know this sales agent gets commission for up selling that insurance policy. read more

I am a new Verizon customer, but chose to purchase my phone elsewhere as the vibe received at this location was just not good. From the front, one would think that this is an official Verizon store. Wrong. It's a third party whom is authorized to sell Verizon product. Don't be fooled. When I initially attempted to purchase my phone online, this location wasn't listed on Verizon's website. In fact, there is only one "official" Verizon store in the greater Santa Barbara vicinity. It's not this one. This store is in a newer Goleta shopping center. It's large, bright, clean, and parking is pretty ubiquitous. I appreciate how I was greeted by a representative right as I walked in today. The gentleman whom had assisted me, Timothy, was nice. However, the other two young gentlemen working during that time tainted my feelings toward this store. As Black Friday was approaching, I conducted my research and came in knowing exactly what I wanted - an iPhone XR. I was rather surprised over how aggressive the other two salespeople were on why I should NOT get one, but instead, an XS at a couple hundred dollars more. Gimmicky. They told me I'd be making a bad decision if I went with the XR, and that it was basically a piece of crap with antiquated technology. Though I appreciated their immediate feedback on my reason for going into that store, the hostility and aggression from these two guys (wish I'd gotten their names) were enough to make me walk out. I felt rather uncomfortable knowing that I'd be purchasing a phone that they were basically trying to steer me away from. I get it if they were trying to help out Timothy by helping him score a better commission from a larger purchase. Alas, he received none. I will likely not be back here unless I am in a bind and can't make it to the official Verizon store in uptown Santa Barbara. We wanted to upgrade a phone. In the shop the sales guy (Michael) was very unprofessional; laughing at serious questions and had to be asked everything. Later on we wanted to cancel the order and order a phone via Apple (way better deal), the guy on the phone (Michael) hung up on us. It took them 5 days to cancel the order, and cost us and an Apple store employee more than 8 hours to get the Verizon line in working order. The thing with this shop is that they are not a Verizon shop. They are a partner, which isn't really clear. Better go to a verizon dealer. They won't see us there anymore. read more

First I will say they give great customer service. It's a beautiful clean store with sales people that greet you the moment you walk in the door. BUT - do NOT be fooled. This is NOT an actual Verizon Store. It's got a huge VERIZON logo/sign on the building - but in very small print on the glass door, it says Cellular Sales. This store is simply an authorized Verizon reseller. They only deal with Verizon, not other carriers, so this is how they get away with a huge Verizon sign on the building. VERY MISLEADING. The sales people were great at selling me several accessories for my new phone - that I ended up finding at less than half the price on Amazon. Luckily I was able to return them the same day. If you're there to get phone accessories, and don't mind paying double, then you're in the right place. The sales people are there to make sales, and will put their own spin on how they are "Verizon" - they partner with Verizon only. Unfortunately the true Verizon store on State Street closed their doors for good a few months ago. So those of us in the SB - Goleta area are forced to do business here, or drive out of town to find a REAL Verizon store. read more

Logan was great, very helpful, worked for 3 hours to get us set up with new phones.

First off it's important t note that this place is an authorized retailer of Verizon and not actually owned by Verizon, although it's not clearly marked. I've gone here twice now to temporarily change my service to to my backup phone as I got my primary phone repaired and change it back to my main phone. I am 90% sure that they added extra fees that I wouldn't have had if I went directly through Verizon. I am also pretty sure they made me replace the SIM card on my backup phone just to charge me extra money. This place gives me the feeling of those mechanic shops that are always up-selling you and charging a lot for a seemingly minor repair. On the plus side the service was fast and the location is convenient for me (hence 2 stars instead of one). read more

Dishonest store practices, don't give them your business. I walked in for a phone upgrade, and when I returned home after upgrading I realized they had added in and charged for an (overpriced, expensive) accessory I didn't ask for. When I returned to the store to return the accessory I didn't ask for, I was told this accessory was "bundled" with the phone and could not be refunded under any circumstances unless I wanted to return the phone as well. This information was deceptively withheld from me the day I upgraded. It doesn't help that their accessories are very overpriced. $50 for a screen protector that popped off after less than a week? You can do better from other sellers without even trying. My mistake was that I was too trusting that they would not pull tricks like this. I was previously a repeat customer (this was my third phone from this store), but I certainly won't be going back. read more

This place was awful and I don't say that lightly. At the beginning of the pandemic, they sold me a jet pack. When I wanted to shut off the service a few months later, they told me I was in a 2 year contract! I had never signed any documents, and I couldn't understand legally how I ended up in a contract with no knowledge of that. They explained that the rep who sold it to me was new but did absolutely nothing. So I have been stuck paying for something I didn't want for 2 years. Fast forward to now, I received a notice saying that this jet pack is dangerous (a fire hazard) and that we should return it and get a new one. I tried to go to this store where I bought it and ask for at a minimum just a new one that won't catch on fire. I was told that BECAUSE IT WAS IN A CONTRACT they couldn't swap it out for me. It's a product recall for a product that is dangerous and they just said "well, there's nothing we can do." I don't think I've ever had such poor service. I can't use this device because it may catch on fire, but I'm still obligated to pay the monthly fee for it. I hope I can help some of you NEVER go here. read more

I went in to hook my new iPad Pro up to cell service on Verizon and have had one of the worst, if not the worst, customer service experiences of my life. First, the employee, Patrick Perreault, did not know how to proceed and got stuck. Another employee helped him out so he could set up a new account for me. I was told I'd need to pay $60 in cash, plus another $37.71, so I did. The process took a long time, and finally my iPad had cell service. When I got home I discovered that my iPad was actually on a lesser, $40 plan, not the $60 I'd just paid cash for. Not only that, but my receipt had another person's name on it with my credit card information below. Naturally I phoned Patrick Perreault, who said he'd look into it and call me back. A while later he did and told me even though my device shows I'm on the wrong plan, and another person's name is on my receipt, he checked and everything is really o.k., not to worry about it. Well, call me skeptical. I looked again at my receipt, and discovered the mobile ID number listed is not the one for my iPad. I dialed the Verizon help number and found my device ID has a $40 plan, and the other, wrong ID, has a $60 plan, which, as I suspected, I'm paying for, but not able to use. Not only that, but my credit card is showing a $40 pending charge for a plan I do not want. I would think an employee, confronted with the facts I gave him, could have acknowledged his mistake and fixed it. I am hours into this mess and don't know how many more it will take to get out of it. read more

I'm writing this review specifically for sales person Zach. As others have mentioned, this is not a Verizon store. It is an authorized Verizon retailer. That said, I had an exceptionally positive experience, and I've been a Verizon customer for over a decade. I made two trips to this store. The first to get information, the second a week later after I'd conducted my own research. I was ready to buy, but still had questions before I decided on which phone. Instead of being talked into a more expensive iPhone, I was guided to a less expensive Android based LG. Not a common experience when people are paid by commission. I felt like my best interests were being considered. We talked about the pros and cons of different options, and every question I had was answered. Almost half of the time Zach gave me walking me through the phone was AFTER the sale. It seemed like he could have sold at least one more phone during the time he showed me all the settings, but instead he chose to give a senior citizen like me his undivided attention. I'm happy with the decision, and even more so with the phone. Being a devotee of digital arts, the camera and video options on this LG are a boon. read more

The worst experience I've ever had. EVER. The sales person told me all this stuff, screen protector, charger, case etc was free with my phone and when I was checking out their printer magically broke and couldn't give me a receipt. When I got home I checked the emailed receipt they sent me and found out I was charged for everything. Let alone the men working were making very inappropriate comments about getting women pregnant while I was in the store( I'm a 22 year old female). I filed a complaint and did get refunded for the extra charges but had to go back into the store to return all the "free" things and I was so uncomfortable. I would NOT!!!!
